Hello everyone! The Tuned-On! Top 30 has officially been online now for more than 8 years, I went public with this chart in a Top 10 format in mid-September 1997. And this week there are six rollicking debuts that should do well, with a passle of others waiting in the wings for two weeks from now.
The group is led by INXS' comeback hit with new singer J.D. Fortune called "Pretty Vegas". This is going to be huge, and I predict a healthy concert tour for the band. I hope to check them out again, I saw them 4 or 5 times with Michael Hutchence, and while I don't hope to rekindle the huge entertainment value of those concerts, it will be interesting to see how old faves are executed with a new singer. Dance music once again seems to be making its presence known on the chart, with both "Do What U Want" by JASEfos (aka Jase from Outta Space) and the enduring "Avalon" by Juliet making strong debuts. Darren Hayes, Jason Mraz (who I'll be seeing in concert again this Tuesday!) and John Mayer all make return engagements.
The top of the chart stays the same this week, but "The World Is Mine" could give way next week to a new #1. I would count as immediate contenders, songs by The Bitch Hotel, Josh Kelley, Howie Day, and maybe even INXS (which I was expecting to holdover till two weeks from now - couldn't wait!).
And I'm extremely impressed by "Gold Digger" by Kanye West featuring Jamie Foxx. It's the fastest riser and should go Top 10 in two weeks.
Thanks for reading, and I'll be happy to read any comments you have Check out the full chart using the link in my signature.
