Quebec pop singer Rêve gets her first Big BUZZZ with "Contemporary Love".
NEW CHART RULES: As I mentioned a few weeks back, I have been concerned recently that I would be unable to continue creating a globalBUZZZchart Top 20 due to lack of available songs with at least 2 contributing charts. And that time has come just soon enough - there weren't any more songs to choose beyond this week's Top 20.
Effective with the next chart:
* All contributing charts will count towards the 'BUZZZchart
* Songs which have not yet reached the Top 30 (instead of the Top 40) on the Globalchart will be eligible for the 'BUZZZchart providing they are by artists who have yet to reach the Globalchart Top 20
These changes have also been made for the following reasons:
* We now have 4 or 5 less contributing charts than 5 years ago
* Songs can now reach the Globalchart Top 50 with only 2 contributing charts ranking them highly
* Because of the massive variety of music now available, many chartmakers' choices are isolated to their charts, meaning that other chartmakers are either not checking out those songs or decided not to chart them if they did
* Many chartmakers have favourite artists whose songs regularly reach the Top 20
* New favourites by a large group of chartmakers can now get to the Top 20 quickly - they may start out on the 'BUZZZchart but only for a week or two
To help with the latter I'd like to suggest something like "Check 'Em Out" forum that is strictly for the purpose of listening to chart adds or recommendations from other chartmakers that haven't appeared on anyone else's chart yet. This is different from the "Current Singles" forum, where we usually create polls to find out what others think. This forum isn't about being critical, it's about music discovery and perhaps leaving a comment if you like it and might chart it yourself. Just a thought to keep the new music flowing!
