Okay, back to the commentary (just to bore you all ) I couldn't really be bothered with the commentary from 200 onward because it just takes up so much time, but hey this will be over before I know it AND I feel like I should explain why these are the tracks that made my Top 100 from when I first started recording my personal charts in 1996. I used to have an entire points system going on when I first started where the points would be added to the main chart I had each week. It made debuts hard to chart initially so I had to figure out an 'average'-type system to see where they'd debut. I was only 12 years old in 1996, so wasn't really that sure what I was doing, and it was all handwritten back then on A4 sheets of paper written in pen. I then realised using pencil's saved a load of paper (which I was stealing from my dad's office ) so I moved to that for a while. Each and every week, I'd work out my points and even had it downpacked to the point where I'd use another sheet of blank paper to cover up the results on the main chart once the points were added, so that even I didn't know what the top 10 was going to be. Oh to be a kid again. Such an imagination. Now I am 32, and have calculated my most successful songs from every chart in recollection to come up with my favourite 1500 for the 18 years between 1996 and 2014. I have finally reached my Top 100 of those songs! Pretty exciting. I'll shut up now and get on with it, but I just wanted to say how big of a role music has played in my childhood growing up and into adulthood. I can reveal that 2/3's of my Top 100 are female artists (66) Without further-a-do, I bring you my Top 100 songs
100 Christina Aguilera - "Genie In A Bottle" (1999)To be absolutely honest with you, it took me a while to get into this pop debut from XTina. it was only other people liking it that I decided there must be more to this from the initial listen, and boy oh boy and I glad I did. It was a lot harder to find music back then (especially living in a rural area) so I'd just have to wait it out for the radio to play it, or wait for it on Rage when they did their Top 50 countdown every weekend. That was how I saw all my music video's and knew what Christina looked like. Quite a stunner and a really solid debut single This is her 11th solo entry in my Top 1500 and her 14th all up. She still has my favourite to come! 99
Backstreet Boys - "I Want It That Way" (1999)1999 is owning the bottom of the Top 100 at the moment! Another brilliant song from that year comes from arguably one of the biggest boy-band from the 90's. I loved the harmonizing! This is their 10th entry and they also have my favourite to come. Where will it appear?
98
Holly Valance - "Kiss Kiss" (2002) Okay, I didn't realize this was a cover song, of a cover song But hell this was catchy stuff! Not to mention she went starkers naked in parts of the music video PHEWIE. Tryna confuse me, girl! That's it for Holly! It's my favourite song by her. She had one other, with "Down Boy", WAY back at #1441.
97 Puff Johnson - "Over And Over" (1996)
I only heard this song because it was on one of the very first compilation albums I ever bought. I'm pretty sure it was called "Ground Zero", or it may have been a "Hit Machine", I can't even remember it was that long ago. But I remember hearing this and being absolutely blown away. Just wowzers! This is Puff's ONLY entry to my countdown, and what a position to make it to It makes me sad reading the Youtube comments on this music video, because she is no longer with us Thank-you for leaving this mark on the world, Puff. 96
Chynna Phillips - "I Live For You" (1996) Maybe I'm bias, but I can't understand HOW this wasn't a hit anywhere but here. Thankfully for me, it peaked at #9 here, so I got to hear it a fair bit on AusStereo back in the 90's. This song just grabbed me and held on. What a catchy song and a great voice. It didn't even occur to me that she was one of the Wilson Philips girls for ages
I used to also enjoy "Naked And Sacred" by this chick, but (like Puff Johnson) this is her lone entry into my countdown 95
Marlisa - "Stand By You" (2014)
This was just such a kick-ass song, and to be from the final eligible year of this countdown and make the top 100 is pretty impressive. Unfortunately it's only the real song I've heard from her since winning 'X Factor', so I do hope she makes more awesome stuff like this 94
3T - "I Need You" (1996)
I used to ADORE this track from 3T. I had no idea that Michael Jackson provided some of the backup vocals though, as I don't believe he was credited back when this came out, although it's pretty cool that he was these boys uncle. The video seems a little tacky watching this back 20 years later, but I'll never forget how much I used to love this one. It's 3T's lone entry! 93
Amber - "This Is Your Night" (1996)
I was definitely dancing around my room on the farm to this one! It spent ages at #1 on my chart, I do remember that one and I just couldn't get enough of this awesome 90's dance track. Dabadadada hiphopeyyay 92
Sheryl Lee Ralph - In The Evening ('97 remix) (1997)
Thank heavens this was re-released! I couldn't get enough of it. Brilliant and catchy stuff and I'm so glad it did well on the Aussie charts This is her lone entry! 91
White Town - "Your Woman" (1997)
It was definitely the beat of this track that snared me. Just a very catchy ear-worm, and the lone entry from White Town!
