Week 468 – February 15^th, 2020

Last week Alanis Morissette took over with her recent smash “Reasons I drink” (#2). This song only spent one week at the top before Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi took over with the heart breaking “Before you go” (#1). It took this song 11 weeks before reaching #1. Former long-time #1 “Blinding lights” (#3) by The Weeknd dropped one spot and is now rounding out this week’s Top 10. Swapping spots are the two versions of “Lose you to love me”. For the first time the cover (#4) by Kina Grannis is placed better than the original (#5) by Selena Gomez.

Up three spots and knocking the door to the Top 5 is once more Pink. This time she features country singer Chris Stapleton on their song “Love me anyway” (#6). Directly behind is Spanish singer María Parrado. Her song “Si me dejas” (#7, “If you leave me”) climbed up one spot while her other Top 10 hit “No creo en nada” (#8, “I don’t believe in anything”) climbed up two spots. María Parrado is followed by two new entries within the Top 10. The first one is by Taylor Swift. Her song “Cruel summer” (#9) climbed up five spots. Her new regular single “The man” should debut very soon too. The other one is once more a single by Pink. She and Khalid climbed up eight spots with their song “Hurts 2B human” (#10).

Last week’s highest debut “Physical” (#23) by Dua Lipa is this week’s greatest gainer of the week after climbing up 18 spots. So she left the 2nd best last week’s debut “Anyone” (#30) by Demi Lovato far behind. This brings me to the highest debut of this week’s edition. It is a song by German rapper Samra who recently got his chart debut on the track “110”. Now he returns with the track “Zu Ende” (#62, “Over”) which is a duet with German singer Elif. For Elif this debut is a big comeback. Back in the early 2010’s she had three chart hits. Her biggest hit had been “Unter meiner Haut” (“Under my skin”) which peaked at #12 back in 2013. Now six years after her last charting song left the chart she returns very strong with this collaboration. Unfortunately I didn’t like her other singles she released over the years, but with this single she could do as well as with “Unter meiner Haut” if not better and hopefully this single makes her a regular guest on my chart. Directly behind this German song another song in my mother tongue debuts. It is “Richtig falsch” (#63, “Right wrong”) by Tina Naderer. For her this is the third charting hit with the third single. I hope she is releasing an album anytime soon which is as good as her singles.

Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi defended the top spot with his hit single “Before you go” (#1). For the moment it seems that this could be a longer run at the top but who knows. Back at #2 is The Weeknd with “Blinding lights”. This song switched spots with former #1 “Reasons I drink” (#3) by Alanis Morissette. Holding its spot is the cover version of “Lose you to love me” (#4) by Kina Grannis. The original dropped one spot to #6. Caught between these two versions of the same song is “Love me anyway” (#5) by Pink feat. Chris Stapleton.

At #7 you can find the highest ranked song by Taylor Swift. Her song “Cruel summer” climbed up another two spots. Directly behind is the next song by Pink. On “Hurts 2B human” (#8) Khalid is featured. Dropping down two spots is Spanish singer María Parrado with both of her Top 10 hits. So “Si me dejas” (“If you leave me”) is at #9 and “No creo en nada” (“I don’t believe in anything”) is at #10.

Week 470 – February 29^th, 2020

For now three weeks Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi is topping the chart with his emotional song “Before you go” (#1). This song is followed by the 80’s inspired one “Blinding lights” (#2) by The Weekend. And still at #3 is the third song which topped my chart in a row. It is “Reasons I drink” by Alanis Morissette. She recently dropped her 2nd single “Smile” which should debut anytime soon and finally the video to “Reasons I drink”. Next in line is a song from Taylor Swift’s album “Lover”. “Cruel summer” (#4) climbed up three spots. Down one spot is “Lose you to love me” (#5) in the version by Kina Grannis. With this drop the #1 spot is definitely out of reach. Maybe I’ve listened too much to both versions so that Kina Grannis had no chance in reaching #1.

