Chart Commentary:
"Last Train Home" finally hops on board the top spot, sending "My Immortal" packing. Lostprophets probably should've been #1 last week, but MI is such a great songthat I wanted it to have at least one week on top. "Megah0" sits tight at #3 this week, like "Hey Ya," no matter how many times I play this song I can't get tired of it (which explains seven weeks at #1).
311 is the largest jump in almost the whole top twenty this week, up from #13 to #8, while "Someday"'s bulletless rise continues and "Roses" rises five spots following a mind-blowing #24 debut (not sure if it takes the record for highest debut or not, but it came close if it didn't).
Patty Loveless easily takes greatest gainer, even though it rises just seven spots. The new songs from Evanescence and Michelle Branch debut this week at #36 and #37; while Avril Lavigne just squeeks into the top 40 on the brink. Beyonce (#34), the Red Hot Chilli Peppers (#37), and P.O.D. (#39) are all sent packing this week.
On the Verge:
Hoobastank The Reason
- When I first heard this song, I hated it. But it really isn't that bad, just different and a little sappy.
Linkin Park Breaking the Habit
- I took this out of the running a week or two ago 'cause I was unsure whether this would actually be released. But, I figure I might as well put it back in, cause it's a great song whether or not it becomes a single.
Kanye West It All Falls Down
- This is so much better than the trash of a single called "Through the Wire" and the even worse, "Slow Jamz," which isn't actually Kanye's song (but that didn't stop him from putting it on his cd).
Kimberley Locke 8th World Wonder
- I heard this song way back last November, but forgot about it. I went back to it, and it's fairly good - decent. At least a lot better than the recent hip-hop and bubblegum trash.
Nickelback Feelin' Way Too Damn Good
- This will make it on, just a matter of when.
