p2pNet Writes:
The most-visited page on our site over the past week wasn't the one centering on the appalling Pepsi-iTunes-RIAA Sleaze Bowl commercial. And it wasn't Big Music's raid on Kazaa. Nor was it Wayne Rosso's thoughts on the phony Sharman Networks 'Industry Group'. It wasn't even the Napsterization of a second American university.
But you're way ahead of us, right? You'd already sussed everyone was looking for Janet Jackson's right ti- (ooops, sorry, mammary gland).
We posted the story to keep the Pepsi-iTunes Super Bowl item rolling. p2pnet went down a couple of times and we thought, 'Wow! There's hope yet. America (and the rest of the world : ) takes the way Big Music, Pepsi and Apple used a bunch of naive kids really seriously!'
[To digress - we made a mistake with the headline: it should have been Pepsi-iTunes Super Bowl ad blasted instead of Apple-iTunes Super Bowl ad blasted. No wonder we had so many emails from so many irate Apple freaks. We changed it, but it was too late by then : )
Anyhow - the top ten search phrases were: janet jackson - 26.8%; janet jackson super bowl - 10.7%; janet jackson breast - 6.1%; janet jackson exposed - 2.5%; janet jackson super bowl breast - 2.2%; janet-jackson - 1.7%; janet jackson breast super bowl - 1.5%; super bowl janet jackson - 1.5%; janet jackson's breast - 1.3%; janet jackson exposed breast - 1%
*kazaa plus* was number 11 at .9%.
In other words, literally hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people were driven to p2pnet.net not because of the rightness of the causes we espouse, the brilliance of our prose, our grammatical expertise, or even our amazing record of never havjng no typos in storiez.
Nope. We were swamped by people wanting to see Janet Jackson's right ti- (ooops, sorry, mammary gland).
Not that we're complaining, mind you.
Some of you may have noticed this story is headed "Janet Jackson's right breast*. That isn't an accident. No. In fact, we're thinking of changing the name of the site to janet-jackson's-right-t-it-and-p2pnet.net.net, with a pic of the famous gland, complete with *ipple-ring, permanently cemented into the top-spot.
