Get ready for business advice from The Apprentice.
Bill Rancic, the winner of Donald Trump's hit NBC reality series, is looking to cash in on his TV fame, having cinched a deal with HarperCollins to write a book about his approach to business success.
Step 1: Get on a TV show. Step 2: Win said TV show. Step 3: Spend the rest of your days milking your 15 minutes.
Okay, we're guessing Rancic will have a little bit more to write about, but we'll have to wait until the fall, when You're Hired: How to Succeed in Business and Life from the Winner of The Apprentice hits shelves.
"The American dream is still alive and well, and nice guys can finish first," Rancic said in a statement. "I hope that this book will inspire others to have courage, pursue dreams and convert risk into success."
After selling his stake in a Chicago-based cigar club--and failing at a shot to be ABC's The Bachelor, the 32-year-old Rancic hit the big time by getting a slot on Trump's made-for-TV job hunt.
Rancic beat out 15 other contestants to land what Trump called "the dream job of a lifetime"--a $250,000-a-year gig heading up development of the 90-story Trump International Hotel in Chicago.
Of course, one of the reasons Rancic has time to write a book is because his apprenticeship hasn't exactly gone according to plan. The Donald, mired with $2 billion in debt from his Atlantic City casino holdings--has reportedly had difficulty finding financing for the Chicago project, leaving its future--and Rancic's dream job--in doubt.
No immediate comment from Trump or NBC on the current status of Rancic's Chicago project.
But at least Bill is still on the Trump payroll, unlike Apprentice runner-up, Kwame Jackson. The latter was fired last week from being a judge at Trump's annual Miss Universe pageant in Quito, Ecuador, after waving to some of the wannabe beauty queens in a hotel.
Still, Kwame's not slacking. He's reportedly ready to launch Legacy Communications, a start-up production company that's looking to raise $2.5 million to finance a documentary on legendary Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden.
Perhaps he could use a little advice from Bill?.
Kwame and fans of Rancic can preorder You're Hired at Amazon.com. The book will also be available on CD for the literacy-challenged would-be mogul.
