65. Lil' Nas X HOLIDAY
This catchy tune ended up having me sing a long with it at the end of 2021 and even into April despite its vaguely Christmas-y appeal. Although part of its run in my Top 50 was in 2020, it peaked at #5 at the end of January.
64. Ava Max MY HEAD & MY HEART
I wasn't as crazy about this song as I think some of my fellow personal charters were, but even this sugary Pop confection was too much of an earworm for me to ignore for too long. It appeared on my chart in late January 2021 and during its 20-week stint there, it found its way to a peak position of #9.
63. Kane Brown featuring Blackbear MEMORY
While the collaboration of Country superstar, Kane Brown, and indie rap rebel, Blackbear, might not have made sense on paper, it ended up working out pretty well. It just fell off of my personal chart in mid-December 2021 after spending 19 weeks there and ultimately landing a peak spot of #7.
62. AJR BANG!
"Bang!" is a song that I was very late on. It had already wrapped up its promotional run on the U.S. Pop chart and most other personal charters were also starting to move on from it when this quirky song found its way onto my chart. Better late than never is the appropriate saying here. After all, it managed to peak at #12 while appearing on my chart for 19 weeks in the early part of 2021.
61. Megan Thee Stallion THOT SH*T
Sometimes, I just want to put on a party song and shake my thing. Privately, of course. No one wants to see me shake my thing. It wouldn't be a pretty sight. But, "Thot Sh*t" was that sort of song for me in late summer and into the fall. It was in my Top 50 for 19 weeks and was at its peak of #6 for two weeks.
Still to come on the year end list you'll see Megan Thee Stallion again, as well as entries from Sigala, Ed Sheeran, and Tai Verdes. Plus, a tune from The Black Eyed Peas that had me thinking they should've added "(And Quit It)" to the end of the title to make it more spicy and a song that is the exact opposite of being about a scuba diver in space. Stay tuned!

Bang was deffo more 2020 for me, but held on my chart the first few weeks in January. Way Less Sad did better this year obviously.
Good to see Ava make an appearance!

Bang was deffo more 2020 for me, but held on my chart the first few weeks in January. Way Less Sad did better this year obviously. Good to see Ava make an appearance! I think I may have listened to "Bang" two or three times when it was first released, decided I didn't like it, and promptly proceeded to ignore it. But, in January of this year, I had to have my car in the shop and was given a loaner car. In my car, I don't listen to terrestrial radio at all. I only listen to satellite radio and "Bang" wasn't played on any of the stations I frequently have on. But, when I had the loaner car for a few days, I heard "Bang" on the Pop station here. Even though I hadn't liked it a few months before, I suddenly thought it was a cool song. Then, as if the universe was trying to get me to like it enough to put it on my chart, my fave satellite radio station started playing it, so I got to hear it enough to continue liking it. And that's the story of why I started charting "Bang" so late. The End!

60. WizKid featuring Justin Bieber & Tems ESSENCE
I really enjoy the recent trend of World music infiltrating the U.S. mainstream charts. This smoldering collaborations by Nigerian singers, WizKid & Tems, was already stunning. I also enjoyed the version with Justin Bieber added in in a jaded record label attempt to garner a Pop audience (a jaded attempt that worked, by the way). "Essence" is now working its way down my chart after peaking at #5 a few weeks ago.
59. Chlöe HAVE MERCY
Whether acting or singing, R&B singer, Chlöe Bailey, usually works with her sister, Halle. In fact, the duo had a hit on my chart in 2020 ("Do It"), which landed them at #8 on my 2020 year end chart. In 2021, Chlöe struck out on her own for a solo project and scored an R&B and JT50 hit. "Have Mercy" is still on my chart. Actually, it just finished up a three-week stay in its peak position of #2 a couple weeks before the eligibility period for this year end chart ended.
58. Justin Bieber HOLD ON
During early spring 2021, there were a flurry of singles released from Justin Bieber's Justice album. "Hold On" was released while "Holy," "Lonely," and "Peaches" were all over the airwaves. Even though I liked all three of those, I still found myself drawn to "Hold On," which was more uptempo than "Peaches," less morose than "Lonely," and not as schmaltzy as "Holy." I appreciated that. That appreciation translated into a peak of #8 during a 21-week stay on my personal chart.
57. Wale featuring Chris Brown ANGLES
Although I don't blindly like every song he releases, I've always been a supporter of Wale, who hails from my hometown, Washington, D.C. I liked that "Angles" was musically different from many of the other songs coming out of the Hip-Hop genre this year. It also didn't hurt that it sampled P. Diddy's 2001 hit, "I Need A Girl (Part 1)" (the one with Usher, not the one with Ginuwine and Mario Winans). "Angles" has just recently fallen out of my Top 50 after spending 21 weeks there and reaching a peak of #6.
56. Justin Bieber GHOST
The latest single from Justin Bieber (if Dua Lipa released 300 singles from her last album, Justin's probably released 275, lol!) was a big hit on my chart in the last quarter of 2021. "Ghost" is still on my Top 50. And, as of the chart ending 12/24/21, was spending a fourth week in the #1 spot. I can practically guarantee you'll see it on next year's year end chart. But, will it still be #1 when I post the 12/31/21 chart?

