The final votes are in, and we have a result!
Who has taken out Round 2 of the 2017 M4BCC Song Contest? Will it make a difference? Has anyone who wasn't in the Bottom 3 last week been pipped at the post in the tally?
Without further a-do, let's find out!
But, first of all, I need to introduce to you all our live act for the evening! You may remember this artist caused quite a stir on M4BCC a few years back when she released her global smash-hit, "3-second-rule"!
Oh my goodness!! Wasn't that just incredible?! And a duet/group-version was an extra-special treat! It really pulls at the heartstrings each time you hear it, right?
Okay, okay. I admit, we've had a few budget constraints and Lisa-Gail kindly offered to perform this week. We did ask Chris Brown but he seemed very angry when I proposed it to him. I think he's still angry with us all about the big trip he had to make in the 'House Of Randomness.'
Anyway, where was I? Oh that's right, I was announcing the results. I really need my own three-second rule implemented in this game to get on with it.
Right!
The stage is set, the lights are on, Lisa-Gail is back in the green-room. Who is going to join her and who gets to remain on stage to gloat this week? HERE WE GO!
First up, I'd like to call up Ari-Safari to the stage! Welcome Ari! You had a good week last week, coming in at 4th place for the week and therefore also on the tally. This week, you submitted Song 1, 'Ex To See' by American country singer-sometimes-talker, Sam Hunt! Sam was nominated for two Grammy's in 2015, so did the rest of us think of your submission was as good as you do? It's a very clever song-title, I have to admit, with the play-on-words. Well, I can reveal that you are the first person on stage, and your song received ONE first-place vote and one third-place vote, and ended up with a total of 20 Points! The benchmark has been set. Well done Ari!
Next up, joining Ari on stage is Pipa! Pipa, or Kim, I'm not sure which you prefer to be called but I'll stick with Pipa because that's the robotic voice I've heard from you Last week, you ended up in the Bottom 3 in a very tight race, so have you been saved from remaining in it this week? You submitted Song 2, "Wounded Bird" by late-80's American rock band, The Black Crowes! I really do hope that bird is okay. I can reveal that your song received TWO first-place votes and one third-place vote from your fellow competitors. You also received a total of 30 Points for the week, which is an impressive score, so it seems a lot of us liked it! This places you 10 points ahead of Ari. Well done Pipa!
Okay. Bryan! Get on up here. Last week, you submitted an impressive song which took out 2nd place in Round 1. Have you held on? Well let's see *gets handed card.* Ahem. You submitted Song 3, "Don't Let Go" by 70's British-American rock-band, Foreigner! What I can reveal is that your song received ONE first-place vote and FOUR second-place votes from your competitors. As I'm sure you can add up, this means that five of your competitors seemed to really like your song! How many points do you have for the week? Does it beat Pipa? Yes it does! Your song received 37 points for the week, which I can also reveal, beats Jess's winning score of 34 points in Week 1. But, does that still count here in Week 2? Has anyone beaten your score? Let's find out!
You've been waiting patiently Michael! It's your turn This is a big week for you, as you were unfortunately JUST pipped at the post by one measly-point to remain out of last place in Week 1, so this week you need to do well (No pressure!)
you submitted Song 4, "Still In Love With You" by Norma Jean Martine! Such a beautiful title for a song, I must say. I can reveal that your song this week received ONE first-place vote and also one second-place vote. How else did everyone score? I can reveal that your song received 31 Points for the week, beating Pipa by 1 Point, and currently placing you into second place behind Bryan! Well done Michael!
Right, who submitted Song 5? Well, this week that would have been Jess! Jess, last week, you slayed like Slaydele and took out the winning song for Week 1. Have you managed to make like Robyn and "do it again"? Let's find out! This girl is your competition at the moment guys! Pick up your game
Jess, as I said, you submitted Song 5, which was "Rage" by 70's American rock band Heart! It was a clever choice because who else would have possibly submitted a Heart song in a Song Contest?? Surely not Jess! But you did, and I can now reveal that "Rage" received TWO first-placed votes and also one third-placed vote. I can see Bryan biting his nails. Has your song beaten his song this week? 37 is a big number to overtake. Has Heart done it? Okay, I'll get on with it. You received 31 Points for the week, currently TYING with Michael for second place!
