Here are numbers 35-31! Things are definitely heating up! ;D 35. Maria Mena - You're The Only One. Pk: #7. I guess there's just a part of me that likes to bring you down Just to keep you around Cuz the day you realize how amazing you are You're gonna leave me Norwegian singer Maria Mena has this years #35 song. A comedic yet raw mid-tempo ballad, this song shows a lot of promise for Maria. 34. Black Eyed Peas - Let's Get It Started. Pk: #4. Lose control, of body and soul. Don't move too fast, people, just take it slow. Don't get ahead, just jump into it. Ya'll here a body, two pieces to it. The Black Eyed Peas deliver one of the funnest dance tracks of the year. From the infectious chorus to the "just-party" message delivered in the verses, this song was an immediate smash. 33. Sheryl Crow - The First Cut Is The Deepest. Pk: #3. I still want you by my side Just to help me dry the tears that I've cried But I'm sure gonna give you a try Cuz if you want I'll try to love again Sheryl Crow's "The First Cut Is The Deepest", which was #97 on last year's year-end chart, is a cover - but fear not, Sheryl has done this one very nicely. Not only does she revive this former hit, but she makes it believable. You can actually feel her vulnerability. This song was, understandably, huge, spending numerous weeks at #3. 32. Destiny's Child - Lose My Breath. Pk: #6+. If you can't make me say OOOH! Like the beat of this groove You don't have no business in this Here's your papers Baby you are dismissed... The ladies of Destiny's Child re-emerged onto the scene with a club-banger that even Ashanti would say is "bananaz!!!". The beat has you shaking your booty for the entire length of this song, and you can't help but sing along, whether you'd like to or not. Quite a promising hit. 31. Ashanti - Only U. Pk: #3+. You got me doing things that I would never do And I can't stop the way I'm feelin' if I wanted to I'm crazy 'bout the way you that you could make me say your name And if I couldn't have you I would probably go insane...Ashanti is already on her third effort. And this release is quite impressive. The beat is "bananaz!!!", as Ashanti herself has proclaimed. Lots of booty-shaking going on here. And you can't help but sing along with Ashanti, as you hear her tell a lover that they are the only one. Ashanti's biggest hit on G's Weekly Top 40, to date, this song lives up to Ashanti's title as the Princess.

30. Black Eyed Peas - Hey Mama. Pk: #7.Off the Richter! Off the Richter! Steady, are you ready?! Hey mama, it's that beat that make ya groove mama Get on the floor and move ya booty mama...
The Black Eyed Peas were really on fire this year, releasing one hot booty-shaking song after the other! This song was no different. Everywhere you went, you would hear "Get on the floor and move your booty mama!". It was pretty hard to dislike this song, and proof of that is their staying power in the top 10, on G's Weekly Top 40. 29. Three Days Grace - (I Hate) Everything About You. Pk: #4.I hate everything about you Why do I love you? I hate everything about you Why do I love you?Three Days Grace delivered one of the raunchiest tunes of the year, with "(I Hate) Everything About You". This song debued into the top 10, and went on to be one of the biggest top 5 hits of the year, spending a number of weeks at #4. 28. Beyonce - Naughty Girl. Pk: #2.Baby the minute I feel your energy Your vibe's just taken over me Start feelin' so crazy babe Lately, I feel the funk comin' over me I don't know what's gotten into me The rhythm's got me feelin so crazy babe...Last year, Beyonce had two songs in the top 20, including "Crazy In Love", which finished out the year at #8. This year, however, Beyonce's highest showing is at #28. "Naughty Girl" got all the way up to #2 earlier this year, and would've gone all the way if Ashlee Simpson and Alicia Keys, who are both on the way, wouldn't have debued at numbers 3 and 2, respectively. Helping out this song was one of Beyonce's trademark sexy videos. What guy can resist a half-naked Beyonce in a flute of champagne?! 27. Kelis - Milkshake. Pk: #3.Oh, once you get involved, Everyone will look this way-so, You must maintain your charm, Same time maintain your halo..Everywhere you went this year, you would hear someone singing along to Kelis and her "Milkshake" - from the highway, where people had this song blasting, to "Mean Girls", where Regina's sister was doing an impromptu dance to this song. Providing a highly sexy video, with innuendo's all over the song's lyrics (Hell, the whole song is an innuendo!), this tune spent a number of weeks at #3, including three weeks in 2003. 26. No Doubt - It's My Life. Pk: #2.And I've asked myself How much do you commit yourself? Oh, it's my life! Don't you forget!Along with their Greatest Hits CD, No Doubt provided this tune, a cover of Talk Talk's "It's My Life". With a highly comical yet sexy video, No Doubt managed to hold on to #2 for a number of weeks, including 3 weeks in 2003. This song kept Kelis from peaking any higher, but was itself held back by another song, which is yet to come.