New in the Top 10 is Dua Lipa. “Physical” (#6) is her first Top 10 smash and with this fresh start within this part of the Top 10 she also has the chance to reach the Top 3. Down two spots is the leading “country” pop single “Love me anyway” (#7) by Pink feat. Chris Stapleton. Directly behind is another single by Pink. On “Hurts 2B human” (#8) Khalid is featured. Then there are two more new songs in the Top 10. Both songs are from Italian singer Annalisa. The higher ranked one is “Dov'è che si va” (#9, “Where is it going”). This one is followed by “Superare” (#10, “Overcome”).

German singer Philipp Dittberner can hardly be found on my chart, but last week he debuted with his latest single “Ich frag mich” (#72, “I ask myself”). With the help of German DJ Marv he climbed up 20 spots so that this song is this week’s greatest gainer of the week. So let’s talk about the debuts. This week sees 10 debuts and all of these debuts can only be found outside the Top 60. The highest one is by Swedish singer Isak Danielson who had a minor hit last year. Now he returns very strong with his single “I don’t need your love” (#64). I really expect much from this song and so you should watch out for a big climb by next week. Week 471 – March 7^th, 2020

I can’t believe that Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi is now scoring his 4th chart topping week with “Before you go” (#1). I’ve not seen this coming, but I really love this song and maybe next week this reign will end, because of Dua Lipa. Still the first in the hunt is long-time #1 “Blinding lights” (#2) by The Weeknd. And here she is. Dua Lipa climbed up three spots with her new single “Physical” (#3). Holding her spot is Taylor Swift with “Cruel summer” (#4). Unfortunately “Reasons I drink” (#5) by Alanis Morissette dropped two spots.

For the first time in weeks no version of “Lose you to love me” can be found within the Top 5. In this week’s edition the cover version (#6) by Kina Grannis dropped one spot to be placed just outside the Top 5. Up two spots are both songs by Italian singer Annalisa. So “Dov'è che si va” (“Where is it going”) is at #7 and “Superare” (“Overcome”) is at #8. Annalisa swapped spots with Pink whose songs dropped two spots so that “Love me anyway” now can be found at #9 and “Hurts 2B human” with Khaled at #10.

As predicted last week Swedish singer Isak Danielson is scoring the greatest gainer of the week with his single “I don’t need your love” (#35) which climbed up 29 spots. The highest out of 13 debuts is “I don’t wanna dance” (#51) by Shawn Hook. The last time he entered the chart had been with the duet “Reminding me” with Vanessa Hudgens. It is possible that this song will do as well as this duet. The 2nd best new entry is by unknown British singer James Smith. The 20-year-old singer is trying to conquer the music world with “Say you’ll stay” (#56). For me it definitely works and so I hope that I won’t be the only one who really likes this track.

Week 473 – March 21^st, 2020

As I’m still at home I’m still able to write a short review of this week’s chart. Last week British singer Dua Lipa took over with her latest single “Physical” (#1). This week she defended the title and so she can celebrate a 2nd week at the top. Swapping spots are two former #1’s. “Blinding lights” (#2) by The Weeknd climbed up one spot while “Before you go” (#3) by Lewis Capaldi dropped one spot. Holding its spot is “Cruel summer” (#4) by Taylor Swift. For her this week in March is a good week because she has now two songs in the Top 10. New in the Top 5 is Austrian singer Tina Naderer. Her song “Richtig falsch” (#5, “Right wrong” climbed up two spots.

