100. Jefferson Starship – “Stairway To Cleveland” (1981)The pretentious cows at Rolling Stone gave their 1979 album Freedom At Point Zero a negative review, and this was pretty much the band's response. Not only is this song insanely catchy and kick ass, but I love the message that they're going to keep doing their thing and they don't care what other people think. Also, the line "f*ck YOU! WE DO WHAT WE WANT!" will never NOT be iconic. 99. The Eagles – “One Of These Nights” (1975)One of the many Eagles songs I grew up on. Loved it as a kid, still love it today. Definitely one of the best songs of the 70's. 98. Garbage – “When I Grow Up” (1999)I am almost positive I've heard this before when it was out, because when I (re)discovered it in 2005, it sounded so familiar to me. But either way, this is a great song with a sound that totally takes me back to the late 90's. One of their best! 97. Linda Ronstadt – “You’re No Good” (1975)I first heard this at like the tail end of 2013, and I was shocked at what I listened to. I actually didn't care for Linda that much when I was younger. I remember when I first started getting into 80's music I wrote "Don't Know Much" off as a geezer ballad (what was I thinking?) and although I did like "Somewhere Out There" as a kid, I didn't know who sang it until, well, the tail end of 2013. I listened to this assuming it would be a Helen Reddy or Stresiand type of ballad, and I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead, I got this kick ass rock song sung by a woman with an incredible, soulful voice. If THIS was what Linda Ronstadt was all about, then I needed to hear more - and that, of course, is what caused me to bump this thread where we debated who my next core artist would be. This remains as my favorite song of hers today, and four years later Van Halen did their own version of this on Van Halen II that's also excellent. 96. Pat Benatar – “Promises In The Dark” (1981)I first heard this in late 2006 on a 1981 episode of AT40 around the time I started becoming obsessed with her, and was BLOWN THE f*ck AWAY. Like dude, are we for real right now??!?! This song is just as f*ckING EPIC now as it was when I first heard it 12 years ago. Definitely one of her top three best songs ever, and my favorite track on her excellent Precious Time album. 95. Jefferson Starship – “Winds Of Change” (1982)This song, for about two and a half years, was my ringtone. It's soooo good! This song is a good mix of what I was into in high school (80's hard rock), and what I've gotten into in recent years (the queen of music and her amazing voice). Such an incredibly underrated song from an incredibly underrated album. Grace looks hot as hell in the video too, but the sky is also blue. 94. Whitesnake – “Is This Love” (1987)"Still Of The Night" is one of two reasons why I find "Here I Go Again" overrated. The second reason is right here. Actually, come to think of it, "Here I Go Again" is probably the weakest song on this fantastic album. But anyway, I first heard this I believe in late 2006 during a 1987 episode of AT40, and I absolutely loved it. I've always been a sucker for power ballads, and David Coverdale sounds great here. One of my favorite 80's songs ever! 93. The Cranberries – “Free To Decide” (1996)This was a favorite of mine from the moment I first discovered it in 2006. Still really love this one! 92. Lita Ford – “Falling In And Out Of Love” (1988)When I first started getting into Lita, this song was an instant highlight for me. Again, I've always had a thing for power ballads. There's a reason why I'm the lone Damn Yankees stan. It's just so epic and I love Lita's guitar solo on this. 91. Fiona Apple – “Criminal” (1997)I'll take "Music videos I had no business watching at age 5", Alex. There were many of them but this is one of the first that comes to mind. I'm glad I was exposed to this though because this was a HUGE favorite of mine as a kid (I know so weird lmao), and it has aged incredibly well today. Her voice sounds SO good on this song. This is another one that just takes me back to the 90's every time I hear it. 1976 (1) 1977 (2) 1978 (1) 1983 (2) 1988 (1) 1994 (1) 1995 (1) 1996 (1) 90. Pat Benatar 89. Foo Fighters 88. The Cranberries 87. Def Leppard 86. The Eagles 85. Oasis 84. The Eagles 83. Heart 82. Blue Oyster Cult 81. Def Leppard

If you ever watched the Adam Sandler movie "Big Daddy", you would have heard "When I Grow Up" in it. It was the song that got me into Garbage A bunch of other oldies I have to check out here, as the only other one I know is "Criminal". It was kinda meh to me.

