Commentary:
Try as I might, I am unable to overplay Darren Hayes' two best songs, so "Darkness" rejoins "Hero" at the top, pushing Within Temptation down a spot. Darren's amazing new video for "Darkness" also helped rekindle its flame, and could even burn it up far enough to overtake "Hero".. it was very close this week. Daniel Bedingfield is the hot debut of the week, entering at a respectable #5 position. Other debuts in the top 20 are an album track by the instrumentally gifted Twelve Girls Band, a b-side of the "Stand My Ground" single by Within Temptation, and another album track by Brandy. Further down we see new singles by Green Day and Blue, but I doubt they'll last long, as both aren't exceptional. Vanessa Carlton's new single is the jump of the week, it rockets a stellar six spots up the chart. Meanwhile, dropping like a stone is the infectuous but borderline annoying "What You Waiting For?" by No Doubt evacuee Gwen Stefani.
