Not necessarily like it. I mean, do you listen a song of let's say 3:30 minutes as often as one of 13 or 25 minutes? Does the time it lasts influence how often you listen to it?
I have had this problem many times, Joanna Newsom, Kate Bush, Mike Oldfield and others, but I just downloaded this AMAZING box set that Kreng just released and the shortest song is 21:07! Being the last.fm addict I am, I can't stop thinking how unfair that is when scrobbling lol I can listen to the Silent Hill soundtrack whole 48 songs while I wouldn't even scrobble the whole 8 songs on the Kreng album in the same amount of time. Does this kind of things 'worry' you? Not worry, just... concern you?
Any comments related to length in the songs you listen is welcomed!

Well one of my all time favorite songs is 20 minutes long (2112 by Rush), so obviously it doesn't matter to me if the song is good lol

It doesn't really make a difference to me. I guess I do get impatient with 10+-minute DJ tracks that repeat constantly, but other than that, if a song sounds good, it just sounds good! ;D ;D

length of a track really doesn't effect if i like a track or not.

it's not an issue for me. you know how when a song ends you wish it'd be longer? that's what does it for me. that's happened to me with songs that last 3 mins as well as songs that last 7 mins. or more
Repetitiveness though, that's an issue. Sometimes I like a song but if it goes on and on for no apparent reason... like, did you really have to repeat that chorus 6 times? That's when I'll look for the "radio edit" If there's none, then there's a huge possibility that I won't listen to it anymore.

Longest song I ever listened to was Dream Theater's "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence", at 42 minutes, and Mars Volta's "Cassandra Gemini" at 32 minutes after that. Of course, I don't really listen to these anymore, but the longest song I have is NOFX's "The Decline" at 18 minutes. Occassionally I'll skip it, but if it's something like "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" then I gotta listen to the whole thing.

I generally prefer it if songs don't go over four minutes. That's mostly because I find they tend to often go over that time just to be overly repetitive or become a bit pretentious in trying to be epic. Just being long doesn't make your song epic. It's gotta be worth it. That said, I've never had a problem with the length of November Rain or Bohemian Rhapsody. Also if there's a song I haven't heard and I see that it's long, I'm more likely to put off choosing to listen to it. I like Lana Del Rey but I haven't listened to Ride yet because the official video is over ten minutes on youtube, not that I know how much of that is actually the song.

I may like a song that is long or excessively long, how much I will replay it is another thing. The longest song that I will listen to all the way through that is on my iPod is The Friends Of Mr. Cairo by Jon & Vangelis, around 12 minutes. I don't generally like dance/DJ productions that are over 10 minutes. My ideal length for a song is 3:00

Anything from 3 to 3:30 is long enough to catch people's attention.
