Biography of the 00s: Ciara (born Ciara Princess Harris) is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, record producer, and actress. Ciara made her debut in the summer of 2004 with the Billboard number-one single "Goodies". The album Goodies was released the fourth quarter of 2004 and first quarter of 2005. It produced three top two singles on the Billboard Hot 100, selling over 2.6 million in the U.S., and 5 million worldwide, and earned various awards and nominations.
Ciara's second album, Ciara: The Evolution, was released in December 2006.It has spawn the hit singles "Get Up", "Promise", and "Like a Boy". The album has sold nearly two million copies worldwide.
During her teens, Ciara and her family settled in Atlanta. Ciara said that watching Destiny's Child perform on a television program while staying home from school inspired her to pursue a career in music. Then, Ciara joined a girl group called Hearsay and worked on her songwriting. The group recorded demos, but began to have differences. Eventually, she left the group, got a publishing deal, and found a "musical soulmate" when she met producer Jazze Pha. Ciara graduated from Riverdale High School in Riverdale, Georgia in 2003 and was signed by LaFace Records executive L.A. Reid with the help of Jazze Pha. She began production on her debut album. Ciara co-wrote a demo with songwriter Sean Garrett, who was co-writer of Usher’s international hit “Yeah!”.
Goodies became a commercial success in the U.S., selling 2.63 million copies. The following year, Goodies received an international release, but success was limited, although the singles were worldwide hits. Ciara’s debut single, "Goodies" reached number one in United States and United Kingdom. The second and third single "1, 2 Step" featuring Missy Elliott and "Oh" featuring Ludacris were top five singles in both countries. "And I", the fourth single, did poorly compared to the first three releases. The song peaked at ninety-six on the Billboard Hot 100.
In the summer of 2005, Ciara released her DVD of music videos, documentaries, and commentaries entitled Goodies: The Videos & More and contributed to hip-hop artists' singles during Goodies success. She appeared on Missy Elliott's "Lose Control" from her album The Cookbook and Bow Wow’s "Like You" from his album Wanted, which both peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
In December 2005, Ciara went on tour with Gwen Stefani on her Harajuku Lovers Tour 2005 and other pop sensations Bow Wow and Chris Brown for the "Holladay Jam", which stopped at big cities such as New York, Washington D.C., and Atlanta. She also received Grammy nominations for "Best New Artist", "Best Rap/Sung Collaboration" for "1, 2 Step", "Best Rap Song" and "Best Short Form Music Video" for “Lose Control”.
Ciara slowly began production on her second album. Ciara started a new year by winning her first Grammy Award for Missy Elliott's "Lose Control". It won "Best Short Form Music Video", on February 8, 2006. In April 2006, Ciara was featured on Field Mob’s Billboard top ten single "So What". The following month, she made acting debut in the MTV Films production All You've Got, also starring Adrienne Bailon and Efren Ramirez. The summer of 2006, Ciara completed her second album, after the release of the Step Up soundtrack single "Get Up" featuring Chamillionaire. It became the second European single in the summer 2007, apart from the UK, where the song was released twice as a download-only single, once in 2006 and again in 2007.
Ciara's second studio album, Ciara: The Evolution was released on December 5, 2006. Production included hitmakers such as, Jazze Pha, Rodney Jerkins, Pharrell, Bryan Michael Cox, Will.i.am and many others. The album is about Ciara's personal growth after two years in the public eye. She co-wrote and co-produced most of the songs. The official first single "Promise", produced by Atlanta producer Polow Da Don, which reached eleven on the Billboard Hot 100. In October 2006, Ciara went on a seventeen city club tour until December, which she previewed new music from the album.
Ciara: The Evolution debuted at number one selling over 338,000 copies, which is 213,000 more than Ciara’s debut album Goodies. The album received generally positive reviews and was certified platinum by the RIAA. The second single from Ciara: The Evolution, the first single in Europe, "Like a Boy", was released on February 13, 2007 in the U.S. The single was the second to be released in the UK with an April 9, 2007 release date. The single was a moderate success peaking at nineteen on the Billboard Hot 100 and sixteen in the UK.

Don't usually like Ciara, but "1, 2 Step", "And I", "Promise" and "Like A Boy" are alright... but she's had nothing I've REALLY liked, just a few that were decent and others I didn't like. My favourite song from her isn't even her own song... it's "Lose Control" with Missy Elliott

I can't stand Ciara! She's gotta be one of the most bland random females in the rap video ever! She's more overrated than Rihanna!

#91. Fall Out Boy
Biggest Hit of the 00s: This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race
Biggest Album of the 00s: From Under The Cork Tree
Other Singles from the 00s: Dead On Arrival, Where Is Your Boy, Saturday, Sugar We're Goin Down, Dance Dance, A Little Less Sixteen Candles A Little More Touch Me, The Carpal Tunnel Of Love, Thnks Fr Th Mmrs, The Take Over The Break Over.
