Aww, no wild guesses for the other two songs? (BTW, the three that you did guess were correct).
10) According to me, a "No. Just no" song, due to how depressing it is. Had I not changed my chart figuration, in relation to the year-enders, in 2006, this one may well have wound up as the top song of the decade, which I don't think I could stomach.
Don't let song #7 take control of you. You've solved toughies like this so many times before.

Correct! And, with that, four more years are exhausted - 2001 and 2005, 2006 and 2007.
Now, we'll take it one song at a time all the way to the top.
5) The highest ranked party song on the chart.

Yep! 2004 is now cleared out.
4) One of the biggest new acts of the 2000s. So big that it's possible that even the title of this song couldn't faze them.

Correct!
3) This was the top song of the decade, according to Nielsen Soundscan, and also the top rock song of the 2000s. Definitely impressive for a debut single, and there was a lot more where that came from.

2) This song, by something you might see while lying down on the ground outside, finally hit #1 a year after its release.

That is correct, and 2000 is now cleared out!
1) The only song left! it set a record on AT40 that was tied about a year and a half later (and may have been broken since, but I'm not sure, since I don't listen to AT40 anymore).

That is it! In more ways than one, as that wraps up our Top 1000 of the 2000s!
Wow, back at the beginning of this year, I had set a goal to finish it up by the end of the year, but then I got sidetracked several times and it looked like the game would end sometime in the spring. However, the pace began to pick up when we got up to the more familiar songs and, in fact, we finished if off two weeks ahead of time.
