FLAWED MANGOES EARNS 2025'S BIGGEST #1 RUN; WISP, DEFTONES COMPETE FOR NEXT CHART TOPPER
Flawed Mangoes maintains his lead on the Burner 50 for a sixth week with “Surreal”, besting Scowl's “Tonight (I'm Afraid)” and Sam Fender's “Tyrants” as the longest reigning #1 of 2025 so far. As the song from the Boston musician continues to have a wide play gap between it and its competition, the run for “Surreal” is the longest time atop the chart since Jerry Cantrell's 10-week stay last year with “Afterglow”.
Meanwhile, nu-gaze darling Wisp hits a new high with “Save Me Now” up to #2, challenging to become her first #1 and just the third sung by a singer born in the 21st century, following “Show Me How” by Foo Fighters (where Dave Grohl shares vocals with daughter Violet) and “Million Dollar Baby” by Tommy Richman. “Save Me Now” is the first Colin Brittain production to chart since back to back blockbuster successes for his work on Basement's 2018 album Beside Myself and Teenage Wrist's 2021 album Earth Is A Black Hole, which collectively produced nine Burner 50 #1s.
Deftones' "My Mind Is A Mountain" jumps 14-3 in its third week on the chart, helped by strong play and fast building M4B support that included an unexpected #5 Globalchart debut. The song now becomes the band's fifth top 3 peaker and is challenging for its second #1 following 2020's "Genesis". Footballhead drops to #4 with “Face To Face” after peaking in the runner-up spot last week, while Rise Against's "I Want It All" stays put at #5.
Thrice has the week's top debut at #27 with "Gnash", their first to chart in three years and hailing from the band's first album in four years.