Coming up...
90 - An Aussie female country artist finally gives up on agreeing with someone in this 1999 single. 89 - The fourth single in 2000 from the second studio album by this Brisbane duo was really encouraging. 88 - The lead single from this Canadian diva's Greatest Hits album in 1999, period. 87 - A song about the power of disco music from this iconic Australian artist, taken from her 7th studio album in 2001. 86 - The only single from the second studio album by this American recording artist/actress in 2000, whom wants your company. 85 - The fortunate second single from the second studio album by this American recording artist in 2000. 84 - An encouraging and hopeful GRAMMY Award winning crossover pop-country song by this American country artist in 2000. 83 - An American alternative band's #1 first single from their debut album in 2000, which was written in 5-minutes. 82 - The lead single from the second English studio album by this Spanish artist in 2001. 81 - A Canadian singer-songwriter thought she was a flying animal in this first single from her first album in 2000.

90Felicity - "We'll Never Get Along" (1999)
Can you believe that I can't find a link to this song nowadays? I'm not sure if something happened or what with the track, or her life, but I used to absolutely LOVE this song by her. Nowadays, she sings as part of a trio, and apparently I can order her music video DVD from her website for $10 This is her highest charting entry for me. Her other was "Big Black Cloud".
89
Savage Garden - "Affirmation" (2000)
What a catchy track this was from the boys! This 5th entry and not out yet!
88
Celine Dion - "That's The Way It Is" (1999)
Oh that VOICE. Once again, just nailed it! Just to prove how much of an epic diva I've always thought Celine is, this is still only her 7th entry, and we're in the final stretch! What and where will her highest song be?
87
Kylie Minogue - "Your Disco Needs You" (2001)
I don't think you can get any more 70's than this in the Noughties Just loved this from the impossible princess This is Kylie's 19TH entry! And she ain't out yet!
86
Mandy Moore - "I Wanna Be With You" (2000)
I honestly don't know where I'd be in life if it wasn't for Mandy's music. She was my absolute stan growing up and I loved her WAY more than all the other USA pop girl's trying to make a name for themselves. And she did it all without having to take any of her clothes off! This song was just beautiful stuff. This is her 6th entry, and she's now down to my favourite to come. Can my Stan fend off the competition with my favourite song?
85
Britney Spears - "Lucky" (2000)
There was something about this track from Britney that I just absolutely loved. Where does she sit on my countdown? Well, this is her 18TH entry, and she's down to my favourite to come! Will it be a top-of-the-charter?
84
Lee Ann Womack - "I Hope You Dance" (2000)
One of THE most encouraging songs I have ever heard in my life is in the form of this woman's signature song. I actually consider it one of my 'life-changer' songs, it's that beautiful. Whenever I'm feeling shit or having a crap day, this is the song to hit the 'play button' to. This is her lone, and epic, entry Thank-you for this, Lee Ann.
83
Lifehouse - "Hanging By A Moment" (2000)
Yep, apparently this was written in 5 minutes! So they claim. Man, some people have all the talent! A decent run for Lifehouse, with this being my favourite song by them, so here's where I say goodbye to them. Their other charting entries were "Halfway Gone" (#480), "All In" (#298) and "You And Me" (#145).
82
Enrique Iglesias - "Hero" (2001)
Now, how beautiful was this track? And Jennifer Love Hewitt's in the music video! To think the September 11 attacks happened 8 months after this was released, and it became a bit of a tribute song. I just thought this was a stunningly beautiful track with the piano and the violins and his voice all working so well. Unfortunately that's IT for Enrique, with this being my favourite song of his He had quite the run! He had 12 other charting tracks - "Beautiful", "Not In Love" (#1400), "Could I Have This Kiss Forever" (#1167), "I Like How It Feels" (#1080), "Tonight (I'm f*cking You)" (#1011), "I Like It" (#938), "Finally Found You" (#604), "Escape" (#565) "Rhythm Devine" (#519), "Maybe" (#501), "Don't Turn Off The Lights" (#434), and "Heartbeat" (#306).
