A part-time police officer allegedly took his authority too far and across county lines.
Johnson County, Kansas, prosecutors say John Geolas will return to court for a second time after allegedly making a false stop in his unmarked car.
The 55-year-old officer in the North Kansas City suburb of Randolph has been charged with false impersonation after a traffic stop in his Prairie Village, Kansas, neighborhood in June.
This isn't the first time Geolas has been accused of flipping on his lights and sirens out of his jurisdiction.
Last summer, Geolas was found guilty and fined $90 in Prairie Village for using his lights and sirens after he was involved in a collision in his unmarked vehicle.
Geolas' attorney says he was upholding his duty as a law enforcement official.
