M4BCC Exclusive!!
Here are two "sections" I'm adding on to my chart, but they will only be able to be found in my weekly chart threads here on M4BCC...not on my website! ;D There's the Blast From The Past, which I think is pretty self-explanatory...AND the Hot Track Of The Week. Unlike the "Spotlight Song Of The Week," which is posted on my website, the "Hot Track" will spotlight a song that is current ON my Top 50. Fun!!!!
Hot Track Of The Week
COLDPLAY Paradise
This is the second single from Coldplay's most recent album, Mylo Xyloto. I have an interesting relationship with Coldplay's music. Generally, I don't like it very much. BUT, there always seems to be one song on each of their albums that really catches my ear. On the last album, it was "Violet Hill." Before that, "Speed Of Sound." Now, it's "Paradise." Chris Martin is one talented guy. And this song definitely showcases that talent to my satisfaction. By the way, do you think he wrote this song after a trip to Vegas or Atlantic City? He seems to be warbling on and on throughout the whole song about a pair of dice.
Blast From The Past:
TUPAC feat. THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G. Runnin' (Dying To Live)
This week's Blast From The Past takes us back to 2003. Originally recorded in 1994 under the moniker, "Runnin' (From Tha Police)," "Runnin' (Dying To Live)" was remixed by Eminem for the album Tupac: Resurrection, which accompanied a documentary of the same name about the life of the slain rapper. It contains a sample of the Edgar Winter song, "Dying To Live." When the song was originally recorded, Tupac & Biggie had not yet had their infamous falling out in the aftermath of the shooting of Tupac outside a New York City recording studio that Biggie and members of the Bad Boy Records family were working in that night. Despite denials from Biggie and the rest of the Bad Boy camp, Tupac believed they were responsible for his shooting. Sadly, both rappers would not be around much longer. Tupac would be shot fatally in Las Vegas in September 1996 and Biggie suffered the same fate just six months later following a music industry party in Los Angeles in March 1997. Though many theories continue to run rampant today, both cases remain unsolved.
