Here we go! ;D We're up to the 40 biggest songs of the year on G's Weekly Top 40! Accompanying these songs will be a brief commentary. Why, you ask? Well - BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT! (I miss the old middle finger smilie... ) Let's keep rollin'! Here are numbers 40-35! 40. Brooke Hogan - Everything To Me. Pk: #8+.I'm everything you want, I'm everything you need, and every little part of you, is a part of me...Brooke Hogan debuts onto the scene with one of the years catchiest tunes. Reminiscent of what pop music was like just a few years ago, this song was an obvious hit right from the start. It got up to number 8 just recently, and will likely continue rising in 2005. 39. Dido - Sand In My Shoes. Pk: #7+.I've still got sand in my shoes And I can't shake the thought of you I should get on, forget you But why would I want to?Upon purchasing Dido's sophomore effort, "Life For Rent", this song immediately stood out. It delivers a very catchy tune, and Dido's fabulous lyrics. Nothing less can be expected of Ms. Armstrong - and this song will undoubtedly continue to shine in 2005, as it continues its ride to the top. 38. Blink-182 - I Miss You. Pk: #4.Where are you and I'm so sorry I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight I need somebody and always This sick strange darkness Comes creeping on so haunting every time...Blink-182's "I Miss You" is a raw ballad. The guys of Blink-182 are singing to a lost love, all the while using numerous parables. And adding to this song was a fantastic music video. It was without surprise that these guys managed a top 5 hit. 37. Jessica Simpson - Angels. Pk: #7.I've been told that salvation lets their wings unfold So when I'm lying in my bed And thoughts are running through my head And I feel that love is dead I'm loving angels instead...Pop princess Jessica Simpson's fourth release from "In This Skin" was a cover of Robbie William's "Angels". This song wasted no time in hitting the top 10. Jessica's vocals - from her raspy, screams to her crooning - emphasized Jessica's passion in singing this ballad. 36. Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue. Pk: #3.There's a piece of you that's here with me It's everywhere I go, it's everything I see When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by I can make believe that you're here tonight...Yellowcard's "Ocean Avenue" was one of those songs that you couldn't help but sing along to. They surprisingly managed a top 5 hit. Not bad for a debut.
