Outstanding #1! I really, really didn't appreciate it at the time, the way I do now! Your list was very entertaining. ;D

23. Janet Jackson - Escapade"Escapade" was one song I vaguely knew at the time of its release (or shortly afterwards - I'm bad with specific memories, I was 7 years old at the time), and always stuck in my head. While I heard a bunch of other Janet songs after this, hearing "Escapade" again helped me realize how good it always was. Janet's had many memorable hits, as shown by this list, but "Escapade" ranks as my favourite from her. YASSSSSS ESCAPADE!

9. No Doubt - Don't SpeakI'd enjoyed their previous 2 singles a lot.. but it was this one that managed to really get my attention. It remained a long-term favourite of mine throughout the end of 1996 and well into 1997... and nothing they've done since has managed to quite capture the greatness of this classic. And no matter how great a song like this has remained, eight songs managed to beat it out! Yassssss at my fav song ever being top 10!

21. Mariah Carey - FantasyI'd enjoyed much of Mariah's stuff before this (particularly during the "Music Box" era), but this was the song that kept me interested in Mariah throughout the mid-90's. The "Daydream" era had among her best ever songs, and for me it ranks as her definitive period in time. And while few songs since then have achieved the same quality, "Fantasy" ranks above them all as Mariah's highest entry in this list. Great pick for your top Mimi song.
