One thing I like about Philadelphia is the sheer amount of history you get there. Just walking around the Independence Hall area is enough to show it. Of course, the Liberty Bell is essential, even if there's extra security to go through to get there. But also worth seeing are the U.S. Mint and the National Constitution Center in the same area. Also worth seeing is South Street, with its unique shops and such.

I forgot all about the U.S. Mint, which is bad because I'm a coin collector. ;D It's got to be impressive though, when you consider how many billions of coins come out of that place every year. Also worth seeing is South Street, with its unique shops and such. Have you ever been there?

Impressive. I only live about 3 hours away from it, and I've never been there. But then again, I never go anywhere.

January 7th, 2012 - Oslo, NorwayNice view of the city at night: I love their houses: The Akershus Fortress: 7 Facts About Oslo: 1) Oslo is the fastest growing city in Europe, mostly due to immigrants. 2) It has a reputation for being cold, but the winters are actually warmer than those of many American cities. However, summers are strangely cool, with high temperatues often stuck in the 60s during the middle of summer. 3) The city is over 1000 years old. 4) Despite not being located anywhere near the "Muslim World," an estimated one in ten residents are Muslims. This is because the city has a large immigrant population from nations such as Pakistan and Iran. 5) Oslo is where the Nobel Peace Prize is given each year, on December 10th. 6) There are 343 lakes within the city limits! 7) You might not think of Oslo as a destination for cruise ships, but there are many that stop here. They tend to let passengers out to visit the Akershus Fortress, a 700 year-old castle.

From what I've heard of it, Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and looks like Oslo's pictures prove it. ;D
Had no idea it could get so warm in the winter that far north though!

From what I've heard of it, Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, and looks like Oslo's pictures prove it. ;D[/youtube] I know! Ever since I heard about the bike paths they have in Norway, I have always wanted to go there. I figure Oslo would be the best place to start. Had no idea it could get so warm in the winter that far north though! Maybe I used the word "warm" in the wrong way here. The average highs in the winter are a few degrees below freezing, which is a lot warmer than I was expecting for a city that far north. I was expecting the type of winters that you see in much of Canada and Alaska, but this is more like Chicago.

Miami, another place I've been ;D I did spend much of my time in the surrounding area though. (as point #1 shows) It really was rainy when I was there though! (I visited late May 2009.) And yes, the beaches there are quite good! I'm not surprised about the sunscreen part. Especially as I saw one of the classic Coppertone billboards there.

That's cool! What did you think of the area?
The sunscreen part doesn't surprise me either, since it has a reputation for being one of the sunniest cities in the country. I heard that Las Vegas and Phoenix actually get more sunshine though, and I'm not surprised about all that rain you saw. ;D

LOL at the bikini photo for Rio de Janeiro... apparently there's lots of metal concerts there and it's a very popular genre within the city, especially Iron Maiden. I've been to Philly and I love it! Obviously I've been to Miami too Miami is great for shopping and partying with friends. DO NEW YORK ;D EDIT: f*ck, wrong account again!

That bikini pic was totally necessary! ;D The DJ on the active rock station here went on vacation to Rio de Janeiro, and he said they had a station just as heavy as the American stations. I think the city being metal-crazy makes it even cooler. I'll do New York next. And after that, I'm gonna do something more unique and forbidden.