81
Nelly Furtado - "I'm Like A Bird" (2000)
The chorus is what grabbed me with this song. It was kind of a strange song but I loved it This is also my favourite Nelly Furtado track. Her others were "Say It Right" (#882), "Powerless (Say What You Want)" (#398) and "Maneater" (#366).
Coming up...
80 - This Australian singer-songwriter's 2001 single was quite incredible. 79 - The third single from the debut album by this Swedish artist and the winning song of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. 78 - This debut single from an American pop artist in 2002 is about travelling a really long distance by foot. 77 - The third single from an American singer/actor's debut album in 2005 was about someone else's life. 76 - An English singer covered a 1978 Leo Sayer track via his 2002 version from his 7th studio album. 75 - This second single about precipitation was released by an Australian Idol Runner-Up from his debut album in 2005. 74 - An Australian Idol contestant covered this 1989 The Jeff Healey Band track via her 2004 version, which went to #1 on the Aussie charts. 73 - This high-octave American diva's 2005 comeback single. 72 - This Australian singer needs your guidance via the second single from her first album in 2003. 71 - An American pop/gospel recording artist's second single from her second studio album in 2003 really makes you ponder the universe.

80Alex Lloyd - "Amazing" (2001)
This song's title is exactly what it is! I couldn't get enough of this track in '01 and pretty much jumped whenever I heard it on the radio. I can still sing along to it as passionately these days as I could 15 years ago This is Alex's lone entry!
79
Loreen - "Euphoria" (2012)
Boy was I excited when this won the Eurovision Song Contest four years ago! AND I got to see her perform this live at Mardi Gras. It's simply become one of the most iconic songs for me This is Loreen's lone entry!
78
Vanessa Carlton - "A Thousand Miles" (2002)
The piano, her voice, the violins, the beat - just everything about this was EPICNESS. And she's playing a piano travelling along the highway! This is Vanessa's lone entry
77
Jesse McCartney - "Because You Live" (2005)
I didn't even realize this was a Disney song I just remember coming across it and falling in love with it! This is my favourite song by Jesse, and it's his 6th and final entry into my countdown He had 5 other entries - "Right Where You Want Me" (#1041), "Beautiful Soul" (#393), "Back Together" (#379), "How Do You Sleep" w/ Ludacris (#325) and "Leavin'" (#220).
76
Phil Collins - "Can't Stop Loving You" (2002)
It's a cover, and it's Phil, again! I didn't know it was a cover however, and I just fell in love with this crooning, touching track. This is my favourite track from Phil. He had one other - "You'll Be In My Heart" (#124)
75
Anthony Callea - "Rain" (2005)
Back in '05, he wasn't out, so the song has the opposite gender lyrics, which was frustrating because my gaydar was going haywire Either way, I was pretty damn obsessed with this track. I wish it was just a normal single and not a double a-side though, although I guess his cover was pretty popular on his season of Australian Idol. Just stick with 'Rain' Anth. You had a hell of a track here. I've seen him live twice (once supporting Tina Cousins and the other supporting Celine Dion). This is his lone entry!
74
Paulini - "Angel Eyes" (2004)
This cover track went all the way to the top of the ARIA charts! Which was great for me, because I was adoring it This is Paulini's lone solo entry, although she did also appear as part of Young Divas.
73
Mariah Carey - "We Belong Together" (2005)
Just when people were starting to question where she'd gone, she comes out with this EPIC SMASH HIT. Ho-ly this was good. I still can't believe I got to see her perform live here, and she closed her concert with this, naturally This is her 12TH entry so far!
72
Delta Goodrem - "Lost Without You" (2003)
Another gorgeous track from the Aussie diva of the Noughties. This is her 16TH entry, and she's finally down to my absolute favourite to come. Where will it appear?
71
Stacie Orrico - "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life" (2003)
Oooo I love this track! Just such cool lyrics and sound and it just totally grabbed me. I'm still not forgiving you for getting my car towed though Stacie! So be thankful for this Top 100 position This is my favourite song by her! She had two others- "I'm Not Missing You" (#1151) and "Stuck" (#505)
Coming up...

