1495 - Jamiroquai - You Give Me Something (2001) - I was a big Jamiroquai fan back in 2001, having heard a few of their songs by this point, and I enjoyed this one. The lyrics are encouraging and sweet and it's just a catchy tune to me. Almost like a Daft Punk sound.
1494 - Josh Abrahams & Amiel Daemien - Addicted To Bass (1999) - Wah-ah-ah-oh! This song definitely had some bass to it, which was good because otherwise the song wouldn't make much sense. Josh Abrahams also goes by the name 'Puretone' and is now almost approaching 50 years of age, but I believe this was his only hit here in Australia. This was the first I'd heard of Amiel, whom I had the pleasure of seeing perform live once upon a time, and I still have a CD she autographed for me.
1493 - TLC - No Scrubs (1999) - Not gonna lie, I didn't like this song on debut. I really didn't. I thought it was bitchy and just downright selfish. How dare they label other citizens 'scrubs' and look down on them as though TLC were some hierarchy! (Which, I guess at the time, they may have been haha.) Then a few years on, I didn't take it so personally and thought, 'yeah I guess if they are talking about absolute worst of the worst trying to hit on them, then sure, they are entitled to their opinion.
- Wow does this take me back! 14 year old me absolutely loved this tune haha. The woman's voice is so unique. I still have no idea what a 'Coco Jamboo' actually is, but hey it doesn't matter. It was on a compilation CD I had, so it got played constantly when I wasn't watching it on the Rage countdown every weekend.
1491 - James Arthur - Impossible (2012) - A song I only got into because it went absolutely viral. It was a grower and not an immediate show'er for me The world certainly loved it. After a few more listens I caught on with the world and decided, 'You know what? This is awesome." And here it lands in my countdown.
Coming up...
1490 - Father and daughter team up in this fluttering track. 1489 - An Aussie impersonator/band parodying a high-profile controversial Australian political figure. 1488 - U.S bubblebum-pop duo's first single, which charted in Australia, New Zealand and the UK, but not their own country. 1487 - The second single from this (pre-Veronicas) Aussie sister duo, released in 2000. 1486 - A platinum-selling 2012 single from this Melbourne songstress, who once got really really drunk at the 2005 ARIA awards.

1490 - Billy Ray Cyrus & Miley Cyrus - Butterfly Fly Away (2009) - This was a lovely little tune, which I heard in the Hannah Montana movie.
1489 - Pauline Pantsdown - I Don't Like It (1998) - This song became somewhat iconic here because it was basically a drag queen(?) making fun of Australian One-Nation leader, Pauline Hansen. One of her catch-phrases was, "I Don't Like It", and next thing I knew, there was this 'impersonator' who had written this catchy, hilarious song. If you're from any country other than Australia, you'd probably be like 'Wtf is this?'.
1488 - Daphne & Celeste - Ooo Stick You (1999) - If this song came out any time other than when I was in school, I probably would've hated it. I'm laughing that this is in my list But I have to admit, this was catchy when I was 15 and even had one of those hand-slapping routines going throughout the school. I couldn't help but get caught up in the hype, and I secretly liked the song and the lyrics anyway.
1487 - S2S (Sister2Sister) - What's A Girl To Do (2000) - After their first single, this second single was released and it just had a lot more 'Oomph' to it, to me. I just really liked the sound.
1486 - Missy Higgins - Everyone's Waiting (2012) - The melody's in this were just awesome! A lovely, easy listening, yet soulful track.
Coming up...
1485 - Debut single from this Brisbane rock/classical band's 2001 album. 1484 - Second single from this Finnish electronic producer. 1483 - 2002 one-hit-wonder club-hit about dance-floor decor. 1482 - Second single from the second album from this American punk-pop band. 1481 - Debut single from this young Sydney electronic/instrumentalist/producer.

Well, it's shocking to see Aaron Carter 'charting' even outside the 1500 lol And so far, the only one I love in your list, is Brandon. Too sad he's at the very bottom Will we see Tori Amos later in the countdown?

Will we see Tori Amos later in the countdown? I won't string you along, so no, there's no Tori in my countdown. "Professional Widow" probably would have appeared in the Top 2000, if my list was that big There is however another artist you might recognize coming up shortly I was very much a 'Rage' ARIA countdown kid growing up, so a lot of songs here will reflect that.

1485 - George - Special Ones (2001) - A very different band I came across, and when I heard they were from Brisbane (before I moved here), I was naturally intrigued. I loved Katie Noonan's voice, and this was a gorgeous track.

1480 - Nathaniel - Live Louder (2014) - This song is goooooood. The vast amount of brass instruments and use of his vocals with the background vocals, ahh, everything just...works!
1479 - Matt Cardle - Anyone Else (2012) - This guys voice is just amazing! No wonder he got the votes mosts pretty much every week in his year of X-Factor. I love this bold sound!

