17 - Jess, that's too easy! Sarah McLachlan!
Awww, I didn't know about D'arcy, I always thought she was very cool! Have you heard the 5CD version of Mellon Collie? I got it and have yet to finish listening lol And Fiona jajajja, you didn't like her last album? why? Please elaborate <3 I find it a bit weird, considering your favorite Jewel album is Pieces Of You, I'd think you'd connect with Fiona's most acoustic driven last album.

I have not heard the 5CD version of Mellon Collie but it sounds interesting! Well I really like POY because it takes me back to the 90's, it just had that sound to it. The Idler Wheel or whatever it was called makes me think of today's indie crap.

Favorite song: Love Is A Killer (1991) Favorite album: Rev It Up (1991) THIS BAND IS SO UNDERRATED IT ISNT EVEN FUNNY. Eddie Trunk says of all the 80's bands, they were the poppiest and shouldn't be considered rock/metal. Gurl… Sit the f*ck down and go eat some White Castles while crying about how Ace Frehley and Peter Criss are no longer in Kiss. They are mostly well-known for their top 40 hits “Edge Of A Broken Heart” and “Cryin'”, both of which I love, but there's a lot of great tracks on their second album as well including my favorite, “Love Is A Killer”. Think Lita meets Heart meets a 10x better version of Poison.
Favorite song: Edge Of Seventeen (1982) Favorite album: Bella Donna (1981) It kills me that this woman wasn't at least top 15. I love her! Not only is she a great singer and a great frontwoman but also she seems so down to earth! I definitely think she's the type of woman that you could just talk music with, you could tell she's a legit fan, especially in that YouTube video I posted earlier in the Lighter Side with her talking about my Grace.
Favorite song: My Favorite Mistake (1998) Favorite album: Sheryl Crow (1997) I've been a big fan of hers ever since I was a kid. I remember the first time I saw the video for “My Favorite Mistake” on VH1 around the time it first came out and I absolutely loved it. To this day it is still my favorite song from her. I feel like a lot of her recent music has gotten a bit boring though, which sucks. Which she'd go back to songs like MFM!
Favorite song: Sweet Surrender (1997) Favorite album: Afterglow (2003) Another one I grew up with! “Adia” was the first cassette single I ever owned (I still have it too!). Such a beautiful voice, love her.
Favorite song: Play Dirty (1983) Favorite album: Play Dirty (1983) YEAHHH! Love these girls! I first discovered them in 2008 because the VH1 Classic videos show, Metal Mania, played the video for one of their poppier-sounding tracks, the 1985 single, “Running Wild”. I loved it and had to check out more. Their albums are incredibly rare but I still managed to get a copy of their 1982 album, Screaming Blue Murder, on Amazon for $20 so GO ME! ;D
COMING UP:
11. Germany's answer to Lita Ford! 12. A rock star turned pop star turned fashionista. 13. Even though I barely touched rock music back in 2003, the singer from this band managed to get three #1's on my chart back then, although one of them was a #1 before my chart went online but meh. 14. Another Lita bandmate, only way more famous. 15. She played on one of my all-time favorite albums… and she's a redhead. THINK CAREFULLY. It isn't who you think!

Some good choices there, especially the "S" ladies ;D
Hmm 11 must be Doro Pesch and 14 must be Joan Jett. 13 is Amy Lee?
I predict the top 10 has Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, Shirley Manson, Courtney Love, Ann Wilson, Nancy Wilson, Pat Benatar, Dolores O'Riordan, Grace Slick, and of course, Lita Ford (really, she has to be #1).

#11, #13, and #14 are all correct, but as for the top ten I counted Ann and Nancy as one

Oh Jess... do I have to beg you for the Naomi song??? lol Anyway, I'm glad Stevie is here and not in the top 10, I don't like ehr lol But amazing to see Sarah at 17. You mention having Adia on cassette, so I ask, what songs were on it? Only Adia? And 15 better not be Tori. I can only think of another redhead, Shirley, and I don't think she'd be this low... we'll see.

Don't worry I'll send "Fall Behind" to you. I believe the B-Side to "Adia" was "I Will Remember You" And #15 is NOT Tori or Shirley, but both are still to come.

By the way, I'm a bit slow keeping up with your list, I LOVE seeing Jewel in at #22. I'm sure you've seen this, but did you ever see this prank she did back in 2010? So cute!

