Welcome to the final M4BCC Song Contest results show! In this thread, we'll find out who won this edition - Brady or Cody. THE BATTLE IS ON!
Brothas, it's been a hard-fought competition. We've been through it all - a ridiculous amount of ties in the elimination round, the fact that the final round is week 14 and we started in October, and, of course, Perfume Genius. No matter who wins, you both played a kickass game, and considering how far you both have come since we started this game eight months ago, it just goes to show that patience was indeed a virtue for you guys. YOU GO BROTHAS!
Song 1 was submitted by Brady. This was his 90's song, "Semi-Charmed Life" by Third Eye Blind. Song #2 was submitted by Cody. It was his 90's song, "Two Worlds Collide" by Inspiral Carpets. Between these two songs, which contestant got shown more love? The answer to that is... Brady. Song #1 received 22 points vs. 9 points for Song #2.
Next up, we take a look at the regular competition songs. Song #3 was Cody's, "How Did You Love" by Shinedown. Brady's regular competition song was Song #5, "Shoot Out The Lights" by Caitlyn Shadbolt, which fortunately sounded nothing like "Shut Off The Lights" by Betty Davis, a 70's screamfest that I played on the Funk episode of The Book Club. Shinedown received 13 points, bringing Cody's total to 22 points. However, Caitlyn Shadbolt received 17 points. So at the end of two rounds, we have Brady with 39 points and Cody with 22 points.
And finally, songs by your favorite artist. Do I really have to tell you who submitted what here? Song #4, "Clumsy" by Our Lady Peace was submitted by Cody. Meanwhile, Brady submitted Song #6, "Read My Mind" by The Killers. Our Lady Peace received 12 points, and The Killers received 11, which now brings Brady's total to 50 and Cody's total to 34. That means that the winner of the M4BCC Song Contest 2015 is...
BRADY!
Congratulations, Lisa-Gail > Madonna ! Here's some of your favorite bops to celebrate to!
As the winner of this edition of the Song Contest, you win free tickets to see Lisa Gail-Allred live in concert, a record deal with Fungus Records to have your debut single produced by either Sebastian Prospero OR Sebastian Sauerkraut, and an iTunes gift card with no balance on it because @whoselinefan used it all on apps! Plus, you'll get an all-expenses paid trip to Florida where you will be able to meet thousands of Mary Anns! BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! You also get to annoy me with an annoying indie song of your choice!
Cody , you should also be proud of how well you did! We here at the M4BCC Song Contest recognize that you should be rewarded for all of your hard work too and we don't want you to leave empty handed. As runner-up to Brady, you've won a lifetime supply of copies of Puddle Of Mudd's 1994 Stuck EP, so you'll always have some rock and rool with you wherever you go!
Congratulations to the both of you, but especially Brady. I had a blast hosting this Song Contestexcept when we had all those damn ties and I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Hope you all will participate in the next game!
