Hello again everybody, lets take a look at what’s goin on this week on the pop chart. This week it’s CHART ACTION, as we have a new #1 song in the USA this week. It’s a song that ties for two chart records this week. This song first ties for the fasting climb #1 in 2006.
There have been many fast risers in 2006 but a couple stand out. One is Fort Minor’s Where’d You Go” which reached #1 in only six weeks. This week we have another song to reach #1 in six weeks, a song that quickly rose to the top of the chart. That means “Promiscuous” now ties as the fastest climbing hit to reach the top in 2006. It gets there in only six weeks. By the way we mentioned Nelly Furtado has two chart records this week. She has the privilege to tie for our biggest mover as well. Check it out, she climbs from #9 all the way to the top an 8 notch jump. WAY TO GO NELLY. ;DThe other song to also make an 8 notch jump is “Stars Are Blind” by, Parris Hilton. It’s at #22.
Looking at some of the other hits, it looks like Anna could score a top five hit. ‘Breathe” is up a spot this week. Last October, this song peaked at #6 for four weeks. Earlier this year it became popular again. Now it’s funny this summer its back at #6. It will be interesting to see how far Anna takes this song this time. ANNA CAN DO NO WRONG!
It looks like Christina will be the next artist to score a top ten hit. She rises three spots to #11 this week.
Taking a look at the rest of the chart, we had four debuts. The highest was by, pink called “Who Knew.” This is the follow up hit to “Stupid Girls.” It debuts at #36 this week. But even though it’s at #36, look for this to be a fast mover, and quickly climb the chart. ;D
Now it’s time to look to the future and see who might have new music on the chart. It’s our PT40 Hot Pick. Wow there is lots of good stuff out this week. This week were picking a song that is sure to quickly move up the chart. Look for Ne-Yo’s new hit “Sexy Love’ to enter soon. Also look for this new artist named Cheyenne Kimball to have this song called “Hanging On” and Kelis is back after a three year absence. You may remember the #1 hit “Milkshake?” Kelis is back with ‘Bossy” a hit that features Too Short.
Also check out our site we added some more cool things. You can check out some of our polls and our new chat room. Check out lots more too. Keep it here as we countdown the 40 biggest hits in the land. Till next time have a good week.
