Two great songs by Gin Blossoms and a boring-ass one by Sting. You've made me realize I only like Dave Matthews' post-90s material.

Cult Of Personality is good but I LOVE the rest of them, especially the 2 Gin Blossoms songs!

Sorry for disappearing again. I've been really sick the past week, and got really busy with work again. The good thing is it gave me more time to think about my top 10 and how exactly to order it. This is the cream of the crop...my 10 favorite songs of ALL-TIME. Each one definitely means a lot to me, so I'll be posting these one-by-one and going a little more in-depth into why they rank where they rank. 10) "Blackened" - MetallicaMetallica has more entries than any other artist in my top 100, with 6. The highest of those 6 kicks off the top 10. From my favorite album of theirs, "Blackened" is a vicious, unforgiving song about pollution. I enjoy the unique opening and then the intense riffs throughout. It's not as raw as something from their debut album, but it's also not as polished as their more radio-friendly '90s material. This is a fixture of my hot weather playlists, and is one I've associated with hot weather since it became a favorite of mine back in 2011. Certainly an underrated track in Metallica's very expansive discography.

Awesome!! Too bad that album didn't have more bass. Good point. That album was really a showcase for Kirk (which is why I probably love it so much) and also really allowed Lars to shine, too. It was also one of the albums where the songwriting was a big deal. 9) "Down With The Sickness" - DisturbedLong before I was known as a hard rock guy on these forums, there was one song of the genre that really sparked my interest, and I'm talking about Disturbed's signature song. If the active rock format were to cease to exist tomorrow, there is no doubt in my mind what its definitive song has been in its 20+ year history: this one. One of the greatest pump-up songs in history, if those blood-boiling riffs don't get you moving, then the angry, profanity-laden bridge most certainly will. Perhaps my early obsession with this song (I enjoyed it as far back as middle school and had it on a mixtape in 2007) was an indicator that I wasn't going to be Hot AC poster of the year forever. It remains one of my favorite songs to listen to while angry, and is a great pre-workout jam.

I know I've heard that Metallica song but I don't remember it for the life of me. As for Disturbed, I prefer the Richard Cheese version.

Sorry KP, but I only use the radio edit for that one.

Definitely agree on the Disturbed song. Such a classic rock track I'm glad you feel the same way I really feel that is the defining song of the "meat head" era of nu metal back around 1998-2002. I know I've heard that Metallica song but I don't remember it for the life of me. As for Disturbed, I prefer the Richard Cheese version. Lol, is that the same guy who also did covers of "Welcome To The Jungle" by Guns N' Roses and "Killing In The Name" by Rage Against The Machine? If so, 98 Rock used to play him and it was hilarious. Sorry KP, but I only use the radio edit for that one. That's funny...I had a discussion earlier with a co-worker about how the album version was the good version.

8) "Rockstar" - NickelbackThe highest of Nickelback's 5 entries comes in at #8. "Rockstar," a song I first heard on Nickelback's Myspace page during the summer of 2006, is a song that I think all of us can relate to. Who doesn't want 15 cars, bodyguards and centerfolds? I know that I do, and I know that I did when I was 15 as well. This song immediately was among my favorites of all-time, and has literally stayed here for 9 years straight. The lyrics are just great, and show that Nickelback does indeed have a sense of humor. Whether singing about cutting your hair and changing your name, or popping pills from a pez despenser, I never grow out of loving these lyrics. The chorus is insanely fun and catchy, and Chad nails the vocals perfectly. I think there's a reason this song was a big hit nearly two years after All The Right Reasons was released, and it boils down to the fact that the song is that damn good. I knew it as a 15 year-old kid nearly a decade ago, and I know it now. I'm guessing this is a song that you guys associate me with, and probably expected to see it here.

Sorry but I'm SO sick of that song to the point where it's unlistenable for me. The lyrics really make me cringe as well.

I wouldn't want a credit card that has no limit, cos I'd have to pay that shit back! It's interesting that this is your favourite from them.

Not my favourite from them, but still a good tune nonetheless.
