I'm not sure what it all means at the end of the day, but Country had a terrific year on the 'BUZZZchart, with 8 out of the top 12 songs from that genre, though Alt.Rock got the #1 song. Only two songs on the year end list advanced to the Globalchart Top 40, so contributing chartmakers were more decisive about what they deemed to be 'hits' on their charts, and a lot of Country and Alt.Rock songs had a smaller but devout group of contributors. I think country made an impact as a genre here is 1. we have separate personal charts for country and a country chart genre area. So I think that helps. #2.... At least for my mainstream personal chart, as well as others here, I have cross pollinated my pop/rock charts with worthy country songs too. Today's country music is more pop and rock oriented than it was back in the 1960s and 1970s... a style of country that I kind of miss seeing produced en masse today.