LOL Matt that video was cute Favorite song: Celebrity Skin (1998) Favorite album: Celebrity Skin (1998) One of my favorite bass players ever! Love her, and Celebrity Skin is one of my all-time favorite albums. What's funny is, I love that album more than any of Tori and Shirley's albums. I really played you guys on that one.
Favorite song: Do You Wanna Touch (Oh Yeah) (1982) Favorite album: Bad Reputation (1981) First of all…
Second of all, “I Love Rock ‘N' Roll” was one of the first rock songs I ever loved! I always thought she looked so badass too. Definitely one of my favorites, love her!
Favorite song: Going Under (2003) / Bring Me To Life (2003) (keep switching between these two!!) Favorite album: Fallen (2003) Ten years ago, the JessieLou world of music was all about Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Beyonce', and Hilary Duff. One day I put on VH1 and they put on the music video for Evanescence – “Bring Me To Life” and my jaw dropped. I wouldn't touch rock music with a ten foot pole back then but I absolutely LOVED the song and her voice. I even remember one day my parents were going to Best Buy so I printed out the Fallen album cover to show my Dad what it looked like, and I gave him the money so he could get it for me. I was worried he'd find a way to screw up but he didn't. To this day she is one of my absolute favorite vocalists ever! I'd love it if they got a resurgence ala Maroon 5, just don't go pop on us please.
Also, check out this video of many artists, including one of my personal favorites, the late great Ronnie James Dio, praising Amy Lee and Evanescence. Don Dokken also said some stuff about her. I used to have a crush on him.
Favorite song: Just A Girl (1996) / Don't Speak (1996) Favorite album: Tragic Kingdom (1996) I'm honestly surprised nobody got this hint! I thought it was pretty obvious actually lol. The SECOND I first heard “Don't Speak” on the radio back in the day, I fell in love with this woman. I love everything about her. Her voice, her stage presence, HER STYLE!!!! One of my all-time favorites. Adore her!
Favorite song: Love Me In Black [Doro] (1999) Favorite album: Triumph & Agony [Warlock] (1987) In the 80's, the German metal queen was in a band called Warlock and went solo in 1989. I was first introduced to her in 2008 after watching the heavy metal documentary, Metal: A Headbanger's Journey. She was interviewed and came across as a total sweetheart and because she was yet another female rocker I had no idea about, I went on Limewire (geez! Remember those days? ) and went on a Doro/Warlock downloading spree. The first song I ever heard was the Warlock song, “Kiss Of Death” from 1987 and I LOVED it. However, my all-time favorite Doro song is actually one of her poppier tracks, the title track from her 1999 solo album, Love Me In Black. Such a beautiful and FLAWLESS song and one of my all-time favorites. In March 2009 I had the opportunity to speak to her on Eddie Trunk's radio show and my impression of her was right – she IS a sweetheart! Plus, she's just as good today as she was back in the 80's/90s – her 2009 album, Fear No Evil, actually has some of my favorite songs from her on it, particularly her duet with Tarja Turnen, whose named I probably just butchered – “Walking With The Angels”.

Favorite song: Torn (1998) Favorite album: Left Of The Middle (1998) Oh Natalie, one of my first loves! I used to be SO obsessed with her when I was a kid. The song “Torn” was MY LIFE! I remember when it went to #1 on VH1’s countdown and I was soooo happy!! I remember seeing her debut album, Left Of The Middle, at Borders and practically begging my Dad to buy it for me. It was the last copy left too! I listened to that album all the time and to this day every time I listen to it, I think of that era. Definitely one of my favorite albums ever. I loved her so much I even wrote a fan letter to her and she gave me an autographed picture! ;D I lost it in 2002 when we moved from New York to Florida though, as well as the autographed picture I got of Gloria Estefan. MEH.

YES!!! My (and your) Nat made the TOP 10! ;D ;D ;D Waaahhooooo!!! I love that you were so obsessed with her! And she's such a pop-chick too! I bet you were torn and shiver'ed about that big mistake of losing the picture. I'm wishing I was there to help smoke it out

I'm sure you didn't want to leave us with a wrong impression there Good to see Natalie Imbruglia top 10 ;D So many good songs throughout her career, though "Torn" is, was, and always will be, her classic tune.