Down one spot and now outside the Top 5 is former #1 “Reasons I drink” (#6) by Alanis Morissette but she can also celebrate because her new single is sprinting up the chart. Also down one spot is the Kina Grannis' cover of “Lose you to love me” (#7). Directly behind this song you can find “Rare” (#8) by Selena Gomez whose latest single is also climbing up the chart very fast. This week’s Top 10 is rounded out with two new songs in this section. First let’s welcome German star Mark Forster. His single “Liebe” (#10, “Love”) earns him his 2nd Top 10. The only time when he had been in the Top 10 had been back in 2014 with the track “Einer dieser Steine” (“One of these stones”) when he was featured on the Sido song. “Liebe” is his first solo appearance in the Top 10. Also new in the Top 10 is “The man” (#10) by Taylor Swift but for her this one is another Top 10 smash in a long list.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Smiling” (#23) by Alanis Morissette which climbed up 28 spots. This song reminds me on her older work and I absolutely appreciate this. For the highest debut you have to dig a little bit deeper although there are more than 15 debuts in this week’s edition. “Vas a quedarte” (#58, “You’re going to stay”) by Spanish singer Aitana is the highest debut of the week. As I really like her album which I bought last year this debut is definitely no surprise. She also debuts with another single from this album. “Me quedo” (#59, “I stay”) is debuting one spot behind. The next best debut is by US singer ZZ Ward. I’ve heard of her before but she hadn’t done well on this chart. This week she debuts with her latest single “Break her heart” (#65) which I think is absolutely enjoyable.

Week 474 – March 28^th, 2020

Before this week’s edition only five songs did what this song did this week. Do you remember Cover Drive feat. Dappy’s “Explode”? This song had been the first one which debuted at #1 back in 2012. One and half year later Anouk debuted at the top spot with “You & I”. By the way Anouk is also the only artist who debuted three times at the top. While “You & I” debuted at the top back in 2014 “Wanna little something” and “If I knew” did so back in 2016. Caught between these Anouk #1 debuts is the only one by Adele. Her song “Hello” got its #1 debut in October 2015, but since the end of September 2016 no other song debuted at the top until this week.

So this week got an entry in the history books. For the first time a song in German entered the chart directly at #1 and it is the first #1 for German punk rock band Die Ärzte too. They started their career in the early 1980’s and since that they had several hits including “Ein Schwein namens Männer” (“A pig called men”) which reached #1 in Austria and Germany in 1998, “Junge” (“Boy”) and “Lasse redn” (“Let them talk”). All these songs were released before I began re-charting. Since 2011 only one single by them reached my chart. It had been “M&F” which peaked at #9 back in August 2012 and left the chart in November 2012. Nearly seven and a half year later Die Ärzte did the unexpected. On Friday they released their new single “Ein Lied für jetzt” (“A song for now”). It is a very simple song with simple chords but this song is absolutely hitting the nail on the head in these times. They are singing about being in quarantine because the state is forcing social distancing. Several things about this situation are sticking around and so the opening line

„Ich sitze Zuhause und langweile mich
Klopapier und Nudeln sammle ich nicht“

„I’m sitting at home and bored
toilet paper and pasta I don’t collect”

really nails it when you’ve wondered why all the people are buying hundreds of toilet paper packages and shelves in the shops were empty. The video to this song was shot in their homes and it is absolutely worth seeing although it is also very simple too, but as always they give us something to discover.

So that’s enough about the new #1. Last week’s #1 “Physcial” (#2) by Dua Lipa dropped one spot as “Blinding lights” (#3) by The Weeknd. Up one spot is Austrian singer Tina Naderer with her song “Richtig falsch” (#4, “Right wrong”). “Before you go” (#5) by Lewis Capaldi dropped two spots.

Knocking at the door to the Top 5 is Mark Forster with his single “Liebe” (#6, “Love”). This is so far his biggest hit up-to-date and it should reach the Top 5 by next week. For Taylor Swift this week’s edition is an up and down. “Cruel summer” (#7) dropped three spots while “The man” (#9) climbed up one. Caught between is Alanis Morissette with “Reasons I drink” (#8). Down two spots is “Rare” (#10) by Selena Gomez.

Beside the #1 debut only three more songs got their debut. These are “Treppenhaus” (#83, “Stairwell”) by LEA, “Kamikaze” (#90) by Die Toten Hosen and “Gaslighter” (#94) by Dixie Chicks.

