Well, I've pretty much explained everything already because I was on such a high when I saw her on Sunday night, but here's what I can remember from the Adele concert.
It was held on my city's CRICKET STADIUM. Yup, pretty much the only circular stadium we have in Brisbane is The GABBA, and Adele herself even bitched on stage about how much effort she had to go to to even perform there because our council were being such wankers (no surprise there, really)
This is where my el-cheapo seat was up in the grandstands haha
so the videos I've been sharing have all had the stupid glare off the screens but I actually had an awesome view and could see both her and the screens quite well.
She opened with "Hello". Makes sense, as that's how one normally greets people. Those closed-eyes on the screen opened when she first sang the word 'Hello', sending the crowd into a frenzy.
Basically I was too excited to even make a setlist of what she sang and when. No way. This was Adele, I wasn't missing a second. She did a 2-hour show with no real break other than when the kiss-cam was on, which was hilarious. The crowd were really fun and the camera panned to all sorts of people, all of whom went in for the kiss. Luckily it didn't land on me because I didn't know the people either side of where I was sitting
She did all of her singles that were hits here, and even performed her 'country' song, which was inspired because she is such a massive fan of 'Alison Krauss', which was a huge surprise to me. I had no idea! I remember charting a few of Alison's songs back in the day, including "Forget About It', "The Lucky One" and "When You Say Nothing At All".
She did "Rolling In The Deep" which included a story about how she had to climb into a tank full of water to shoot the clip that was playing on the screens as she sang the song. She said it wasn't easy because she was wearing long flowing dresses whilst trying to swim haha. It looked really cool though!
She sang "Chasing Pavements" which I think was one of the first songs I heard from her, from the '19' album?
She shot t-shirts around the crowd from her cannon. I took a video of this bit
She finished with "Someone Like You", her biggest hit here probably besides "Hello". And she EXITED THE STADIUM THROUGH THE CROWD!!! I guess given her stage she probably had to. But it certainly sent everyone wild. Including my friend who was up the front and said she walked by him about 5 meters away. Lucky duck!
Anyway, not much of a review, but I'd even go as far to say that she was so much fun that she's probably ALMOST on par with when I saw Celine Dion (don't tell Celine that I said that though)
