Managed to survive another year despite many obstacles. Nice to see Jason Mraz and Benson Boone in there - "In The Stars" was on my list last year but became a radio hit this year belatedly. Also nice to see 2nd place American Idol contestants Adam Lambert and David Archuleta. I'm pleased with David's recent dance-oriented bops.

50. Claire Richards - I Surrender
Weeks: 17 Peak: #5
Steps' Claire Richards released a solo project this year, a covers album, the big hit covering Celine Dion's 2002 song "I Surrender" which topped my chart. Billy Gilman's cover also reached #2. It's the 3rd version of this song to go top 5 for me, and if it wasn't for heavy competition probably would've peaked higher.
49. Charlie Puth - Loser
Weeks: 26 Peak: #1 (3 weeks)
My favorite song from his 3rd album "Charlie.' The comical video also helped in its success. It started the year at #1 so split year was certainly a factor here.
48. For King + Country & Jordin Sparks - Love Me Like I Am
Weeks: 22 Peak: #7
Originally released as a solo song in 2022, the song was re-recorded with Idol alum Jordin Sparks, and became a rare nowadays top 10 on the AC chart despite no top 40 support. The song also did well on Hot AC and Christian.
47. Ava Max - Weapons
Weeks: 24 Peak: #6
This Ryan Tedder penned track was not an official US release but did well overseas and on my chart reaching #6.
46. Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - Miracle
Weeks: 22 Peak: #4
Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding team up once again on this 90s/00s Eurodace inspired track that of course went top 5 for me.
45. The Band Camino - See You Later
Weeks: 23 Peak: #10
They reached #9 last year with "I Think I Like You" and scored their 2nd top 10 hit this year.
44. Doechii - What it Is (Block Boy)
Weeks: 21 Peak: #7
A newcomer this year to my chart, Doechii got her breakthrough with this top 5 pop hit reaching #7 for me. (Of course I prefer the solo version).
43. Linkin Park - Lost
Weeks: 27 Peak: #3
Released 6 years after Chester Bennington's death, a previously unreleased track from the "Meteora" era, the song surfaced for the album's 20th anniversary.
42. JP Saxe - I Don't Miss You
Weeks: 25 Peak: #8
Canadian JP Saxe returns this year with a Hot AC hit co-written by John Mayer. Fitting title too.
41. Julio Iglesias Jr & Jewel - Careless Whisper
Weeks: 23 Peak: #5
24 years after "One More Chance," was a one-week wonder, Julio Iglesias Jr finally gets a big hit on my chart teaming with Jewel on this Wham! cover. Another interesting fact was his father Julio Iglesias also covered the song in 2006.

40. *NSYNC - Better Place
Weeks: 13 Peak: #1
22 years in the making *NSYNC finally dropped a new song after all this time and it became their 4th career #1 for me.
39. Kelsea Ballerini - Heartfirst
Weeks: 26 Peak: #4
The country crossover signer has been no stranger to the chart, and this year she got herself another top 5.
38. Joe Jonas & Khalid - Not Alone
Weeks: 21 Peak: #1 (3 weeks)
From the "Devotion" soundtrack, Joe Jonas scored his first solo #1 on my chart and Khalid got his 2nd with this collab.
37. Miley Cyrus - Jaded
Weeks: 20 Peak: #8
The 3rd single from Miley's album that also suffered from recurrentitus due to "Flowers" overplay, but still had a decent showing here.
36. Sabrina Carpenter - Nonsense
Weeks: 22 Peak: #3
The former Disney star finally got a pop top 10 with this tune and also made it to #3 on my chart.
35. Post Malone - Enough is Enough
Weeks: 16 Peak: #2
I'd say this is probably my favorite Post Malone song so far, and he's mostly hit or miss for me (more miss than hit). But this one hit me in the right spots and made it all the way to #2, out peaking "Circles" by 1 spot.
34. Matchbox Twenty - Wild Dogs (Running in a Slow Dream)
Weeks: 24 peak: #7
I was so glad they were able to make a comeback this year after a decade absence. I was supposed to see them live in 2003, but the show got canceled at the last minute because Rob had the flu and the show never got rescheduled. 20 years later I took advantage of Livenation week and I finally got to see them with my ladyfriend and they did not disappoint.
33. Kelly Clarkson - Me
Weeks: 24 Peak: #5
Hey kids, let me tell you a story about AA side singles from back in the day. Kelly Clarkson did so this year this being the 2nd side of the single. We'll see the other half soon.
32. Jvke - Golden Hour
Weeks: 23 Peak: #2
Honestly, I did not expect much after not liking his first single, but I was pleasantly surprised in a big way. The song got all the way to #2 on my chart after a dud. Sadly he hasn't come anywhere close to matching this with further releases.
31. Shawn Mendes - Heartbeat
Weeks: 30 Peak: #5
From the "Lyle Lyle Crocodile" soundtrack which he also provided the voice for the titular character. This was a slow grower for me but eventually made its way to the top 5 like many of his singles. [/b]