Week 475 – April4^th, 2020

For German band Die Ärzte this week is their 2nd at the top with “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#1, “A song for now”). Sure this song won’t be the biggest all-time hit, but on the other hand it is the song of the time and so “Ein Lied für jetzt” will stay at the top for some more weeks. Still in the hunt is the dethroned “Physical” (#2) by Dua Lipa. Also doing well is “Blinding lights” (#3) by The Weeknd in its 16th week. All these songs have in common that they didn’t move this week. The next non-moving song is in at #4 which is “Richtig falsch” (“Right wrong”) by Austrian Tina Naderer. New in the Top 5 is Mark Forster with his recent single “Liebe” (#5, “Love”) which hasn’t got much airplay, but I’m sure this will happen in the near future.

Up three spots and knocking at the door to the Top 5 is the latest Taylor Swift single “The man” (#6). Taylor Swift is followed by Swedish singer Isak Danielson. He can celebrate his first Top 10 smash with “I don’t need your love” (#7). I absolutely fell in love with this song and this one could be a surprise #1 as “Ein Lied für jetzt” is. Next in line is former #1 “Before you go” (#8) by Lewis Capaldi. This single is followed by two more new songs in the Top 10. Let’s welcome “Smiling” (#9) by Alanis Morissette. I’ve pointed it out before, but this song is such a reminiscence to her older work and I love it. This song and “I don’t need your love” will fight for #1 for several weeks in the future. The last but not least new song in the Top 10 is “All we need is love” (#10) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Me quedo” (#33, “I stay”) by Aitana & Lola Indigo. Both participated in the same season of “Operación Triunfo” and have now a decent career in Spain. This song climbed up 21 spots in this week’s edition and should reach the Top 20 within the next weeks. The highest debut can be found just outside the Top 40. It is the latest single by Selena Gomez. Her song “Dance again” (#42) is leading three new songs. “Dance again” is followed by “Break my heart” (#43) by Dua Lipa. This is definitely interesting because with “Break my heart” she has now another Top 50 hit in her portfolio while before “Physical” and this song she had only minor success on my chart. Next new song in line is “Break up song” (#44) by British girl band Little Mix. This is also surprising because although they had success in Great Britain I’m not really into their music, but this song has something that I couldn’t resist.

Other debuts are “Malade” (#57, “Sick”) and “De honte et de pardon” (#58, “Shame and forgiveness”) by Cœur de Pirate, “Scheiss Corona” (#60, “f*ck Corona”) by The Happy Disharmonists and last but not least “Neon” (#90) by Lykke Li.

Week 476 – April 11^th, 2020

Although there is big pressure on them Die Ärzte defended the throne with their song “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#1, “A song for now”). For now three weeks they are topping my chart. This week their runner-up is Isak Danielsson with his song “I don’t need your love” (#2) which climbed up five spots. Climbing up one spot is “Richtig falsch” (#3, “Right wrong”) by Austrian Tina Naderer. When I first listened to this song I didn’t expect “Richtig falsch” to end in the Top 3. Directly behind after also climbing up one spot is “Liebe” (#4, “Love”) by German star Mark Forster. Down three spots is former #1 “Physical” (#5) by Dua Lipa.

The only song holding its spot in the Top 10 is “The man” (#6) by Taylor Swift. She is followed by Canadian The Weeknd who dropped four spots with his #1 smash “Blinding lights” (#7). Up one spot are “Smiling” (#8) by Alanis Morissette and “All we need is love” (#9) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac. New in the Top 10 is “Feel me” (#10) by Selena Gomez. Although she has placed several songs from her actual album in the Top 10 I’m not sure about the album “Rare” itself. It is a rollercoaster with ups and downs and in my eyes it isn’t as good as “Revival” which also had some songs I don’t like very much. So I’m still undecided whether I should by it or not.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Treppenhaus” (#50, “Stairwell”) by LEA. This song climbed up 33 spots in its 3rd charting week. “Treppenhaus” is followed by the highest debut. It is the new single by my favourite singer Anouk. I just discovered it and so “I love you” (#51) only debuted low, but for next week I expect a very big climb. Other debuts are “Tarde” (#74, “Late”) and “Corazón inquieto” (#75, “Restless heart”) by María Parrado, “Best of you” (#83) by Andy Grammer feat. Week 477 – April 18^th, 2020