55. Sigala featuring James Arthur LASTING LOVER
Some of the most interesting songs result from pairings of people who wouldn't think would work together: Run-DMC and Aerosmith, Eminem and Dido, mayonnaise and ketchup... Somehow, they just work! Such is the case with EDM producer Sigala and folksy Acoustic Pop singer/songwriter, James Arthur. "Lasting Lover" ended up peaking at #6 on my chart and lingered into June after debuting in late December 2020.
54. Megan Thee Stallion BODY
On last year's year end chart, "Body" had been on my chart long enough to make the Top 150, but not long enough to hit the Top 100. This year, it's a whole new world for this body positive anthem after spending two weeks in its peak position of #4 back in March.
53. T-Pain & Kehlani I LIKE DAT
Although he's continued to record and release music (and had a successful stint on the U.S. version of The Masked Singer, winning the season he competed), it had been over a decade since T-Pain had appeared on any of the mainstream industry charts. While "I Like Dat" wasn't a huge commercial hit, it did make an impact on my chart. Appearing at the end of the summer and lasting into the fall, it was around for 22 weeks, which included rising as far as #4. By the way, how many artists sample themselves in their own song? ("I Like Dat" samples T-Pain's most-remembered hit, 2007's "Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin').") I'm sure it doesn't happen too often.
52. DJ Khaled featuring Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Lil' Baby, & DaBaby I DID IT
The singles from DJ Khaled's latest album were not as successful as those from his previous two releases. But one song that did attract my attention was "I Did It" with its sample of the memorable Duane Allman guitar riff from Derek & The Dominos' hit, "Layla." "I Did It" ended up "doing it" on my chart...as in, peaking at #7 and charting in my Top 50 for 22 weeks.
51. BTS BUTTER
Pancakes, anyone? K-Pop darlings, BTS, had a worldwide smash and a JT50 hit over the summer with "Butter." It was in my Top 50 for 22 weeks and managed to claw its way to a peak of #5.
Oh wow. We've reached the Top 50! To celebrate that fact, coming up you'll see songs by Machine Gun Kelly, Normani, and Anitta. Plus, The Kid Laroi and Lil' Nas X both make another appearance and you'll see a song from the 90s that became a viral TikTok sensation in the spring and summer months. All that and more is on the way!

