The record on my chart is Daft Punk, who first charted in 2001 with One More Time. They didn't chart again until Get Lucky in 2013. The time between their first week on my chart and their first week at #1 is 12 years, 2 months and 16 days.
Second place is Dave Matthews Band who had 10 years, 10 months and 7 days between their first charting single and when Funny The Way It Is hit #1 in 2009.
Sia took nearly 9 years from 2006 to her first #1 (California Dreamin') in 2015.
Comparatively, the artists with the most charting songs between their first hit and first #1 is a 3-way tie. Nicki Minaj, Sia and Carly Rae Jepsen all hit #1 for the first time on their 21st charting song. Carly's came just a few weeks ago with Cut To The Feeling.

Shaggy holds this record, with nearly 10 years since his first chart appearance ("Wild 2Nite", on September 10, 2005) and his first #1 ("I Need Your Love", on August 1, 2015).

My record has been shattered this week - 19 years and 3 months after my first chart which contained their hit "It's All Been Done", and two #2 hits later, the Barenaked Ladies have finally reached #1 on my chart with "Canada Dry".

This record has just been broken again by Fall Out Boy, whose first chart entry, "Sugar, We're Goin' Down", debuted on September 17, 2005, and subsequently reached #8. Fall Out Boy now has had its first #1 for me with "Hold Me Tight Or Don't", 12 years and 8 months later.

My current #1's artist holds this record now, Foo Fighters. First song charted in 1997; "Run" is their first #1, in 2017. Prior to that the longest was Daft Punk (1997 first charted; 2015 first #1), and Hanson (1997 first charted; 2011 first #1) prior to that. Foo Fighters still holds this record for me, but Pink is now second (2000 first charted; 2019 first #1)

The Cranberries and Elton John, both of whom charted in the first few months of my chart, hit #1 for the first time this year - 20 years later.
EDIT: In 2019-2020, so did BBMak (first charted in 2000), Whitney Houston (first charted in 1999) and Tina Turner (first charted in 1999), and Chris Cornell (first charted in 2003 - with Audioslave).

I think this is the record. "Learn To Fly" debuted on my chart on December 5, 1999, and on January 31, 2021 - just over 21 years later - the Foo Fighters finally have their first #1 on my chart with "No Son Of Mine".
LOL, some other members also had a long wait for the Foo Fighters before their first #1's!

Chris Cornell has the record on my chart, first debuting October 2015 with "Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart" and earning his first #1 four years and nine months later with "Patience" in August 2020.

Coldplay took 20 years and 3 months to reach #1 for the first time on my chart with "Higher Power".
"Yellow", their chart debut, entered my top 40 on April 8, 2001.

Bryan Adams broke the record on my chart this week.
He appeared on my first chart on January 10, 1999 with "When You're Gone" with Melanie C. This week, he gets his first #1 with "So Happy It Hurts". That's almost 23 years!

Eddie Vedder has now claimed second place for longest wait for first #1 on my chart.
He first appeared with Pearl Jam in 1999 with "Last Kiss", and nearly 23 years later, he finally has his first #1 - teaming up with Elton John on "E-Ticket".