Biography of the 00s: Fall Out Boy (commonly abbreviated as FOB) is an American band from Wilmette, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago) that formed in 2001. The band consists of Patrick Stump (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, and primary composer), Pete Wentz (bass guitar, backup vocals, and primary lyricist), Joe Trohman (lead guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums).
Fall Out Boy has won several awards for its major label debut album From Under the Cork Tree. Released in 2005, the album has achieved double platinum status after selling more than 2.5 million albums in the United States alone. In support of the album, Fall Out Boy headlined tours in 2005 and 2006 playing in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Europe.
In February 2007, the band released Infinity on High to major chart success, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 and selling 260,000 copies its first week. The lead single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race", reached #1 on the Pop 100 and #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. To promote the album, the band performed at the Live Earth concerts July 7, 2007, and headlined the Honda Civic Tour through mid 2007.
The band was nameless for their first two shows. At the end of their second show, they asked the audience to yell out their ideas for a name. One audience member suggested "Fallout Boy", a reference to the sidekick of the Simpsons cartoon character Radioactive Man.
Fall Out Boy was formed in early 2001 by friends Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz. The two had played in various hardcore punk bands in the Chicago area. They decided they wanted to start a band that was more similar to bands they listened to growing up such as Green Day and Descendants. Trohman met high schooler Patrick Stump in a Borders Bookstore. Trohman introduced himself to Stump when he overheard him talking about the band Neurosis, in which they shared a mutual interest. Stump auditioned as a drummer, but soon became the lead singer. Two other Chicago musicians were recruited to play drums and guitar. The following year, the band debuted with a self-released demo and followed it up with the May 28, 2002 release of Split EP, which featured Project Rocket, on Uprising Records. The group released a mini-LP, Fall Out Boy's Evening Out with Your Girlfriend, also on Uprising Records, in 2003.
After the release of their mini-album, Andy Hurley, formerly of Racetraitor, joined the band and Stump picked up guitar, while the other two Chicago musicians left. During this time, they played many local shows at the The Knights of Columbus Hall in Arlington Heights, Illinois, also the site of their first video: "Dead on Arrival". The same year, after signing to Fueled by Ramen, they released their first full-length album, Take This to Your Grave, on May 6, 2003. The band received an advance from Island Records to record their proper debut, but the advance came with a right of first refusal for Island on Fall Out Boy's next album. With major financing in place, the recording of Take This to Your Grave took place at the Butch Vig owned Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, with Sean O'Keefe producing.
With singles "Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy" and "Saturday" receiving video airplay on FUSE and mtvU and radio airplay on alternative stations across the country, the band soon gained a cult following. With positive reviews at the South by Southwest Music Festival and an extensive tour schedule, Fall Out Boy's popularity continued to grow. The album sold very well and eventually achieved Gold status, but only after the success of their next album, From Under the Cork Tree.
In mid-2003, the band signed with Island Records which is apart of the super label The Island Def Jam Music Group, along with Def Jam Records. This was after they picked up the option for their next album. In the meantime of recording their mainstream debut, they released the acoustic EP My Heart Will Always Be the B-Side to My Tongue on Fueled by Ramen, May 18, 2004. It debuted at #153 on the Billboard Top 200, their first such entry on the chart. The two-disc set included a DVD with videos, more acoustic performances and a fan photo gallery.
On May 3, 2005, Fall Out Boy released their major label debut, From Under the Cork Tree, which debuted on the Billboard 200 at #9, selling over 68,000 copies in its first week. The album achieved double platinum status and has sold over 2.5 million albums in the US alone. Earlier that year, the band's stability was threatened when Wentz overdosed on the sedative Ativan in a failed suicide attempt. The track "7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen)" from their album From Under the Cork Tree is based upon Wentz's attempted suicide.
Their first single, "Sugar We're Goin' Down", peaked at #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, #6 on the Pop 100 and #3 on the Modern Rock Charts. The video reached #1 on MTV's TRL, where it was retired on August 26, 2005. The video also won the MTV2 Award at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards, prompting a huge new interest and surge in sales. The band was also nominated for "Best New Artist" at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
The second single off the album, "Dance, Dance", became their second Top 10 Single when it peaked at #9 on the Hot 100. It also reached #6 on the Pop 100 and became the bands top charted hit when it reached #2 on the Modern Rock Charts. The video for the song premiered on TRL on October 11, 2005; it soon reached #1 and was later retired on January 17, 2006. The third single off the album, "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More 'Touch Me'", was much less popular than both prior singles but still managed to peak at #65 on the Hot 100 and hit #1 twice on TRL, retiring on June 6, 2006.