1475 - Rixton - Me And My Broken Heart (2014)
- Not a bad debut single if I do say so myself!
1474 - Ciara feat. Nicki Minaj - I'm Out (2013) - Some of Nicki's rap lyrics in this are pretty hilarious, but I love Ciara's voice heaps!
1473 - Drake feat. Majid Jordan - Hold On We're Going Home (2013) - This was such an unexpected single release this was from Drake of all people. The music video is pretty full on as well. I liked the sound of this.
- This was one of those silly jammin' tracks that I could just go crazy to in my room at night. They actually won the Breakthrough Single ARIA Award for this.
- Before my obsession with Ricki-Lee really took off the past few years (she took out my Year-End chart last year), she had a few older hit-singles that had a really awesome sound and her lyrics are always spot on as much as they are today. A lovely track that I can always return to listen to.
Coming up...
1470 - One of the biggest female artists of the late 90's had this (pre-meltdown) track asking us why we don't do stuff in 2005. 1469 - A 2003 U.S Adult and AC #1 single from an American female singer/songwriter, originally first cut by Cat Stevens in 1967. 1468 - The second single from the fourth English album from this Aussie powerhouse, whom also dares to sing many songs in French. 1467 - When your spawn ask you why you don't gain employment. 1466 - Most popular single from this North Carolina alternative rock band, released in '98, comparing a woman to mortar?

Good to see Rixton and Drake there 1470... Britney Spears "Do Somethin'"? 1469... Sheryl Crow "The First Cut Is The Deepest"? 1468... Tina Arena? 1467... Offspring "Why Don't You Get A Job"? 1466... Ben Folds Five "Brick"?

1470 - Britney Spears - Do Somethin' (2005) - Consistent with her music throughout the years, "Do Somethin'" comes in as Britney's lowest-ranked favourite. It was a rockier Britney than I was used to and really packed a punch!
1469 - Sheryl Crow - The First Cut Is The Deepest (2003) - This song is one of my favourites from Sheryl, even being a cover. There have been many versions of this done over the years and I can't believe the original is so old now! Sheryl's voice suits this perfectly, and the lyrics hit home.

1465 - Brainbug - Nightmare (1996) - What a cool and scary sound! Not one lyric is uttered in this purely instrumental dance track, but it doesn't need lyrics. This song and video clip creeped me out as a 12 year old kid, yet it had a pretty snazzy sound!
1464 - Artful Dodger feat. Lifford - Please Don't Turn Me On (2000) - This song has a crooning voice, a beat, a synth and a violin and really caught my ears! I don't really understand why this guy doesn't want the girl in this song to turn him on, but hey, that's his problem. I didn't realize that there were two bands called 'Artful Dodger' until now, and how there isn' a lawsuit because of it, but hey, this is the UK song I know and like.
1463 - Shakira - Whenever, Wherever (2001) - This song was everywhere, wasn't it? A worldwide number 1 pretty much everywhere, I was surprised to learn Shakira has actually been around since the mid-90's, just not singing in English. This was her first English song and as per the music industry, her looks, talking about her breasts and a catchy tune made this an absolute hit. Initially I thought she'd just be another bimbo one-hit-wonder, but she proved herself with more than one-hit.
- So much Jamiroquai down the bottom of the chart so far! Another of my favs from them.
- Probably one of the coolest chorus sounds of the Naughties, I quite liked this track! Beyonce' 12 years ago had it goin' on!
Coming up...
1460 - This always-stoned rapper let his joint burn to close to his fingers. 1459 - This finger-slipping Naughties Brisbane hip-hop band tell you not to get dirty. 1458 - Swedish pop singer singing about how huge the world is in 1998. 1457 - Top 40 2008-hit from these murderers, about a species. 1456 - Just agree with the cold weather police.

1460 - Snoop Dogg feat. Pharrell - Drop It Like It's Hot (2004) - I couldn't help but get caught up in this song haha. I could click along to it, the lyrics didn't really make any sense, shizzle, fodizzle, drizzle... etc.
1459 - Butterfingers - Get Up Out Of The Dirt (2006) - A homegrown band! This Brisbane hip-hop group had a few catchy Triple-J hits, and this was one of my favourites by them. I'm not even that big of a hip-hop fan, but this was an exception!
- Anyone remember this chick? This is probably one of the most easy-listening tracks of all time (move over Enya!), but the lyrics are quite heartbreaking! I adored the sound of her voice with the instruments used. One of those songs I can always go back and listen to.
1457 - The Killers - Human (2008) - Brandon Flowers returns to my countdown in the form of the Killers in this humble track. The Killers have always been hit and miss for me, but this song was just an absolute standout. The sound, the beat, the lyrics. Ahhhh, I melt!
- These guys know how to make some good music. The musical instruments, the melodys and Gary Lightbody's voice combined...just work. Love it!
Coming up... 1455 - You may fall for this diva's breakthrough-debut 2011 single. 1454 - A 2000 U.S number 1 hit from the King Of Pop's sister, not that it matters. 1453 - A 2000 single from this very...friendly...Aussie DJ. 1452 - Gimme a 1996 single from this Danish woman, although she gave-me her biggest hit on a Saturday night a few years earlier. 1451 - This Aussie/French singer returns, contemplating her love for you.