30. Shania Twain - Giddy Up!Weeks: 23 Peak: #5 Shania released her first new album in 6 years this year and "Giddy Up" was the 2nd single and became a surprise top 10 on AC. The song had more longevity for me reaching top 5. 29. SZA - Nobody Gets MeWeeks: 24 Peak: #6 Airplay wise, "Kill Bill" overshadowed this gem, but I much preferred this one. SZA had a breakthrough year and she scored her first solo top 10 for me. 28. Anson Seabra - Hard to Be HumanWeeks: 22 Peak: #5 This was a Spotify recommendation that stuck with me for a while. A slow climber it reached its top 5 peak in April. 27. Miley Cyrus - Used To Be YoungWeeks: 17 Peak: #1 (2 weeks) A great reflective song from Miley Cyrus that became her first #1 on my chart in 15 years. Used to Be Young" reflects on her wild "Bangerz" era and also topped the Hot AC chart. 26. Nicky Youre - Eyes On YouWeeks: 21 Peak: #3 Nicky Youre had the song of summer 2022 with "Sunroof," although on the charts he has yet to duplicate its success, "Eyes on You" is a worthy follow-up. And of course the kitten in the music video just takes the cake. 25. Lewis Capaldi - Forget MeWeeks: 34 Peak: #1 Lewis Capaldi topped the 2020-year end with "Before You Go," and returned at the tail end of last year with "Forget Me." A more upbeat single for the usual balladeer, it was a #1 in the UK and became his 2nd #1 for me. 24. Kylie Minogue - Padam PadamWeeks: 26 Peak: #4 The moment several of you have waited for Kylie returned to the US mainstream after a near 2 decade absence with this banger. "Padam Padam" also marked her first top 5 on my chart. Power to the legacy acts!! 23. S Club - These Are The DaysWeeks: 22 Peak: #1 (2 weeks) 2023 marked the bittersweet return of S Club, after nearly 2 decades the full reunion was cut short due to the sudden passing of member Paul Cattermole, and subsequently Hannah Spearritt leaving the reunion as a result. They released a new song in Paul's memory and it became their first #1 on my chart. 22. Billie Eilish - What Was I Made ForWeeks: 21 Peak: #1 (2 weeks) Billie's touching ballad released for the "Barbie" soundtrack became her 2nd #1 on my chart, and is expected to be an award winner for 2024. 21. Celine Dion - Waiting On YouWeeks: 26 Peak: #4 Celine's first appearance is at #21 and she has 3 appearances in the top 20. "Waiting On You" from the "Love Again" soundtrack which Celine has a supporting role film has been a breath of fresh air for Celine fans especially after her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis last year.