The band headlined the Nintendo Fusion Tour in the fall of 2005, joining The Starting Line, Motion City Soundtrack, Boys Night Out, and Panic! At the Disco on a 31 city tour. Due to their increased success from their MTV Video Music Award, they headlined the Black Clouds and Underdogs Tour--an pop/punk event that featured All-American Rejects, Hawthorne Heights, From First to Last. The tour also featured The Hush Sound for half of the tour and October Fall for half. They played to 53 dates in the US, Canada, and the UK.
Fall Out Boy's latest album is titled Infinity on High and was released on February 6, 2007. The lead single, "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race", debuted at the 2006 American Music Awards. The video debuted on MTV on Tuesday, December 19, 2006. In the album's opening week, Infinity on High reached #1 on the Billboard 200, selling 260,000 copies.
"This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race" peaked at #2 on the UK Singles Chart on February 4, 2007, making it their most successful song in the UK to date. The single also peaked on the U.S. Hot 100 at #2 and the U.S. Pop 100 at #1. "The Carpal Tunnel of Love" (the second single released from the album) reached #81 on the U.S. Hot 100 by way of digital sales alone. "Thnks fr th Mmrs" was released on April 9, 2007 and is currently at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at #12 on the UK Singles chart.
Fall Out Boy was the headlining act of the Honda Civic Tour. The U.S. portion of the tour was originally scheduled to start April 18 and end on June 11. However, due to personal issues, it was postponed until May 11 and ended July 2 in Anaheim, California. The tour is now continuing in the United Kingdom and is scheduled to end in Africa to support Invisible Children Inc. They are working with Reverb, a non-profit environmental organization, for the tour.
Showing their versatility, Fall Out Boy has collaborated with rappers Kanye West and Timbaland and are currently touring with Paul Wall. West produced and is featured on the remix of "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race". They also worked with Timbaland on his new album Timbaland Presents Shock Value, where they are featured on the track "One & Only", for which Stump and Wentz both contributed in writing. Stump was also featured on two songs with Gym Class Heroes (also signed with Fueled by Ramen), including their hit single "Cupid's Chokehold". He also was a guest vocalist on Motion City Soundtrack's single, "Everything is Alright".

#90. Chingy
Biggest Hit of the 00s: One Call Away
Biggest Album of the 00s: Jackpot
Other Singles from the 00s: Right Thurr, Shorty (with Busta Rhymes & Fat Joe), Holidae In (with Ludacris & Snoop Dogg), Bella Baby, Don't Worry (featuring Janet Jackson), I Like That (with Houston & Nate Dogg), Fighting In The Club (with I-20),Dem Jeans & Pullin' Me Back (featuring Tyrese).
Biography of the 00s: Chingy is an African-American hip-hop music artist.
Chingy is known for heightening his voice in all of his songs, however, in interviews and appearances, he uses a regular unstressed voice. His hits date back to 2003 and include: "Right Thurr," "Holidae In," "One Call Away" featuring J-Weav, "Balla Baby" and more recently, "Pullin' Me Back" featuring Tyrese, and "Dem Jeans" featuring Jermaine Dupri." He has also taken part in the "Get Low (Remix)" music video. Chingy goes by the logo "G.I.B.", which stands for Get it Boyz. He was on the road from August 06-January 07 and is now in his hometown St. Louis helping his younger cousin Young Spiffy create his debut album, Troublemaka. Spiffy will be the first off his label Slot-A-Lot.
Chingy has recently ceased his dispute with Disturbing tha Peace and has officially signed back to them.
St. Louis based Fo-Reel Entertainment home of artists such as Nelly claim to have discovered the talented Chingy, and he was often seen during his early days with their entourage. However as time passed Chingy began to distance himself, during which time a feud emerged between Nelly and Chingy. Shortly after, he emerged once again as a member of Ludacris' southern hip hop record label DTP. His relationship with DTP was hugely successful and lead to a successful debut consisting of the lead single "Right Thurr", "Holidae In", and "One Call Away". But later in 2005, Chingy had a monetary dispute with DTP, causing him to leave the label. He released Powerballin' the same year, yielding the singles "Balla Baby" and "Don't Worry". His debut single only made success into the Billboard top 20. In 2006, he squashed his beef with Nelly and appeared in Ali & Gipp's new video "Go Head". He stated in Rap City that he has no beef with Ludacris. He released his third album Hoodstar, releasing "Pullin' Me Back", "Dem Jeans", and "Nike Aurr's and Crispy Tee's". Around March 2007, Chingy started appearing in advertisements for Party with a Star.com, with whom he has signed a contract to have a one hour meet and greet with the contest winner, along with other former celebrities and reality stars Ant (comedian), Cindy Margolis, Traci Bingham, Steve-O, and Vanilla Ice.