With 22 year old Swedish singer Isak Danielson a new face reached #1. His break-up hymn “I don’t need your love” (#1) reached #1 in its 8th week on chart. I’m not sure what the future brings for him, but I will definitely give his 2nd album “Remember to remember me” a shot. While Isak Danielson did the final step German band Die Ärzte had to leave the top spot after three weeks with “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#2, “A song for now”). New in the Top 3 is Mark Forster with his recent smash “Liebe” (#3, “Love”). Climbing up 4 spots is “Smiling” (#4) by Alanis Morissette. This is definitely a good start for her new album which now has two Top 5 singles. Also new in the Top 5 is “The man” (#5) by Taylor Swift.

Last week Austrian Tina Naderer finally reached #3 with “Richtig falsch” (#6). This week it dropped three spots which is sad but unfortunately a sign that this song will leave this part of the chart very soon. Next in line is “Physical” (#7) by Dua Lipa. “All we need is love” (#9) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac and “Feel me” (#10) by Selena Gomez climbed up one spots. This week’s Top 10 is rounded up with 6 times #1 “Blinding lights” (#10) by The Weeknd.

As predicted last week “I love you” (#25) by Anouk climbed up the chart very fast. This week “I love you” sprinted up the chart with a 26 spot climb. If Anouk is continuing this song will end in the Top 10 by next week, but for this week “I love you” is the greatest gainer of the week. The highest debut is another Covid-19 themed song. It is “Machen wir das Beste draus” (#67, “Let’s make the best of it”) by Silbermond. But there are more songs with quarantine theme which are debuting in this week’s edition. These are “Hoffnung” (#79, “Hope”) by Tocotronic, “Level of concern” (#88) by Twenty One Pilots and “I beg to differ (this will get better)” (#91) by Billy Talent.

Week 478 – April 25^th, 2020

Once more Isak Danielson is pining after that he doesn’t need the love and so “I don’t need your love” (#1) is still leading the chart. New in the runner-up position is Alanis Morissette. Her latest single “Smiling” (#2) climbed up two spots. Oh man I can’t wait for her new album, but for now “Smiling” is near #1 and her new single “Diagnosis” will soon debut. In its 5th week on chart Die Ärzte are dropping one spot with “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#3, “A song for now”). Also down one spot is Mark Forster with “Liebe” (#4, “Love”). The only non-moving song beside the #1 is “The man” (#5) by Taylor Swift.

Up two spots are “All we need is love” (#6) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac and “Feel me” (#7) by Selena Gomez. These songs swapped spots with Austrian singer Tina Naderer’s “Richtig falsch” (#8) and Dua Lipa’s “Physical” (#9). This week’s Top 10 is rounded out with the only new song in this part of the chart. For US singer Elley Duhé it is a premiere. Her single “Love me hard” did the final step with a one spot climb.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Freunde” (#38, “Friends”) by German singer Elif. As I pointed out in the last weeks she had some minor hits in the early 2010’s when she started her career. Now nearly ten years later she returns with a very different sound which is definitely near the German rap. Some of her new songs I like, but others aren’t really mine. On the other hand “Freunde” is one of her better work and now it climbed up 28 spots to land another Top 40 hit. The highest debut is the latest single by Italian singer Emma from her album “Fortuna”. Her single “Luci blu” (#58, “Blue lights”) starts its chart run just inside the Top 60, but as most of her others singles this one could end in the Top 20.

