The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story was originally released in April 2019 to YouTube Premium, and is currently available for anyone to watch for free.
The The Boy Band Con tells the story of impresario and Ponzi scheme architect, Lou Pearlman. For those who were not aware, Lou essentially created *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, and tricked the group members into signing bad record deals, effectively giving most of their wealth to Lou instead of the group members themselves. Lou then used their success to provide a cover of legitimacy for his complex schemes of bank and investor fraud.
If you liked *NSYNC or the Backstreet Boys back in the day, you might be surprised to learn that both groups were started by the same person - Lou Pearlman. You also might be surprised to learn that when *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys were topping the charts, in their heyday, in the late 90's, the members of BSB and *NSYNC were making pennies for all their efforts! ...Meanwhile, Lou Pearlman was getting richer and richer!
Eventually, after many, messy legal actions, things were made as right as they could be... But, I won't spoil it for you, give this movie a watch!
It's such an interesting story! If you liked BSB or *NSYNC back in the day, or even if you didn't and are just interested in the music industry, this documentary is a must watch!

Hervard: In case anyone's wondering, that is a sentence I made up using the eight "exception" words to the "i before e except after c" rule - words with a long "e" sound, that is. I learned all of this in English class in my junior year in HS.

J.T.: Frickin' English...here are a couple mind-blowing sentences, in that they are grammatically correct: "All the faith he had had had had no effect on the outcome of his life" or "The complex houses married and single soldiers and their families."

J.T.: Some languages have tongue twisters. We don't need those in English. The whole gosh darn language is a tongue twister and a mind bender!
