are three artists that get played constantly on Canadian radio, but nobody I know actually likes them. Is there any reason to play them other then to fill up your CanCon status? Is it really such a loss if no one plays them?

Aside from Sam Roberts's song "Brother Down" (which made my top 5), I'm not a REALLY big fan of any of these... they're just okay to me. However, Rock 102 here plays all 3 artists all the time.

On My Chart: Good, MatthewWeapon: #24 (2002) Alert Status Red: #16 (2004) Born Losers: #7 (2007) Roberts, SamBrother Down: #16 (2002) Don't Walk Away Eileen: #25 (2002) Hard Road: #29 (2003) Where Have All The Good People Gone: #37 (2003) The Gate: #14 (2006) Them Kids: #69 (2008) Tea Party, TheWritings On The Wall: #4 (2005) Stargazer: #2 (2005) I like them all Actually lol these would be 3 of the top 10 Canadian acts that in my opinion should have American success. In any order: Sam Roberts Matthew Good The Tea Party Mobile State Of Shock Gob Stabilo The Trews Matt Mays & El Torpedo Faber Drive Billy Talent and Marianas Trench would probably be on this list had they not charted on a U.S. Billboard chart "Try Honesty" by Billy Talent got to #24 on BB Modern Rock "Say Anything" by Marianas Trench got to #71 on the BB Hot 100

I'm just tired of hearing songs like "Them Kids", "The Messenger" and "Born Losers" on the radio every day. They're really lackluster and only get played because they're Canadian. I wish the plays for these songs could be given to more deserving artists. But maybe that's just me?

Actually, I follow the Canada Rock chart on Mediabase and R&R, for a span of about 5 weeks, "Them Kids" had the best audience at over 2 mil.

But no one I know is really ecstatic or anything over it. That's my point.

All Sam Roberts songs sound alike to me – ordinary. Matthew Good was ok when he had ‘band’ attached to his name (Apparitions – Load me up) As for Tea Party, I’ve listened to the albums ‘Splendor Solis’ (1993) and ‘Edges of Twilight’ (1995) dozens of times. After that, nothing exciting.
I agree that none of these artists deserve as many spins as they got on Canadian radio.
