Simone Battle, a member of US girl group G.R.L, has died, aged 25. Her death was confirmed in a joint statement from Reign Deer Entertainment, Robin Antin, Kemosabe Records, and RCA Records. It read: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. "Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. "Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time." The cause of Battle's death is not yet known and there's so far been no word from her bandmates. Battle was originally part of the line-up for the new version of the Pussycat Dolls, put together by the Dolls' original creator Robin Antin. However, after a few line-up changes, that group eventually became G.R.L. www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/29093310

UK's The Daily Mail first published this is a "suicide". More sources have confirmed this. I am not convinced yet, as no reputable source has published this as a suicide and she had not history of attempts or depression according to what I can find via simply Google searches. But it seems the most likely cause of death given the circumstances (i.e. spent the evening with her family, no drugs found, no history of drug use, had long conversation with father about how quickly life was moving a few hours before being found dead).

Another possibility is that she was probably really exhausted from all the work she has been doing with G.R.L. and it caught up to her health-wise, but still, she was very young so I think it was suicide too. R.I.P.

I expected it to be due to a drug overdose.

Suicide by hanging in her closet has been confirmed. So awful...Every time I hear a suicide story I think, "What if someone had been there?" Too often, and certainly in this case, that is a null point. Her father was in the room next door. She killed herself after dinner with family and a conversation with her dad about life. I can't imagine people around her could have done more...my next thought is you never know who's going through this. I don't only mean personal "real" life, but also on a board like this. We just don't know...

my next thought is you never know who's going through this. I don't only mean personal "real" life, but also on a board like this. We just don't know... That's why I believe that people should be careful how they treat others - because you don't know what that person is going through. And if ANYONE on this board does have feelings like this, I hope they talk to someone - close friend, family member, someone on here, just SOMEONE. I used to suffer from depression for many years so stories like this and the Robin Williams one really make me sad.