20. Kelly Clarkson - Mine
Weeks: 24 Peak: #3
And here's the first side to Kelly's AA single, "Mine" didn't get top 40 love, but got me love and that matters. It also did well on Hot AC.
19. The Weeknd - Die For You
Weeks: 34 Peak: #1
6 years after being released, the song exploded everywhere and was a #1 for me as well. It started the year at #4 before topping in February.
18. Dolly Parton, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan & Debbie Harry - Gonna Be You
Weeks: 24 Peak: #1 (2 weeks)
The big 80s collabfest from the "80 for Brady" soundtrack, and a song written by the GOAT Diane Warren just spelled immediate success. It marked the first #1 for everyone on the song except for Gloria, who got her 3rd #1 and her first in 19 years!
17. Hunter Hayes - Friend
Weeks: 32 Peak: #1 (2 weeks)
Too many releases at once hurt his chances at huge dominance this year, but "Friend" was the standout track for me. Hunter is no stranger to the top of my chart and took the top 2 of 2021. Asking for a friend, but is #17 ok this year?
16. Shinedown - A Symptom of Being Human
Weeks: 30 Peak: #5
Best known for their 2009 hit "Second Chance," Shinedown scored a big hit for me, their biggest here reaching the top 5. "A Symptom of Being Human" tackles mental health issues and the social stigma surrounding them which I can definitely relate to.
15. Dua Lipa - Dance the Night
Weeks: 26 Peak: #2
Pop's current "it" girl Dua Lipa lead the Barbie soundtrack with this lush pop ditty scoring another big hit for her here. The song was stuck at #2 for 4 weeks behind a song yet to come on the countdown.
14. Idina Menzel - Love Power
Weeks: 26 Peak: #5
Musical queen Idina Menzel is at it again. She's scored hits from "Wicked" and "Frozen" as well as "Glee" and this time it's a ballad from "Disenchanted."
13. Parmalee - Take My Name
Weeks: 35 Peak: #1
Asong about finding the person you wanna spend your life with. Originally released in 2021, it crossed over and had a lengthy stay on my chart eventually reaching the top spot for a week.
12. Ed Sheeran - Eyes Closed
Weeks: 27 Peak: #3
Recorded as a tribute to Jamal Edwards, "Eyes Closed" gave another big hit to the British ginger. While it wasn't the mammoth "Shape of You" was, it still made its impact.
11. Phillip Phillips - Dancing With Your Shadows
Weeks: 32 Peak: #1 (2 weeks)
The Idol winner's first single as an indie artist reached top 15 on Hot AC despite no label. Very reminiscent of something Sting would do, the upbeat ditty became his first #1 for me.
Some usual suspects with multiple top 10 placings, but who else will join them?

10. Celine Dion - Love Again
Weeks: 24 Peak: #1 (5 weeks)
Love Again was the lead single from the soundtrack of the same name co-starring Celine. She doesn't go big on "Love Again" as she does on other ballads, but the emotion is certainly there and fits well with the film's theme.
9. Dream Street - Smile
Weeks: 27 Peak: #1
3 of the original Dream Street members reunited this year with a new song "Smile" in memory of Chris Trousdale who passed away in 2020. Smile surprisingly became their first ever #1 for me.
8. Ricki-Lee - On My Own
Weeks: 34 Peak: #1 (4 weeks)
Australia's Ricki-Lee was a Spotify recommendation for me and I was immediately hooked. This was her first ever appearance on my chart and topped it for a month.
7. Alec Benjamin - Paper Crown
Weeks: 34 Peak: #1 (2 weeks)
The original version was released in 2017 but Alec re-recorded it in 2022 and the new version is even better. Aiming for his 3rd year-end #1, he'll have to settle for a lucky #7 spot this year.
6. Dean Lewis - How Do I Say Goodbye
Weeks: 27 Peak: #1 (4 weeks)
Dean Lewis scored a surprise top 3 Hot AC hit this year despite no pop support. This song dealing with his father's terminal cancer diagnosis certainly hit me, and as the year progressed didn't realize how much more it would hit me.
The top 5 will be revealed tomorrow!

5. Celine Dion - The Gift
Weeks: 33 Peak: #2
The 3rd single from "Love Again" and her 3rd appearance so far with 1 more to go.
4. Jonas Brothers - Summer Baby
Weeks: 33 Peak: #3
The 3rd single off "The Album" of course did well over the summer. This is the 2nd of 3 songs for the trio.
3. Lauren Daigle - Thank God I Do
Weeks: 34 Peak: #1 (3 weeks)
"Christian Adele" had a crossover a couple years back with "You Say." This year she had another crossover doing well on AC and Hot AC. The song samples Pink's "Just Give Me A Reason."
It's pretty clear who has the top 2 songs, but which one will end up on top? Find out tonight!!

2. Jonas Brothers - Waffle House
Weeks: 31 Peak: #1 (3 weeks)
#2 and #5 were separated by just 67 points. The JoBros' 2nd single may not have been the event the 2nd single from the previous album was (IYKYK) but was still a solid addition to their catalog. The message to the song "When you sit down with the people that matter most, anything is possible." Certainly lots of eras have exploded thanks to certain ngihts at a Waffle House.
1. Celine Dion - I'll Be
Weeks: 33 Peak: #1 (6 weeks)
The queen has done it yet again! The 2nd single from "Love Again" I always thought was much stronger than the title track, but for the #1 race this year... it wasn't even close. Not an Edwin McCain cover, Celine tops the year-end chart for an unprecedented 7th time, and her first since "Ashes" topped the 2018 year-end.
Thanks everyone who checked out and responded and happy new year!!!