25. Jessica Simpson - With You. Pk: #5.Cause with you I can let my hair down I can say anything crazy I know you'll catch me right before I hit the ground With nothing but a T-shirt on I never felt so beautiful Baby as I do now Now that I'm with you2004 was a year for Jessica Simpson to prove herself as a talented musician. And Jessica did not disappoint. "With You", her first Top 40 #1, did not hit #1 on my chart, but still shone through, having shown lots of staying power in the top 10. This is Jessica's second of 3 showings on this year-end chart. 24. Ciara ft. Petey Pablo - Goodies. Pk: #4.I bet you want the goodies Bet you thought about it Got you all hot and bothered Mad cause I talk about them Lookin for the goodies Keep on lookin' cuz they stay in the jar Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-oh Oh-ohCiara debued onto the scene with "Goodies", one of those "you're-not-getting-into-my-pants-so-whatever" songs. This song wasted no time in hitting the top 10, and when it did, it stayed there for some time. "Goodies" was only recently retired - and grudgingly, at that. Ciara struck gold with this one, from the hot beat to her sexy, whispering vocals. She looks like she'll stick around. 23. Nelly ft. Christina Aguilera - Tilt Ya Head Back. Pk: #2+.It’s just so easy to see You came here looking for me But I don’t do that type of thing all the time, yeah...Nelly's biggest hit on G's Weekly Top 40, to date, is "Tilt Ya Head Back". The song sounds delightfully different from anything you can hear on radio right now, and not only that, but the vocals are pretty good, especially Ms. Aguilera's sexy singing. This song has you singing along from beginning to end, before you realize it. 22. Avril Lavigne - Don't Tell Me. Pk: #4.This guilt trip that you put me on won't mess me up I've done no wrong Any thoughts of you and me have gone away...Pouting pop star (Did I just call Avril a pop star? *Hides* ) Avril Lavigne re-emerged onto the scene with a trademark "whatever-I-say-goes-and-boys-stink" song. "Don't Tell Me" contains Avril telling a guy off. "You're not getting into my pants, dammit!" is what the song is essentially saying. And damn if it isn't catchy as hell. This song introduced Avril Lavigne's harder, more mature sound. And quite frankly, it's impressive. This is Avril's second of three showings on this chart. 21. Christina Aguilera ft. Missy Elliott - Car Wash. Pk: #3+.Come summer the work gets kind of hard This ain't no place to be if you're planning on being a star Let me tell you it's always cool And the boss don't mind sometimes if you're acting like a foolChristina Aguilera has chosen to take a step back and relax this summer. Having released a cover of Rose Royce's "Car Wash" for the soundtrack to "A Shark Tale", Christina is showing that she still has it in her to release a fun song - all the while with her spectacular vocals. From her "ooh ooh ooh's" to her "do do do do do do's", this song was a hit from the start. And not only that - this song is the reason why G's Weekly Top 40 contains the songs it does today. Prior to this, the chart was just a rearranging of the current top 40 according to my tastes. On the week this song was about to drop, I decided I didn't need to follow the top 40 - I could choose whatever the hell I wanted! And wow, that proved to be an awesome decision! Christina's always been a hitmaker on G's Weekly Top 40, having had all 4 of her 2003 singles off of "Stripped" on the 2003 year-end chart. Very impressive, Christina. Very impressive.

20. Britney Spears - Everytime. Pk: #3.Everytime I try to fly I fall without my wings I feel so small I guess I need you baby...Britney Spears was on a roll. She managed two hits prior to this song, and then had this song debut into the top 10. After experiencing a bit of turbulence, Britney managed to take this song all the way into the top 5. This ballad was indeed a masterpiece, and it's no surprise it was as successful as it was. 19. Seether ft. Amy Lee - Broken. Pk: #1 (1 Week)+.'Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome And I don't feel right when you're gone away...Seether and Amy Lee's "Broken" was one of those sleeper hits. No one expected this song to be a huge success over on Pop. But it was. And in the midst of doing so, they managed to claim a week atop G's Weekly Top 40. Not a bad feat for a newcomer that wasn't meant to be. 18. Vanessa Carlton - White Houses. Pk: #2+.My first time, hard to explain Rush of blood, oh, and a little bit of pain On a cloudy day, it's more common than you think He's my first mistake...Vanessa Carlton returned to the music scene with one of the wittiest, catchiest little pop tunes of the year. These are three minutes of pure pop bliss, as Vanessa tells the story of a young woman who regrets losing her virginity. It's not so much the topic that sells this song - it's the witty way in which Vanessa manages to tell the story. Oh yes, Ms. Carlton definitely struck gold with this here beauty. 17. Liz Phair - Extraordinary. Pk: #1 (2 Weeks).See me jump through hoops for you You stand there watching me performing What exactly do you do? Have you ever thought it's you that's boring? Who the hell are you?Liz Phair's follow-up to her delicious "Why Can't I?" was a song filled with both attitude and vulnerability. Liz is asking her prospective partner to notice her. She's trying hard as hell to get this guy to see her, but he just won't. And when Liz realizes this, it comes along with the realization that maybe this idiot doesn't deserve her after all. Along with the fabulous story that Liz tells comes some production from The Matrix, making this hit indeed extraordinary. 16. Evanescence - My Immortal. Pk: #2.When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears I held your hand through all of these years But you still have All of me...After delivering their monster hit, "Bring Me To Life", Evanescence returned to Pop with this beautiful ballad. Amy Lee's vocals work to bring chills up your spine each time you hear this - and not in a bad way - allowing you to witness her hurt and pain. Accompanied by a piano for most of the song, this song is truly a ballad. Such a beautiful vocal performance along with the proper music propelled Evanescence all the way to #2, with their biggest hit on G's Weekly Top 40, to date.