70Christina Aguilera - "The Voice Within" (2003)
This was actually the first Christina song that I adored from the first listen, and therefore the one that made me take notice for the first time since "Beautiful". I wasn't that keen on the 'sluttier' songs like 'Genie In A Bottle" and "Dirrrty" but the ones where she toned it down but still belted out the vocals really grabbed me. I was just loving this one! As is evident by this being her 15th, and my favourite entry from her! Her other entries were... "I Turn To You" (#1168) "Car Wash" w/ Missy Elliott (#1066) "Ain't No Other Man" (#977) "Candyman" (#935) "Your Body" (#891) "What A Girl Wants" (#875) "Dirrty" w/ Redman (#611) "Not Myself Tonight" "Come On Over Baby" (#431) "Nobody Wants To Be Lonely" w/ Ricky Martin (#429) "Fighter" (#404) "Hurt" (#367) "Beautiful" (#221) and "Genie In A Bottle"
69
Kelly Clarkson - "Since U Been Gone" (2004)
The powerhouse vocals from Kelly shined in this 2004 track Just awesome stuff. I couldn't get enough of playing this in the car on long drives out to the countryside This is Kelly's 14th entry, and also my favourite by her! Her other entries were... "Miss Independent" (#1375) "Never Again" (#921) "Already Gone" (#630) "Walk Away" "People Like Us" (#552) "Low" (#534) "Catch My Breath" (#471) "Breakaway" (#395) "Behind These Hazel Eyes" (#375) "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" (#292) "Dark Side" (#277) "Because Of You" (#180) and "My Life Would Suck Without You" (#155)
68
Nerina Pallot - "Everybody's Gone To War" (2005)
I'm not sure what it was about this song that I just really loved, but I remember certainly doing so. I would play this over and over all the time! This is Nerina's lone entry
67
MGMT - "Time To Pretend" (2008)
They were the breakthrough band from '08 with that unique sound so many people loved. I was definitely one of them and this quickly rocketed to the top of my charts back in '08, before I joined here at M4B in late 2010. This is my favourite song by the guys. They had two others... "Electric Feel" and "Kids" (#330)
66
Lady Gaga - "The Edge Of Glory" (2011)
This song was something epic from Gaga! Awesome lyrics and tune coupled with an insane music video, it had all the right ingredients for a hit song for me! I can always play this one. This is also my favourite song by Lady Gaga! She had seven other entries... "Do What You Want" w/ R. Kelly (#1367) "Telephone" w/ Beyonce (#1312) "You & I" (#1082) "Dance In The Dark" "Poker Face" (#443) "Born This Way" (#386) and "Bad Romance" (#151)
65
Brooke White - "I Am, I Said" (2008)
I never knew the Neil Diamond original from the 70's, so when I heard this I was pretty blown away. It quickly hit the top of my chart and sat there for quite a few weeks, and it was all from some chick on American Idol that I couldn't even watch over here in Australia! This is her lone entry.
64
Sneaky Sound System - "Big" (2011)
The song that I have gone off to in many mosh-pits and nightclubs to this band playing it live, over the years. It just builds and is epicness Naturally, this is my favourite entry from the duo. They had four others... "Pictures" (#893) "16" (#475) "I Love It" (#359) and "We Love" (#296)
63
Ricki-Lee - "Raining Diamonds" (2011)
This chick has some real dedicated fans here in Oz. She didn't even win Australian Idol, and wasn't even in the top 5. That didn't stop her though. She released a lot of albums and had some epic singles, and this was one of them. She even took out my Year-End #1 one year recently. This song was just SO cool. It was just sitting on her Youtube page and fans were like, 'Ummm, why didn't you TELL us about this!?' and I guess she decided to release it. I was very thankful! This is also my favourite song of hers! She had 10 others... "Love Is All Around" (#1471) "Hell No!" (#1104) "Hear No, See No, Speak No" (#1094) "Burn It Down" (#1000) "Come And Get In Trouble With Me" (#956) "All We Need Is Love" (#946) "Can't Touch It" (#934) "Happy Ever After" (#589) "Do It Like That" (#576) and "Mirage" (#265) - (my year-end #1)

Brad Paisley - "He Didn't Have To Be" (1999)
This song's lost of lot of punch for me given my own circumstances with my own father, but back in '99 before all the shit went down, I was adoring this track! I used to always wait for it to be played on CMC and I would be glued to the TV. Just a beautiful track. This is Brad's lone entry, but good enough for a Top 100 finish.
