Now, I know I already posted my Top 100 of 2004, but after reviewing it many times, I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't reflect what I listened to in 2004 like it should. The reason for this is a weak period of my top 40 countdown during the spring and early summer. Those charts weren't put together very gracefully, and some of those songs didn't do as well as they should have. So I re-did my chart. Most of the songs in the top 40 are the same (like 30-35 of them), but have been reordered. I did not look at any top 40 data while compiling this chart, so this goes stritcly off of what I loved in 2004. Enjoy!
I'll posted the first 10 in a few minutes.

Your sins into me, oh, my beautiful one. Your sins into me. As a rapturous voice escapes I will tremble a prayer and I'll beg for forgiveness.#20. Afi "Silver and Cold"The first time I heard this song, I couldn't understand any of the lyrics, but I remember turning on the caption and and instantly fell in love with it afterwards. This was the song that dethroned Evanescence's "My Immortal" after 7 weeks at #1. It went on to spend 2 weeks at the top, thus making it #20 for 2004.

Clutching my cure I tightly lock the door I try to catch my breath again I hurt much more Than anytime before I had no options left again#19. Linkin Park "Breaking the Habit"Linkin Park had a bomb with this one. Blowing up into a mainstream hit, "Breaking the Habit" was one of the stand out songs when I seen them in concert last January. I immediately fell in love with this song, and couldn't have been happier when it became a single. Peaking at #1 for a week back in mid-July, "Breaking the Habit" is #19 on Gimpy's Top 40 of 2004.

If I want it, I'll get it Better give it up, cos you're never gonna stop me Having my way And I won't change no matter what you say#18. Angel "Just the Way I Am"I first heard of this song at the ATRL forums, and could've sworn I had heard it previously, and them I managed to get the mp3 and fell in love with this tune! The catchy pop beat and Angel's voice mix together perfectly and this was one of my favorite pop songs of the year. "Just the Way I Am" peaked at #5 back at the end of October, but later rebounded and hit #3 in mid-November.

What ever happened to the young man's heart Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart#17. Shinedown "45"Lead singer Brent Smith does a more then perfect job on this track, and I don't think anyone could've done better. This is one of those songs that touched me emotionally just by listening to the voice of Smith and what he was singing. "45" topped the chart on June 5th of 2004, and it is #17 of the year.

All I know is I'm lost without you I'm not gonna lie How am I going to be strong without you I need you by my side If we ever say we'll never be together and we ended with goodbye don't know what I'd do#16. Delta Goodrem "Lost Without You"I originally heard this song back in '03, but after my computer crashed, I lost the song and forgot the name of it. Rediscovering it finally back in July of '04, not knowing she had new material, I charted this song. It debuted on August 15th at #30, and was in the Top 5 by Ocotber. Spending a week at #2, and a total of 7 weeks in the Top 5, Delta Goodrem is #16 with "Lost Without You" <Tomorrow I will post #15-#8>
