CHART NOTES
Cuco is an alternative dream-pop solo artist from Hawthorne, California. He is known for music that features beautiful lyrics and psychedelic songs. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Cuco Omar Banos, is a prime example of young Chicano excellence. And now with his excellence comes Cucoʻs first #1 hit on the Current Top 20. “Sitting in the Corner” is a mixed hit featuring the guest vocals of country singer Kacey Musgraves and Mexican-Amrican singer Adriel Favela about a guy who loses his spouse to another suitor. The video for the song is shown at the top of this post.
Elsewhere in the Current Top 20… A big leap for Kane and Katelyn Brown as their debut single bullets from last weekʻs #18 position to #6 this week. That is a 12 point leap for the country-pop crossover ballad.
Two songs make their debut. BLACKPINK is back with another single, the third off their newly released album BORN PINK. The latest single is “Shut Down” entering the chart at #17. This is while BLACKPINKʻs “Pink Venom” is still on, dropping from #1 to #3 this week.
The second of the two debuts is by Red Hot Chili Peppers. “Tippa My Tongue” enters the chart at #20. It is a standalone single not on any album i know of. Cool.
