6. Seether f/Amy Lee - Broken PEAK: #1 (1 week)I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open And I don’t feel like I am strong enough ‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome And I don’t feel light when you’re gone awayIf there was one surprise hit this year, this was it. This song was the South African band's mainstream breakthrough hit, a collaboration with Evanescence's Amy Lee. Taken from the soundtrack to the Punisher movie, this rock ballad spent a week at #1 back in July, and makes Amy Lee the only artist from 2003's top 10 to also appear in 2004's top 10 ("Bring Me To Life" was my #2 song last year). Billboard Hot 100: #20 R&R CHR/Pop: #10 Globalchart Top 50: #9 THO Top 100: #4 Not a suprise hit for me, but I was really suprised when it took off! Certainly the sleeper of 2004

5. Avril Lavigne - Don't Tell Me PEAK: #1 (4 weeks)Did you think that I was gonna give it up to you, this time? Did you think that I was somethin I was gonna do and cry? Don't try to tell me what to do, Don't try to tell me what to say, You're better off that wayOne of the most anticipated albums of 2004 was the second album from Avril Lavigne, "Under My Skin". This lead single rode off the anticipation and shot straight up to #1 in just 5 weeks in my top 100, the fastest climb all year, and spent 4 weeks on top in April, becoming the 5th biggest hit on my chart all year. UK Singles: #5 Billboard Hot 100: #22 R&R CHR/Pop: #11 Globalchart Top 50: #2 THO Top 100: #3

But that leaves Britney x2, Hooba, and M5! Ohh it's soo hard to predict.

Avril Lavigne at #5 ;D
I think Britney will be #4 with "Everytime", Maroon 5 #3, Hoobastank #2 and Britney at #1 with "Toxic".

It is so hard to tell, but I know it will be Hooba and Everytime #4 and #3 and then M5 and Toxic #2 and #1. Who gets which spot is another story.
I can almost put 95% certainty on that (unless Bry throws us yet another curveball!)

4. Britney Spears - Everytime PEAK: #1 (4 weeks)Everytime I try to fly I fall without my wings I feel so small I guess I need you baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, your haunting me I guess I need you babyBefore her "In The Zone" album even came out, this song was an immediate standout. Easily my favourite ballad from her, when she released it as a single in 2004, she managed to spend a record 19 weeks in the top 10, along with 4 non-consecutive weeks at #1 in May and June. However, despite all of this, she has one more song to come in the top 3... but did "Toxic" take the title of #1 song of 2004? UK Singles: #1 Billboard Hot 100: #15 R&R CHR/Pop: #4 Globalchart Top 50: #1 THO Top 100: #1

19 weeks in the top 10? That's impressive. Everytime was also #4 on my year-end Can't wait for the rest!
