Season 2, Episode 3: “Dreaming Of You”
Last time on The House Of Randomness, Kim invited his 73-year-old friend from Florida, Mary Ann, to the House Of Randomness to annoy Chris Brown to the point where he stormed out of the house. Afterwards, drama occurred online as the social media guy for Kim’s new radio station, ACIndie, was posting offensive memes on Facebook – and, on top of that, Kim got into a social media feud with competitor radio station The Dog’s DJ, Walby. Oh, and Matt is still mad at Julian.
It’s night time, and the gang decides to hit the clubs – after a stressful last few days between flights, driving, and Chris Brown, they needed it!
As the group go to the club, security stops Mikaela as she tries to go in.
“Excuse me m’am, how old are you?” the security guy says.
Mikaela responds, “I am 16 years old.”
“Sorry, but you have to be 21 or over to come into the club.”
“But… I made a playlist of great new music that I wanted the DJ to play.”
“He’ll play it when you’re 21. Now scram!”
As Mikaela storms out and goes back to the house, Jess, whose partying with Julian in her new designer dress from Versace, gets a text from Mikaela that reads:
“I’m so angry. I wanted to go into the club but they kicked me out for being 16. That is SO not cool.”
Julian says, “Oh no! I forgot that she was underage. Too bad because I was really looking forward to hearing that new music playlist that she was hyping up.”
Bryan chimes in and responds, “Who looks forward to new music in 2016? This year sucks! ”
Then Mike B. chimes in and says, “This year is only half way done. Why are you judging a year based on the first couple months? There’s plenty of time for music you enjoy to come out,” he then realized that he left his phone at the house, “Sorry guys, I have to go back to the house and get my phone. I’ll catch you guys in a few! Make sure you don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
All of a sudden, the music stops and the DJ starts talking.
“Hey everyone, hope you’re having a great night! So as I was coming here tonight, I found a CD that some 16 year old girl left that said “New music” on it. 2016 has given us some great clubbing jams this year, so I’m going to play this CD of new music and hope you guys like it!”
The DJ starts playing the CD, and everyone in the club, including the DJ, have confused looks on their faces when they start hearing the 1985 Simple Minds hit, “Alive And Kicking”.
“I love this NEW SONG!” Brady says sarcastically.
“Um… how is this new? This was a #3 hit in 1985. It is a bop though.” Adam says.
The DJ then says, “Hmmm, maybe she accidentally slipped that one in there. Let me put on the next track.” The next track ended up being “Rag Doll” by Aerosmith.
Adam says, “This isn’t new either! This was a #17 bop from 1988. Now onto more important things – where is Yaki-Da on this CD?!”
The DJ says, “Maybe the next track will be new.”
It wasn’t - in fact, it wasn’t even anything remotely dance – it was the 1997 hit “Immortality” by Celine Dion & the Bee Gees.
“Ooh, Celine! Keep this on!” John says.
“Okay but where’s the active rock goodness?” Cody says.
“Mikaela has a very weird definition of “new”. She should just flaunt it.” Sam says.
The DJ stops the CD and goes back to playing actual new music – David Guetta, Calvin Harris, all that crap. Then the gang complains and he puts on disco music like Donna Summer and the Bee Gees and we all live happily ever after… that is, until about an hour later.
Matt is at the bar drinking, when Julian comes up to him.
“…Hey.” Julian says.
“Hi, cheater.” Matt responds.
“Are you really gonna stay mad at me forever?”
“Yes.”
“But remember the good times we had! Like when we prank called Jess pretending to be Lita Ford and we convinced her that she was mad at Jess for liking Grace Slick more. Or our first date when we went to the Italian restaurant and ended up having Chinese food with the ultra-talented Allison Gold!”
Julian starts getting louder to the point where the entire club could hear him.
“I TOLD YOU I WAS SORRY! WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!”
Julian storms out of the club and goes back to the house. After a few seconds of shock and silence, Mike B. comes back and says, “What am I missing? A debate? YESSSSS!”
Matt starts feeling guilty, feeling that he might’ve been too hard on Julian. Later that night, once everyone leaves the club and goes to sleep, he dreams about Julian.
“Julian, I can’t believe I was mad at you for so long. We feel so right together. I love you.”
“I love you too, Matt. Now shut up and kiss me!” Julian responds.
The two kiss and are about to sleep together, when Matt hears this annoying sound.
“Matt? Matt? MATT?”
It’s Jess trying to wake him up. Matt goes back into reality and looks at Jess.
“It’s 12 in the afternoon! Wake up sleepyhead!”
Matt wakes up with a terrible hangover. He goes into Julian’s room, where he is – you guessed it – watching Mariah Carey interviews where she throws shade at other female artists.
As Matt approaches him, Julian says, “What do YOU want?”
Matt responds, “I’m sorry… I was too harsh on you. It was three years ago and your apologies seem very sincere.”
“Yeah but it’s STILL not good enough for you!”
“…Yes it is. I love you, Julian.”
Julian is shocked at what he heard, he looks at Matt and says, “I love you too, Matt.”
The two start making out with Mariah’s shade in the background.
Meanwhile, Jess and Kim have been spending more and more time together working on ACIndie – Jess has not only been handing the station’s social media which is now drama-free, but the two of them have also been working on station jingles together. For the next few days Jess and Kim spend a lot of time together listening to ACIndie. One day, Jess and Julian go out for lunch together and catch up.
“So, how are things between you and Matt?” Jess asks.
“Things are going wonderful! We went on a movie date last night and it was so fun! And have I mentioned before how HOT he is?” Julian answers.
“No, I don’t recall,” Jess replies sarcastically.
“How have you been?”
“Well, there’s something I need to tell you...”
“What is it?”
“This is going to sound REALLY weird…”
“Girl, spill the beans!”
“…I think I like Kim.”
What will happen between Jess and Kim? Will Mattian stay together this time or will something else get in the way again? And will Mikaela ever chart a current song? Tune in again next week to find out, on THE HOUSE OF RANDOMNESS!
