Pearl Jam #1 For Third Week
Pearl Jam continues to dominate Jessica's Top 40 with "World Wide Suicide" holding #1 for a third straight week, now tying the Sugababes' "Ugly" for the longest-running #1 of 2006. While "Suicide" maintains the top spot, the band debuts with another track, "Unemployable", the week's highest debut at #31.
Elsewhere, Sheryl Crow and Sting's "Always On Your Side" moves 4-2 to become Sheryl's highest-peaking song since "The First Cut Is The Deepest" reached that same position in January 2004. The Arctic Monkeys move 7-3 with "I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor", the British band's first top 3 hit.
The pick of the week is Jewel's "Again and Again" up 8-7. The song is three spots away from surpassing Jewel's highest peak position of #5, which she reached with "Intuition" back in June 2003.
DMC's "Just Like Me" featuring Sarah McLachlan moves 14-9 to become Sarah McLachlan's tenth top 10 hit and the third top 10 rap song since the chart went online, after Fabolous and Tamia's "Into You" and Will Smith's "Switch".
The week's greatest gainer is Death Cab For Cutie's "Crooked Teeth" which moves up seven from #22 to #15. Other big gainers this week include Natasha Bedingfield's "Single" (26-21), Bon Jovi's "Who Says You Can't Go Home" (31-25), James Blunt's "Wisemen" (35-29) and Coldplay's "Talk" (37-30).
Other debuts this week come from Aly and AJ's "Rush" (#37), Fefe Dobson's "This Is My Life" (#39) and Tyler Hilton's cover of John Waite's "Missing You" (#40).
Have a great weekend, everyone!