Other debuts are “Warrior” (#78), “Bigger wow” (#89) and “Love me insane” (#92) by Avril Lavigne, “Her” (#83) by Anne-Marie, “Bad habits” (#85) by Anna-Sophie, “Nichts tut mehr weh” (#90, “Nothing hurts anymore”) by Ella Endlich, “Tränen aus Kajal” (#91, “Kajal tears”) by CÉLINE, “Innocent and beautiful” (#98) by Tide Lines and “Victoria line” (#99) by Pegasus feat. Week 479 – May 2^nd, 2020

Up one spot and celebrating the 2nd #1 from her upcoming album is Alanis Morissette. Her single “Smiling” (#1) did the last step and is continuing her recent trend starting with “Reasons I drink” (#25) which spent only one week at the top. While Alanis Morissette is now celebrating Isak Danielson has to accept that “I don’t need your love” (#2) isn’t the Top song after two weeks at the top. Holding its spot is “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#3, “A song for now”) by Die Ärzte in their 6th week on chart. New in the Top 5 are the following two songs. Up three spots is “Feel me” (#4) by Selena Gomez. Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac climbed up one spot with their smash “All we need is love” (#5). For both this is their first Top 5 hit.

Falling out of the Top 5 are Mark Forster with “Liebe” (#6, “Love”) and “The man” (#7) by Taylor Swift. Next in line is last week’s Top 10 debut. Elley Duhé climbed up two spots with “Love me hard” (#8). Directly behind is this week’s only new song in this part of the chart. Spanish singer Aitana and Lola Indigo earn a Top 10 spot with their single “Me quedo” (#9, “I stay”). This week’s Top 10 is rounded out with two times #1 “Physical” (#10) by Dua Lipa.

German act Silbermond are also celebrating in this week’s edition. Their song about being quarantined “Machen wir das Beste draus” (#31, “Let’s make the best of it”) climbed up 17 spots and this song is this week’s greatest gainer. So let’s see how the debuts have done. None of these songs debuted within the Top 50, but it has been close. Some of my core artists just missed a Top 50 debut. The highest debut is “Diagnosis” (#51) by Alanis Morissette. As “Smiling” is topping the chart this low debut isn’t hurting as much as it could, but I’ve to point out that “Smiling” also debuted at #51 eight weeks ago. So maybe this song also has a good chance for reaching a top spot. Next debut is “I dare you” (#52) by Kelly Clarkson. I like this song and so this one should also do very well in the future.

Week 480 – May 9^th, 2020

Unfortunately I didn’t listen to music as much as in the week before. You can realize this fact when you look at the chart. There are less newcomers and less movement. Let’s have a closer look. Last week Alanis Morissette climbed up to #1 and this week “Smiling” (#1) defended the throne. “Smiling” is the first of five songs in a row holding their spots in this week’s edition. Alanis Morissette is followed by Isak Danielson with his wonderful song “I don’t need your love” (#2). Next in line is the highest placed COVID-19 song. “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#3) by Die Ärzte is now in its 7th week on chart. Then there is Selena Gomez. Her song “Feel me” (#4) is stable, but I think very soon her latest Top 10 hit will outperform this one. And last but not least “All we need is love” (#5) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac is holding its spot.

Up two spots is the first mover in this review. “Love me hard” (#6) by Elley Duhé is doing very well. In her tow are Aitana and Lola Indigo with their song “Me quedo” (#7, “I stay”). The next three songs are new within the Top 10. First let’s welcome Anouk back in this part of the chart. Her song “I love you” (#8) climbed up six spots. Also up six spots is “Dance again” (#9) by Selena Gomez. With this climb she has now two songs in the Top 10. For the first time in the Top 10 are British girl band Little Mix. Their song “Break up song” (#10) is now officially the song I like the most by them.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Midnight” (#64) by Alesso feat. Liam Payne. This is somehow surprising, but as I pointed out above in weeks when I’m not listening as much as before sometimes songs are shining brighter than expected. For the highest debut you have to dig very deep. “Solange du dich bewegst” (#82, “As long as you are moving”) by German Wilhelmine is a good song, but I’m not sure if this song will reach a spot within the Top 20 are better. Other debuts are “Wenn ich springe” (#83, “When I jump”) by Phil Praise, “C’est la vie” (#84, “It’s life”) by ROTE MÜTZE RAPHI, “Magnet” (#91) by Seafreat, “Your light” (#93) by The Big Moon, “Lonely in Tokyo” (#94) by Mirei, “Giving you up” (#98) by Kameron Marlowe and “The other team” (#100) by UPSAHL.