50. Ed Sheeran SHIVERS
The latest official single from Ed Sheeran's newest album was a big favorite of mine in the last half of 2021. It debuted in September, is still on the Top 50, and was in its peak position of #3 for four weeks straddling late November and early December.
49. Yung Bleu featuring Chris Brown BADDEST
As far as up and coming rappers go, Yung Bleu is one that I think could have a bright future ahead of him. "Baddest" was probably my favorite of the handful of tracks he released as singles this year. It's just a week or two away from falling off of my personal chart. Right now, it's in its 20th week, having peaked at #2 back in October.
48. Dua Lipa LOVE AGAIN
Sampling Lew Stone and his Monseigneur Band's 1932 song, "My Woman" (also popularly sampled in White Town's 1997 single, "Your Woman,"), the final (?) single from Dua Lipa's Future Nostalgia album had a decent run on my chart. It spent 22 weeks in the Top 50 and peaked at #3, where it enjoyed a two-week stay.
47. Elton John & Dua Lipa COLD HEART
From Elton John's recent collaborations album, The Lockdown Sessions, "Cold Heart" is a neat mashup of three of his popular singles ("Sacrifice," "Rocket Man," and "Kiss The Bride") and one deep cut from his album tracks ("Where's The Shoorah?"). Although it took me a minute to completely warm up to it, I ended up really loving the song. It's still on my Top 50, working its way downward. But a few weeks ago, it topped out at #2.
46. Justin Bieber LONELY
The more vulnerable side of Justin Bieber pulled at my heartstrings in the early part of 2021. "Lonely" made its debut a couple months before the end of 2021, so if it's at #46 with that kind of handicap, imagine where it might have placed on this chart if its entire run had been in this calendar year? In mid-January, it spent two weeks at #1 on my chart, making it the lowest ranked song on the list to have spent any time at #1.

45. The Black Eyed Peas featuring Saweetie & Lele Pons HIT IT
I'll admit it. I'm a BEP fan. I have been since the late 90s before many others had even heard of them yet, so it's been gratifying to see them have a little bit of a resurgence in popularity over the past couple years. "Hit It" is a funky little earworm that definitely burrowed into me in the last half of the year. It's still working its way off of my chart at this point in its 19th week, but it did spent three weeks at its peak of #4 a couple months ago.
44. Robin Thicke TAKE ME HIGHER
"Take Me Higher" was Robin Thicke's first time working with Pharrell again in roughly seven years. For several years prior, the two had been close collaborators, Thicke finding a home on Star Track, the record label Pharrell ran with his Neptunes production partner, Chad Hugo. Although it wasn't commercially popular, I really enjoyed the uptempo "Take Me Higher." It logged in a three-week stint at its peak of #8 and stayed inside my Top 50 for 24 weeks.
43. Machine Gun Kelly & Blackbear MY EX'S BEST FRIEND
Machine Gun Kelly's turn from Rap to Rock over the past couple years seems to have worked for him and given him more opportunity for industry chart success. I liked this release from late 2020. It spent several weeks on my chart in that year, so it isn't really reaching its full potential on this list. But, it did ascend to it's peak position of #6 in March.
42. Tai Verdes A-O-K
Every once in a while, a song that you wouldn't think would be a big hit comes out of left field. "A-O-K" is one of those songs, in my opinion. Who would've predicted it? The first time I listened to it, I wasn't sure I'd like it. But, after a few more listens, I was a fan. It just fell out of my Top 50 a few weeks ago, wrapping up a 23-week stay that included a peak of #2.
41. Masked Wolf ASTRONAUT IN THE OCEAN
"Astronaut In The Ocean" had already been a single release for Australian rapper, Masked Wolf, in 2019. Thanks to TikTok, there was renewed interest in it this year. The second time around was the charm for it worldwide AND on my chart. It peaked at #3 for a two-week stay and logged in 22 weeks on my Top 50.
Still to come on the Top 150: Pop Smoke samples Ginuwine, Doja Cat craves knowledge, some dude from England pretends to be a band and goes and on about the weather (I think...), and much, much more.

Omg you are right about Dua and Justin just smashing out the singles one after the other. Oh the era of streaming, huh? I want to add Taylor to that list, except she does it with entire albums on TOP of rerecording her entire back catalogue during her pandamic free-time And OMG to "Body" making it here. Me and my ex were laughing our asses off because we kept playing "Body" followed by "Up" over and over and attempting to twerk the house down in the process (he has a much better ass than me)

Me and my ex were laughing our asses off because we kept playing "Body" followed by "Up" over and over and attempting to twerk the house down in the process (he has a much better ass than me) I'm sure you did just as well in the twerking department as he did. I bet the old saying "it's not the size of the rise, but the motion of the ocean" might apply in this situation. Or not, lol! Yes. It seems like, more and more often, the days when it's planned-out how many singles will be released from an album, what they'll be, and when they're be released are gone. Now, any song that fans really latch onto when an album comes out might end up being a single. In some ways, I like that idea. But, the creature of habit in me does miss knowing that I'll get to hear four or five different songs on the radio or wherever else from an artist's album over the span of a year or a year and a half.

