For the past month, along with my eagle avatar, you've been reading about my "Triple Play". Well, in 2007, I posted the guessing game for the Top 1000 songs of the 1980s, then in 2013, we all played the Top 1000 of the 1990s game. Now, the third one, the Top 1000 of the 2000s has been computed and ranked, and now we start that guessing game. Before we start, we'll give song #1001 "honorable mention", since it racked up 82 points, the same point total of #999 and #1000. The song is by an act named after a weather event from last century.
GOOD LUCK!!

Bry had it right.
1000) A song by a band who was very popular in the late 1990s, especially on the AC chart (which seemed strange, given the age of their target audience). This was their final Top 30 hit (on my version of the chart, anyway).
999) A member of a band similar to that of song #1000. This is said member's second solo hit.
998) The title of this song, by an alternative rock band who had a handful of Top 40 hits, was also a title of a former Top Ten hit by an Aussie band.
997) Light speed, perhaps?
996) A texas instrument is heard in this song.
GOOD LUCK!!

You only got one of those correct by both title and artist. The other two, you got the artists correct.

999. Jesse McCartney - She's No You? Actually, 999 is the other one that you had the artist correct. "Disappear" by Hoobastank was your completely correct guess. As for the others, here are a few easier clues: 997: The "light speed" clue applied to the artist. 996: This song literally features a Texas Instrument in the bridge.

999. Nick Lachey & Jessica Simpson - Where You Are? 997. 30 Seconds To Mars - The Kill? I know Texas Instruments is a calculator company but I can't think of what song had calculator sounds in it.

#997 is correct.
And I have already made my first mistake. I got my boyband members all mixed up. #999 is not by Nick Lachey. It's by a member of another boyband - the last of two solo hits that he charted with.
Think of another product besides calculators that was made by Texas Instruments.
