I’m wondering if you have songs that still carry an emotional charge even after you’ve listened to them so many times over the years?
These don’t necessarily have to be sad songs. They can be songs you find beautiful or meaningful to you. Most won’t have charted I imagine, but often became cult classics despite being unknown to a majority of people.
Here's a few of mine. What are yours? Maybe I can make a discovery.
Bette Midler – The Rose Billy Joel – Allentown Bruce Springsteen – The River David Bowie – Ashes to ashes Iron and Wine – Naked as we came Journey - Mother, Father Kate Bush - Army dreamers Murray Head – Say It Ain't So, Joe Neil Young - The Needle And The Damage Done Nine Inch Nails - Hurt Pearl Jam – Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town Peter Gabriel – Family Snapshot Peter Gabriel – Mercy Street Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Radiohead - Creep The Beatles – Eleanor Rigby Tori Amos - Winter XTC – Dear God

Thanks for sharing Bill!
Very happy to see that I’ve never listened to most of those! I’m familiar with the big hits from Cutting Crew, Donna Summer, INXS and I love Wuthering Heights.
And it’s really eerie that ‘No myth’ by Michael Penn is there because I listened to it recently, out of the blue.
I’ll give them a listen and see if they connect with me too.

Chase Rice's Bench Seat is a pretty powerful music video and song. I cried the first couple of times I watched it. Chase plays the role of a guy struggling with drug addiction, and it's loosely based on a true story. The song is written from the perspective of a dog that he rescues. I won't ruin it for you with too many details, but ultimately, he loses his battle with drug addiction, overdoses, and dies. people.com/country/chase-rice-bench-seat-music-video-behind-the-scenes/