40. Tiesto featuring Ty Dolla Sign THE BUSINESS (PT. II)
An alternate mix of this late winter 2021 release from DJ/producer, Tiesto, ended up catching my ears. The song manged to spend four weeks at its peak of #6 and left my Top 50 after spending 23 weeks there.
39. KSI featuring Craig David REALLY LOVE
I probably wouldn't have heard this song by British rapper and entertainer, KSI, if my favorite satellite radio station hadn't played it for a few weeks in the early half of the year. But, after hearing it, I was hooked. Plus, it was nice to hear from Craig David again. It had been several years since I'd heard his voice on a song. "Really Love" was REALLY successful on my personal chart, peaking at #4 during a 23-week run.
38. The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber STAY
The most recent single from Australian rapper/singer, The Kid Laroi, is still in my Top 50 in its 23rd week, just a couple weeks away from falling off after peaking at #3 a few months ago.
37. Lil' Nas X & Jack Harlow INDUSTRY BABY
For any Rap purist who thought of Lil' Nas X as a novelty artist or someone who is more popular for being outrageous and provocative than his music or his skills, "Industry Baby" might have gone a long way toward changing your mind. I'm not a Rap purist or any kind of purist. I just like music and if a song moves me, it moves me. I don't need each song I like to possess or meet certain criteria. But, the criteria this collaboration with fellow rapper, Jack Harlow, did meet was a three-week peak in the #2 spot on my Top 50 chat. It's still working its way down my chart as of this posting.
36. Normani featuring Cardi B WILD SIDE
"Wild Side" is another song that is still in my Top 50 as of this posting after 22 weeks. I don't think it was the kind of hit song on the charts that it could've been, but it was most definitely a JT50 hit, creeping slowly up my chart until it logged-in a three-week stay at #10 before retreating just as slowly as it climbed upward.

35. Riton & Nightcrawlers featuring Mufasa & Hypeman FRIDAY
I couldn't help but fall in love with this re-working of The Nightcrawlers' 1992 hit, "Push The Feeling On." "Friday" became a viral hit after being used in several videos and memes created by duo Mufasa and Hypeman in 2020 to help people cope with the pandemic. Having said that, I will admit that I wasn't a huge fan at first. Eventually, my common sense won out and it turned into a success on my chart, hanging around for 25 weeks and managing a peak of #6.
34. Pop Smoke WHAT YOU KNOW 'BOUT LOVE?
This cool little R&B gem by late rapper, Pop Smoke, samples Ginuwine's 2001 hit, "Differences." It had already been on my chart for a few weeks at the end of 2020, but did end up peaking at #4 in early March of this year.
33. Fat Joe featuring Amorphous SUNSHINE (THE LIGHT)
This fun reworking of Luther Vandross' "Never Too Much," coupled with Rihanna's "Kiss It Better" by DJ Amorphous was just what I needed in late winter and into the spring this year. I love a modern take on an old school R&B song. "Sunshine (The Light)" was on my Top 50 for 23 weeks and peaked at #2, where it spent two weeks.
32. Anitta GIRL FROM RIO
Forget "The Girl From Ipanema"...or, don't forget that song after all, since "Girl From Rio" samples it. However, "Girl From Rio," a woefully underappreciated Rhythmic Pop song, was on my Top 50 for 23 weeks over the summer and into the fall. Maybe I didn't even appreciate it as much as I should have either. After all, it only peaked as high as #5. But maybe the fact that it spent two weeks there makes up for the fact that I didn't get it to #1.
31. Dua Lipa WE'RE GOOD
Released around the same time that "Levitating" was busy achieving worldwide dominance, I think "We're Good" perhaps got overlooked a little bit. I enjoyed this fun and sarcastic song about a relationship doomed from the start and the casual way to end it. If only it was that easy in real life. Am I right?! Anyway... "We're Good" ended up spending 24 weeks on my chart and went as high as #6.
We're getting closer to #1, but there are still 29 more songs to reveal before I tell you what my #1 song of the year is. Among those you'll see on the way are songs by Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Doja Cat, and Ariana Grande. Billie Eilish will make another appearance as well as...you guessed it: Justin Bieber. All those and more coming up!