I will say for #89, #87, and #85, you do have the correct albums. Also "Rock Of Ages" was #144.

90. Pat Benatar – “Love Is A Battlefield” (1983)The first time I heard this one was when I was a kid. WALK 97.5 in Long Island played this one a lot, and I really liked it at the time but - to the surprise of no one - I grew to absolutely love it over the years. The song is an 80's classic and I love Neil's guitar solo at the end, also the video is iconic and she looks gorgeous af in it, but then again, the grass is also green. 89. Foo Fighters – “I’ll Stick Around” (1995)I don't know how to bring this up without embarrassing myself, but... I first heard this around the time I was hating on "Best Of You" - those who were around in 2005 may remember, all I'm going to say is "Worst Of Foo" and leave it at that. But anyway this was back when Comedy Central was airing reruns of Saturday Night Live - WITH the musical guests not cut out - and one night I saw an episode where the Foos were the musical guests, and this was the song they performed. I remember thinking it was so heavy and badass, two things I was VERY drawn to especially at that time. To this day I think it's one of their best songs, which is pretty ironic considering that this was a diss to Courtney Love. 88. The Cranberries – “Salvation” (1996)When I first started getting into The Cranberries, this one was a major highlight for me in their catalogue. Still love it just as much as I did when I first heard it in 2006. One of their best! 87. Def Leppard – “Stagefright” (1983)I submitted this one in the Song Contest a few years ago - although it's very easy to forget considering it was the same round where @xfer submitted the now M4BCC classic, "I'm A Mother" by Perfume Genius. Pyromania and Hysteria are two of my favorite albums of all-time (although I actually slightly prefer the former). Every song on Pyromania from start to finish is excellent, and this one in particular was a major highlight that I'm completely dumbfounded was never released as a single. I cannot say this is my all-time favorite album track though - we won't be seeing that until we get to the top 40! 86. The Eagles – “Hotel California” (1977)Dude, COME ON. Seriously though, COME ON. Do I REALLY have to explain this one??? This is only one of the most iconic rock songs EVER. I have loved this one ever since I was a kid, and I rediscovered it a few years ago thanks to Grace Slick turning me into a 70's whore. The radio may have been whoring this one out for the last 40 years, but I am truly still not sick of it. 85. Oasis – “Slide Away” (1994)Paul McCartney once called this his favorite Oasis song - for me it's my 8th, which says a lot considering it's all the way at #85! I must really hate these guys. Seriously though, a f*cking fantastic album track from one of their best albums. 84. The Eagles – “Victim Of Love” (1977)A lot of what I said about "Hotel California" could also apply to this. Excellent song, my favorite from them. 83. Heart – “Straight On” (1978)Loved this one ever since I first discovered it around 2006/2007. One of my favorite 70's songs from them, and one of their best ever. Excellent song! 82. Blue Oyster Cult – “Don’t Fear The Reaper” (1976)I liked this one when I was a kid, but I didn't know until years later the artist or title of the song. This song has such a haunting and mellow sound to it, but still somehow manages to be badass at the same time. This is my favorite from them and one of my favorite 70's songs ever. The only issue I have with this song is that it doesn't have enough cowbell. 81. Def Leppard – “Hysteria” (1988)This has been my favorite from them since I first discovered this in 2005 thanks to LAUNCH (oh how I miss the LAUNCH game!!). Amazing power ballad from one of the best albums ever! 1984 (1) 1985 (1) 1994 (1) 1995 (3) 1996 (1) 1998 (2) 1999 (1) 80. Dio 79. The Cranberries 78. Alanis Morissette 77. Madonna 76. Quiet Riot 75. Oasis 74. Green Day 73. Skid Row 72. New Radicals 71. Green Day

