It began. And what a beginning it was Very quickly the loose ends were tied up, except Kirsten's storyline, but the writing was brilliant last night. I can't wait for the rest of the season!

I didn't watch any of last season, but my sister was here last night and she loves that show, so we watched it together. It was pretty interesting, don't know if I'll watch next week, but I liked what I saw. They have some good storylines to build on, but it seemed the premiere was more focused on tied up loose ends, which isn't exactly a good way to impress new viewers.

I missed most of the last season - mostly because I thought the season was horrible and ended up just not watching anymore. But I've heard of things that happened and am mentally beating myself up for boycotting, lol. I really wanted to catch the season premiere, but I missed it.

So you missed both this and Reunion? What were you doing last night?? Last night's show was the first I've ever watched of this show. Not bad, but I'm not yet overly impressed.

I hope this season's better than last year's.
The first episode of the 3rd season showed a lot of promise. I hope it continues to do so.

2nd Episode
First of all, I just want to say how happy I am that the O.C. is off to such a sensational start. The script is as brilliant as ever. Clever one-liners, hillarious references to pop culture, and Summer and Seth are at their absolute prime this season thus far.
Also, look how much has developed already. Jimmy's got a new scandal already (which makes sense why he came back in the first place), the whole expulsion thing seems like it's been around forever but yet it only happened this episode, and not to mention Orange County finally has their own Bonny & Clyde in Ryan & Marissa.
So, about those one-liners: Julie - "you know my daughter marissa? tall, blonde, wears chanel? yea doesn't really say gangsta"
Seth - "my jewish stomach cannot handle this"
And all the tension between Summer-Taylor is HILLARIOUS. That is probably the best addition this season.
The only thing I'm not really feeling is the Charlotte plot. I mean, this chick is unbelievably creepy. Obviously the sob fest was a set up, but WTF FOR? I don't get what her purpose is. For a season that's started answering questions very quickly, I'm surprised Schwartz is holding out like this.
Oh and to finish this review, the show started by playing Death Cab's "Soul Meets Body". Huge plus. And then Franz's "Do You Want To?" during the carnival.
Looking forward to next week.

Just great...another show where an arrogant a**hole goes on a power trip. Fantastic. Still...public displays of oppressive power are a good way to destroy one's image in the minds of the student body. He'll get his eventually, and it looks like Taylor will go down with him. Speaking of her, she just completely pissed away her chance to stay social chair, hehe. But I am getting turned off to the whole "Us against the world" scenario that Ryan and Marissa are creating. All in all, things went from mixed (this show) and great (Reunion) to downright ugly on both counts (since the other was pre-empted). It's too bad, because they were off to a promising start with the "from bitter rivals to having to be all buddy-buddy" scenario.