So far that is. We have three more competitors awaiting their results. Notice I haven't asked anyone to join Lisa-Gail in the green-room yet? That's because a) I'm not mean and b) this week IS an elimination week. Your points here will give away your tally result and when the tally is added up, whomever is in the bottom 3 ON THE TALLY will then join Lisa-Gail in a karaoke session of our opening live act song for the week. You don't want to do that now, do you? Or do you?
It could be anyone's game so far. On we go!
Up next is Sam! Sam, last week you placed 5th, just out of the bottom 3 but smack-bang in the middle, so you're in an interesting spot on the tally. It could go either way for you here, so let's find out how you went. You submitted (probably the most hilarious song-title of the week) Song 6, "Yankee In A Chip Shop" by American pop-punk band, The Matches! Your song was a popular one this week and received ONE first place vote, TWO second place votes and two third-place votes! You ended up with a total of 34 Points! Well done Sam! This currently places you into second place, knocking Jess and Michael back to a tied third place. Well done Sam!
It looks like Bryan is hard to beat with a huge 37 Points this week, but let's see if the final two competitors can do so.
Up next is, well, it's ME! Matt, run down off stage and back up again because you submitted Song 7, "Open" by Californian R&B duo, Rhye! How did an R&B track do against the rock, the punk and the country songs this week? You need a good week this week, Matt (this is so weird lol) because last week you were tied with Pipa in the Bottom-3. Have you been saved, or will you be up for Elimination? Anyway, before my head explodes, your song received ONE second-place vote and one third-place vote. You ended up with a total of 26 Points, which only beats Ari's song so far this week. I'm sorry Matt, it looks like you might be in trouble and your elimination song may need to save you.
Finally! We're here. The final song for Week 2. Mike S, get on up here! Last week, you placed third on the tally, which is a good position to be in. What did everyone think of your song, Song 8, "Nothing To Say" by Indie American rock-band, Hurry. Well, this was risky. We all know what Jess thinks of Indie bands But the rest of us might like them! Anyway, your song received ONE third-place vote for the week and you have a total of 15 Points. This means that this week, you placed in final place.
Well done everyone! Week 2 has come to a close. Here's how Week 2 went.

In light of my mathematical stuff-up, I've decided to eliminate myself so everyone else moves on to Week 3. Many apologies again to Michael for the inconvenience.
I will need Week 3 submissions. If you wish to submit new Elimination songs also, you may.
Edit: Okay I am un-eliminating myself. I realized I was a bit hard on myself because whilst the tally points are correct, I just stuffed up the tie-break. (I think this is a Song Contest first!) - all tally points and points now carry over into Week 3, where the first (hopefully proper this time) elimination will take place.
Week 3 Song Submissions and new Elimination Songs close on Sunday July 2nd at 23:59 EST. If I don't receive a new Elimination song, the already submitted Elimination song from the bottom 3 in this round will be used/re-used.
Good luck to the bottom 3!
Here are the three songs submitted for this week's Elimination Round.

- As with the main rounds of the Song Contests, no-one can reveal the identities of the songs or whom submitted each song
- The two contestants who receive the most amount of votes will move on to Week 3 of the competition. The contestant with the least will leave the competition.
- The songs for Week 3 will be posted at the end of this elimination round or earlier depending on if all votes and submissions are received early.
VOTE VOTE VOTE! Vote for your FAVOURITE song.
Because I am unable to see who has voted, you ARE able to vote for your own song in the elimination round. Whoever has the least amount of votes will leave the competition. Those of you who haven't already, you can now submit your Week 3 song by SUNDAY JULY 2nd, 2017 at 23:30 EST. This is also when Elimination Song voting will close. If you are up for Elimination this week (Michael, Mike and myself), you will also need to submit to me new Elimination songs, as your current ones are being used this round. Those who remain will move on to Week 3 of the competition and the Tally will reset to '0'. There is once again no theme as I already have received some songs for Week 3
Once again, good luck to this week's Bottom 3 contestants!
