There have been good songs, there have been bad songs, and then there's the disappointing ones. There are 10 songs that I had high hopes for, but I wasn't impressed by them. Be prepared, some of your faves might be on my least enjoyable. 10. Ke$ha / Wil.I.Am - Crazy Kids (I felt like Ke$ha went a bit backwards with this) 9. Toby Keith / Jimmy Buffett - Too Drunk To Karaoke (I was very surprised Jimmy Buffett did a song like this, I felt like it was a dud) 8. Linkin Park / Steve Aoki - A Light That Never Comes (might be one of LP's worst songs yet) 7. Kelly Clarkson - Tie It Up (i liked it at first, but I then got bored of it. My expectations for her are higher than ever, I don't think she met them) 6. Tim McGraw - Southern Girl (Tim's worst song to-date IMO) 5. Kenny Chesney - When I See This Bar (I was very underwhelmed, song seemed to drag out a bit) 4. Britney Spears - Work B---- (Britney's always hit or miss these days, this was a big miss) 3. Sara Bareilles - Brave (never thought I would say this but wow, this was not a good year for Sara IMO. Brave is by far her worst song yet, and I love Sara a lot...but Brave did absolutely nothing for me) 2. Lady Gaga - Applause (the most disappointing song of 2013....in theory) 1. Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop (extremely disappointed not only in Miley's music these days, but in her behavior) As you can see....some surprising names on here. I respect Tim, Kenny and Sara a ton....but their songs were just so bad, I changed the channel after immediately hearing them. Only reason Ke$ha is not higher is because she's hardly had any duds and this one wasn't as big of a dud compared to the other songs. In theory, Brave might have been the most disappointing song of 2013 for me....if it weren't for Applause and We Can't Stop. So i ask you...do you agree? disagree?

Out of those, there were two I totally disagree with, and those are "Tie It Up" and "Brave" - I love both of those!
"Work Bitch" and "Applause" were disappointing for both artists' standards, I got tired of both very fast despite their past reputations.
Totally agreed on "We Can't Stop", I felt it was the totally wrong direction for her to go. Seriously, why did she do such a trashy, slutty song that makes my ears bleed?
Linkin Park has generally been very disappointing for me over the past 4 years or so, and that one is no exception. They need to get back to basics and focus on rock rather than working with dance producers.
Never liked "Crazy Kids", sounds just like every other Ke$ha song out there and having Will.i.am on there sure didn't help.
Don't know the country songs.

I love Kenny and Tim, but I felt like they could have done better with these songs. I really tried hard in giving Brave a chance, but something about it just didn't inspire me, and that's the same with Kelly's song. But Kelly's had a lot of good songs though so I know she'll be just fine. Though I wonder because she hasn't had a mindblowing song for me in years. In retrospect and unrelated, Katy Perry bounced back in a big way for me with Roar. I'll explain this further when I do my endchart. I like Ke$ha a lot but, I could have just as easily put the song outside my top 10 disappointing because the #9 and #10 had a huge gap. I can't say We Can't Stop is the worst song of the year for me overall (hence most disappointing), but it's easily one of the 5 worst of 2013.

I totally disagree with you on the top three: "We Can't Stop" is definitely one of the best songs I've heard by Miley, and it went all the way to #2 for me. "Applause" was a great start for Lady Gaga's new album, in my opinion, and was #1 on my chart for 2 weeks; "Do What U Want" is much weaker to me and is taking a long time for me to get into. "Brave" is the best I've heard from Sara Bareilles since her last #1, "Love Song"; it peaked at #6 on my chart.
"Work Bitch" didn't break the top 10 for me, and while I wouldn't go so far as to say that 'everything from Britney is hit or miss now', it was disappointing for a lead single. I much prefer "Perfume" which is already in my top 10 in just its second week! I'm surprised it's gaining so slowly on Pop and the Hot 100.
"Crazy Kids" was also mediocre, and far from Kesha's best; it also failed to make top 10 for me.
Thankfully I avoided the Jekky song, as I have no interest in hearing it anyway. I don't know the country songs either.

I disagree with Ke$ha, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. But you're right about Miley's behavior.

I disagree with Ke$ha, Linkin Park, Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus. But you're right about Miley's behavior. The only real reasons Ke$ha and LP are on my list here is because I expected so much more from them, especially LP. Truth be told, every one of LP's songs I've enjoyed in some way or another, but this one I just cannot get into at all.

Linkin Park has generally been very disappointing for me over the past 4 years or so, and that one is no exception. They need to get back to basics and focus on rock rather than working with dance producers. This is the truth. Ever since their last great single, "New Divide," they've been disappointing. Linkin Park is one of my 5 or so favourite bands of all time without a doubt, so whenever they have new material coming out I naturally get excited for it, but their mixing of EDM into their traditional Alternative Rock/Nu Metal sound is just frustrating. I mean I don't necessarily dislike it, but they just keep getting worse. So yeah "A Light That Never Comes" is the most disappointing track for me of 2013.

Can't argue with that top two. It's disappointing when porn stars are taking over the music industry and taking the music aspect out of it.

Disagree about 8. Linkin Park / Steve Aoki - A Light That Never Comes. Both artists are big names. I like the element of Club House and Rock and how the track was put together. Instead of leaving you satisfied, Dave Steve leaves you wanting more! 2. Lady Gaga - Applause, I didn't like it at first, I don't think it was a real big deal, but after a while it grows on ya and becomes tolerable.
