Great pick, KP. I don't know the difference between the album version and the remix. Thanks. And the album version sounds very flat compared to the remix. I hadn't actually heard that track before. It's quite nice to listen to Thanks for checking it out. It's definitely an 'M4B' type of song I think; one of those ones we can all agree on.

5) "Schism" - ToolWe enter the top 5 with a song that I admit I once found boring. Tool's biggest hit, this hot weather JAM topped the active rock chart for 11 weeks during the summer of 2001, while also sneaking in a week at #1 on alternative. Clocking in at nearly 7 minutes, it opens with a one-of-a-kind bass-line that sets the stage for one hell of a song. I've called this the ultimate summertime jam (something FreakyFlyBry vehemently disagrees with me about ) and it's certainly up there for me. The intense riffs of the song are great to listening to while walking around on dangerously hot and humid days, something I did a lot of in 2012. Tool have done a lot of songs that I like, but none more than this one which took years to grow on me. It's the highest of their 3 placings.

Over the years I've actually grown to prefer "Vicarious". But this is still a great song, even if they scared me when I was younger lol.

That has to be one of the creepiest music videos. I kinda put it in the same catagory as Prodigy's "Breathe' in the WTF-genre I've never been a fan of Tool, but glad you like it.

I hate them and they suck but I don't think anyone hates Tool as much as FreakyFlyBry.

I can certainly understand liking "Vicarious" more; I did at first too. I think Tool scared a lot of people back then lol. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW TOOL Sorry, but I really, really, HATE that song. I've reiterated why many times so no need to explain again. LOL, I know how you feel. It's always been funny for me to see your reaction to this song because it's not one I would have guessed you'd hate THAT much (the way I would guess that you hate "Wait And Bleed" by Slipknot, for instance). That has to be one of the creepiest music videos. I kinda put it in the same catagory as Prodigy's "Breathe' in the WTF-genre I've never been a fan of Tool, but glad you like it. I just watched the "Breathe" video and it definitely has the same WTF factor that most Tool videos have. You gotta love those closeups of insects, right? I hate them and they suck but I don't think anyone hates Tool as much as FreakyFlyBry. This is what we call fundamental differing.

4) "Cemetery Gates" - PanteraIf there was any doubt regarding the greatness of Dimebag Darryl, and Pantera in general, this song silences it. With some of the most incredible guitar work you'll ever here, this hard-rocking power ballad comes in at #4 on my list. A legendary opening brings you in for a 7-minute spectacular that will keep your attention the entire way through. Phil Anselmo sounds great during the verses, which have some lyrics that I always found easy to relate to. There's something unique about the lighter parts of this song that is hard to describe; they really make me feel a certain way and have me focusing on nothing but the song and the emotions I feel from it. The multi-layering during the solo is incredible. This is my ultimate cold weather jam. It sounds great on a bitter cold, windy day with the sky turning dark.

I'm not a HUGE Pantera fan but that's a great song. Have you ever heard "This Love"? I always really liked that one.

HELLS YES! I'm a wuss and prefer "Floods" but this song is awesome. I thought I was a wuss too, for having "Planet Caravan" and "Cemetery Gates" as opposed to "A New Level" and "Walk" lol. I'm not a HUGE Pantera fan but that's a great song. Have you ever heard "This Love"? I always really liked that one. Yeah, that's a fun one to rock out to!

3) "Nutshell" - Alice in ChainsI learned of this song via a Staind cover on their greatest hits CD. I caught the end of the original on the radio in 2010 and had it on a mixtape in early 2011, when I first started community college. It's been a favorite of mine ever since. Penned by Layne Staley, it means something different to each person who listens to it. Staley's dark words are aided perfectly by the smooth, somber and relaxing feel of the acoustic guitars. "If I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead" is an all-time great rock lyric IMO. I've also derived meaning from the electric guitar solo, which has a much more upbeat and feel-good vibe compared to the rest of the song. I feel like it represents a hope that things can get better. This song has done a lot for me during more unfortunate and darker times. I often find myself humming the guitars to this. I can't see myself ever tiring of it.