"Love Is A Battlefield" - just incredible. The fact you have EIGHT Oasis songs ABOVE it just makes me shake my head And how GOOD is "Salvation"? I'm just sad I didn't get to hear it more often growing up because I ALMOST forgot about it until now "Zombie" was that iconic that it kind of drowned it out I guess. And 'Hotel California' - look, I won't say I hate it, cos I don't, but I don't love it either

80. Dio – “Rock ‘N’ Roll Children” (1985)I heard this one for the first time around ten years ago, and loved it right away. Still one of my favorite Dio songs! 79. The Cranberries – “Ridiculous Thoughts” (1995)Another major highlight for me in their catalogue. One of their best! 78. Alanis Morissette – “Head Over Feet” (1996)One of the first Alanis songs I ever heard. I still love this just as much as I did back in the 90's. Everyone knows how dear to my heart Alanis is, so it should come as no surprise that she has SIX songs in the top 77! 77. Madonna – “Frozen” (1998)I remember talking about this on Skype pretty recently, but the very first Madonna song I heard was "Express Yourself". Shortly after that, I saw the video for what was at the time her brand new single - this - and was completely dumbfounded that it was the same artist, but that's just one of the many examples of Madonna's brilliant image/sound changes over the years. This truly did not sound like anything else that was on the charts at that time and it always stood out to me, with it's excellent music video and Madonna's beautiful but very haunting vocals (I will never understand the criticism she gets for her voice). This song and video bring back so many memories for me of when I first started getting into music. My favorite from her! 76. Quiet Riot – “Bang Your Head (Metal Health)” (1984)I heard this for the first time around late 2006/early 2007 and LOVED it, even more than their big hit "Cum On Feel The Noize" which I also really loved at the time (I still do now, but it missed the list). This is one of the first heavy metal songs I ever loved. This song kicks so much ass and is such a great song to crank up. In the words of DJ Jessizle talking about 21 Pilots and Imagine Dragons, doesn't this song make you wanna ROCK OUT?! DAYUM! 75. Oasis – “Live Forever” (1994)Yet another bop from everyone's favorite drunk brothers. One of my favorites from them! 74. Green Day – “Time Of Your Life” (1998)I heard this when it was out and I liked it a lot, but I definitely grew to love this more when I started getting into Green Day around 2004/2005. One of their best songs for sure and a great "f*ck you" to all the people who said they weren't punk enough. 73. Skid Row – “Breakin’ Down” (1995)If there was ONE positive thing to come out of my first relationship, it was discovering this song. My asshat of an ex-boyfriend sent me a list of albums he wanted me to check out, and this album, Subhuman Race, was one of them. I loved the first two Skid Row albums, and I figured since this was their third and final album with original lead singer Sebastian Bach, this would be right up there (I don't f*ck with their post-Sebastian Bach stuff. Don't get me started on their "remake" of "I Remember You"!). It's a great, underrated album that has them experimenting more with the alternative and grunge sound of the 90's, but although I still prefer their first two albums, I think this is the best song they've ever done. An excellent ballad with some of Baz's best vocals ever. 72. New Radicals – “You Get What You Give” (1999)Hey, it's Teenage Wrist's favorite band! I may have heard this when it was out, to be honest I don't remember, but I (re)discovered this around 2005/2006 and became obsessed with it. Excellent song and one of the best of the late 90's! 71. Green Day – “When I Come Around” (1995)My second favorite from them and a 90's classic. Love it! 1986 (1) 1987 (1) 1992 (1) 1995 (1) 1996 (1) 1997 (2) 1998 (1) 1999 (2) 70. Alanis Morissette 69. Backstreet Boys 68. Aerosmith 67. Backstreet Boys 66. Heart 65. Backstreet Boys 64. Starship 63. Selena 62. The Cranberries 61. Alice In Chains
