I just got back from the Liberty X, East 17, S Club, Atomic Kitten and B*Witched concert!
It was so good. Really, it was. Brisbane was the final show of the tour (we seem to get lucky with that, Mariah's finale' was here also) so the band's were on a real high that they were flying back home to the UK and Ireland tomorrow. One of the B"Witched members said that she is staying here for a week though
Anyway, I went with four other guys, three whom I'd only just met. Only me and the guy I knew were wearing our "My Little Pony' T-Shirts. If you have me on Facebook you may have already seen the pic
Liberty X were great, and did three songs, and opened up with "Just a Little". I'm not sure if I'd heard the other two before but one sounded familiar. "Just A Little" got the crowd pumped.
East 17 opened up with "House Of Love", did a few other tracks in between, and closed with "It's Alright". They really were alright!
Next up was S Club 2! Yes, 2! Apparently Jo was there making up the 3rd member, but she'd had an accident somewhere along the tour, and was in hospital in New Zealand! So it was just Tina and Bradley. All of us were perving on Brad - he's definitely holding up well 20 or so years on
Anyway, even though there were only the two of them, they sure as hell put on a good performance! For the ballads, they got random members of the crowd up the front to attempt those songs, because normally, Jo is the one who sings those, and whoever they chose sure did a good job!
I was back in the crowd a bit. I Snapchatted a lot of it if anyone uses that, my username is 'luvncraze' - add me! You'll see pretty much all of the singles but only 10 seconds of each (because it's Snapchat) but do it within 24 hours before they disappear They closed with "Don't Stop Moving" but did pretty much all of their songs that were hits here, "S Club Party", "Bring It All Back", "Never Had A Dream Come True", "Reach" etc.
Up next was Atomic Kitten! Between the three girls, they have 11 kids. One of the girls was especially wild and kept saying things like 'The reason we have so many kids is because we enjoy a lot of something else." Hilarious.
They had a new girl in the group, whose name is Michelle. She told the other two girls that she was 'Saving their bacon" by being there
Hey, S Club did it minus 5 other members!
They sang really well and did all their hits, "The Tide Is High". "Eternal Flame" and closed with "Whole Again", plus a few others they had. I didn't take note of the songs like I did at Mariah, I was just enjoying it, especially when the battery on my phone ran out because I was Snapchatting too much Luckily I got most of the songs I wanted to, but I missed out on the last two songs that B*Witched did.
Speaking of, it was SO good to hear those blended Irish voices again. They look so good too! Their music is so so Irish it's not funny. You can tell it's uniquely them in every song. They opened with "Jesse Hold On", performed their newish one that I charted last year "Love And Money", a few others like "Rollercoaster" (which they made sure to mention spent 5 weeks at number 1 here) and "Jump Down", and closed with "Blame It On The Weatherman" (my fav!) and "C'est La Vie".
Funny thing happened though. B*Witched had a slight "Mariah-NYE moment' when during "Blame It On The Weatherman", one of them lost where they were up to on the song, which threw the other two and the three of them just kept swaying/dancing away until the chorus came around again and they started singing into the microphone again The backing track and DJ kept the song going but it was so awkward for a little while there Whoops! Still, they did a great job and closed out the show with the "C'est La Vie' encore.
We were all really glad that we went. I still have the songs running through my head.
Sorry for the crappy review this time, but I've had a HUGE day and I'm about to pass out.
