Yup, the title says it all, a number of songs celebrate big leaps this week, and also, some songs (namely two of them) - suffer great falls. Those with big jumps include Fort Minor, Coldplay and Hard-Fi, all of them going up 5 spots from last week. 10 Years is up 4. Finally, All American Rejects, and We Are Scientists move up 3 apiece pretty high up in the chart.
Who do YOU think fell far? Look below if you want to know. (hey, that rhymes!)
Metric stays at #1 again this week, surprisingly, with a still very hot Pilate track hot on their heels - so I doubt they can stay on top for a third week.
The three debuts this week are:
"The Adventure" by Angels & Airwaves - Tom Delonge has yet another band, but this one's different, I absolutely love this song, it took me a few listens to get beyond Tom's somewhat annoying vocals, but man... the emphatic epic/space-like guitar riffs and lyrics alone are worth giving this a listen. You'll love those alone. I know I do.
"4ever" by The Veronicas - Female rockers are hard to come by, these gals come complete with an edgy, fun tune.
"When I Think of You" by Prozzak - Well, this may be somewhat belated in terms of debuting - but it's still fresh in my mind. This is pretty serious in comparison to their earlier stuff, the video is Gorrilaz-esque, dark, brooding - and cartoony.
This comes at the expense of Morningwood (does anyone really know what that name means ), Pink (she had the best of the drop-outers' runs), and Arcade Fire (OMGZ0RZ, my favourite band had a run like that?! What was I thinking?)
Meep.
