Madison Beer's new song is so familiar, as it is practically a cover of The Turtles' 1968 hit "You Showed Me". The song was written by Gene Clark and Roger McGuinn of The Byrds. The video credits does not acknowledge the original writers. So is this a cover, plagiarism or what?
Just for comparison's sake, I am also including The Turtles hit here:

Undecided. I liked her earlier stuff, but haven't been much impressed with her more recent output. Still this is better than her trap stuff.

It's just so-so. This is a basically a new song that adds in the chorus from the original. Spotify shows the original songwriters getting credit but also four others including Beer because of the additional lyrics.
Slight play - was not even one of The Turtles' best tbh.