30. Glass Animals HEAT WAVES
British Indie Pop band, Glass Animals, scored at hit on my chart over the summer with "Heat Waves," which I feel like is probably NOT about the weather. Just a hunch I have... At any rate, it hung around for 24 weeks and ended up peaking at #5.
29. Doja Cat NEED TO KNOW
I first heard this knowledge-seeking single from Doja Cat several months ago right before "You Right" was released. I decided to hold off on charting it until after "You Right" got released as was established on my chart. When "Need To Know" did make its debut, it was apparently well worth the wait. It spent four weeks at #1 in November and is still dropping down my Top 50.
28. Silk Sonic SKATE
The entire Silk Sonic project seems to be a throwback to music of the 70s, particularly Soul music of the 70s. "Skate" was a funky and uptempo answer to the duo's first release and kept most of us (at least me) waiting with baited breath for the entire album. While "Skate" didn't end up hitting #1 on my chart (it was blocked by a song you'll see inside the Top 20), it did spend three weeks at #2. It's currently in its 22nd week in my Top 50, working its way down.
27. Ariana Grande POSITIONS
"Positions" had debuted on my personal chart several weeks before the end of 2020 and was already inside the Top 5 by the time 2021 rolled around. Nevertheless, it persisted and ended up spending two weeks at #1 in late January/early February before eventually falling out of the Top 50 in late May. I can only imagine where it would've landed on a year end chart if it had its entire run within a single calendar year.
26. Roddy Ricch LATE AT NIGHT
"Late At Night," a Trap Rap song by up and coming rapper, Roddy Ricch, did big things on my chart over the summer and into the fall. It was there for 23 weeks and spent one of those in the #1 spot.

25. H.E.R. & Chris Brown COME THROUGH2021 was a big year for Soul singer, H.E.R. This pretty duet with Chris Brown, is definitely not the last time you'll see her on this year end chart. "Come Through" was in the Top 50 for an impressive 27 weeks and reached a peak of #7. 24. Ariana Grande 34+35I keep trying to give up sexual innuendos, but it's hard. It's SO hard. ( ) I love a good sexual innuendo song...and this one is definitely that. Like "Positions" a few spots ago, this one was already on my chart by the time the calendar changed to 2021. It might not have been in the Top 5 like "Positions" was, but it WAS in the Top 10 at the time. Eventually, it held the top spot for three weeks and fell off of my chart around the same time as "Positions" did. 23. Marshmello featuring Jonas Brothers LEAVE BEFORE YOU LOVE METhe Jonas Brothers aren't exactly the first act I'd predict would collaborate with an EDM DJ on a song, but the end project worked really well for me, obviously. It spent one week at #1 and logged in 25 weeks on the Top 50. 22. Ed Sheeran BAD HABITSI didn't realize how much I needed new music from Ed Sheeran until I heard "Bad Habits" a few months ago. I like the new EDM-oriented direction with this new project of his. My chart for the week of 12/24/21 is likely its last week in the Top 50, meaning it will likely have spent 25 weeks on the chart and ended up with an impressive three-week stint in the #1 spot. 21. D-Nice featuring Ne-Yo & Kent Jones NO PLANS FOR LOVERadio and Club DJ, D-Nice, became something of an online celebrity in the early months of the pandemic last year, putting on online dance parties through Zoom and other platforms for people to attend to let loose and de-stress (if only for a little while), lovingly dubbed "Club Quarantine." Although he'd released some music in the 80s and early 90s, he'd left that world behind, until the release of "No Plans For Love" earlier this year. A throwback to old school R&B and Pop of the 70s and 80s just like his Club Quarantine parties, "No Plans For Love" had me as an immediate fan. This one wasn't really on the mainstream radar, so it's likely that most of the people who read this thread won't have heard it. But that's okay. I'm happy with the 27 weeks it was on my Top 50 with a peak position of #4. We're getting ready to crack the Top 20. I'm pretty excited about it and I hope you are too! As we get closer to #1, you'll see Maroon 5 and Regard, plus more entries from Doja Cat, Ariana Grande, and Silk Sonic. And I did tease Miley Cyrus and The Weeknd earlier. They're both on the way, too, along with more JT50 2021 hits!