Week 481 – May 16^th, 2020

Welcome back chart followers! Another week has gone by an it’s time for a short chart review. Still smiling from the top is Alanis Morissette with her single “Smiling” (#1). It’s now her 3rd week at the top and is absolutely possible that she doing it for a couple more weeks. Former #1 “I don’t need your love” (#2) by Isak Danielson still can be found at the runner’s up spot. He is followed by Die Ärzte with their song “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#3). I really love this song, but I think this will be shortest chart run for a #1 song on my chart. Next in line is Anouk with her song “I love you” (#4). It had only been a matter of time and now with a Top 5 finish in the pocket a fight for #1 is the goal for the near future. Also new in the Top 5 is “Me quedo” (#5, “I stay”) by Spanish singer Aitana and her colleague Lola Indigo.

Directly behind the Top 5 you can find two songs by Selena Gomez. “Dance again” (#6) is followed by “Feel me” (#7). While “Fell me” dropped three spots “Love me hard” (#8) by Elley Duhé dropped two spots. Up one spot is “Break up song” (#9) by Little Mix. This week’s Top 10 is rounded out with last week’s #5 “All we need is love” (#10) by Stefanie Heinzmann feat. Jake Isaac.

The greatest gainer of the week is “Her” (#36) by Anne-Marie. This song is dedicated to her mom and I really like this song and its message. So this song absolutely deserves to be the greatest gainer. For the highest debut you once more have to dig deep. “Complicated” (#63) is a song by Swedish singer Miss Li. Back in the early 2010’s she had some minor chart hits, but with “Complicated” she could outperform every other song by her. Other debuts are “I found you” (#64) by Cash Cash feat. Week 482 – May 23^rd, 2020

Looking down the chart this week’s countdown is opened with critical song “Bikini” (#100) by Caroline Rose who criticizes the objectification of women in this song. Sure this song is a little bit older (from 2018) but I recently discovered this song when I watched the 2nd season of “The Good Fight”. This song shows the wide variety of songs I’m listening to, but I’m sure that the most of you’ve noticed this over the years. “Bikini” is this week’s song in the spotlight and maybe one or another gives this song a chance to became part of a personal playlist.

Still at the top is “Smiling” (#1) by Alanis Morissette. In its 11th charting week this song is now the 4th consecutive week at the top. “I love you” (#2) by Anouk is now leading the pack after a two spot climb. Now she is really fighting for the top spot and I’m sure that we will see a swap between Alanis Morissette and Anouk in the very near future. Dropping down one spot is former #1 “I don’t need your love” (#3) by Isak Danielson which is completing the podium. New in the Top 5 is “Dance again” (#4) by Selena Gomez after climbing up two spots. Down two spots is “Ein Lied für jetzt” (#5, “A song for now”) by Die Ärzte.

Last week “Me quedo” (#6, “I stay”) peaked at #5. This week the collaboration between Aitana and Lola Indigo dropped one spot. “Me quedo” is followed by “Break up song” (#7) by Little Mix. Next in line are three new songs in the Top 10. The highest ranked one is “Break my heart” (#8) by Dua Lipa who recently had a #1 with “Physical” (#21). Lately German singer Elif had a chart hit with Samra on his track “Zu Ende” (“Over”). Now she reached the Top 10 for the first time with “Freunde” (#9, “Friends”). That’s definitely good news for her, but she also debuts with another non-album single this week. And last but not least German singer LEA also gets a Top 10 hit with “Treppenhaus” (#10, “Stairwell”). For LEA this is her 2nd Top 10 hit following the “Immer wenn wir uns sehn” (Whenever we see each other”) which peaked at #7 back in 2019.

Another slow week goes by and so the greatest gainer of the week only climbed up 12 spot. This week the award goes to Avril Lavigne and her song “Warrior” (#30). Some weeks ago she released another version of this song, but I still go with the album version of this song. The highest debut is by Emma. She debuts two songs from her recent album “Fortuna” which are “Quando l'amore finisce” (#59, “When love ends”) and “Alibi” (#60).
