Well, 6 songs this year have hit 10@1, there hasn't really been 1 dominant song this year unlike Dip It Low and It's All You last year. The #1 leader is Elisa with 19@1 but she's struggled lately so Natalie still leads with Ashanti a close 2nd because she's still top 10.
For those keeping track at home, a lot of rock on this year's chart so we'll see how it goes.

4 days later, this is how it looks now.
Now I'm being told it's gonna be a top 100 of 2005, but if there's anything we've learned...we should know nothing is sacred.
With the IDRL FAN'S CHOICE AWARDS on October 31st, it's all gravy and stuff like that.
It's apparent at this point that the midyear top 3 might be the same top 3 if all the cards are played out correctly. Less than 5 months to go to the big 2005 endshow so here's where we stand.
2005 Standings (7/27): 1. Going Crazy 2. Believer -19 3. Come Speak To Me -21 4. Only U -75 5. Breathe (2 AM) -99 6. Bluebird -267 [+2] 7. Behind These Hazel Eyes -342 [-1] 8. 1 Thing -459 [-1] 9. Beverly Hills -515 [+2] 10. Somebody -725 [+2] -------------------------- 11. In The Light -792 [-1] 12. Negotiate With Love -842 [-3] 13. What Happens Tomorrow -1,000 [=]
[?]=change since last update
What I can tell you is that instead of a 2-way battle for #1, we got a 7-way tussle for the top as of now. All songs in the top 7 are deep in their runs (10 weeks at least), and 5 of them are in the top 10 in MWC Pts (Bonnie, Natalie, Anna, Elisa, Cassie). The other 2 strong ones are Ashanti and Kelly.
Outside the top 10 it could be Duran Duran v.s. Full Blown Rose and Green Day's 2005 gets better and better. Where will BOBD, Holiday and WMUWSE end up? Further down, how high will we see Hope Partlow, Hayden Panettiere and Caleigh Peters?
Downard further, there might even be no single Britney Spears song making the endchart. As of now, Do Something sits in #91 while Someday is #252. Eminem on the other hand might make it despite having no single song on IDRL make the countdown. Like Toy Soldiers could get there though due to Airplay Factor and it sits in #100 right now.
Fellow rapper 50 Cent might need a backup plan. He's only got 1 song in the top 250 listed, as he sits in #81 right now and could be lower. Who knows?
But the story of the year is Mariah Carey, who's got 2 songs in the top 20 of 2005 at this moment, but it's still early. WBT is now just ahead of ILT.
As for Sugababes, their 2005 has not been truly amazing though they did have Million Different Ways make the countdown and could possibly finish top 15 for 2005. Girls Aloud might finally beat their UK Rivals in the form of those same Sugababes.
As for Ashanti, don't expect anything too exciting for her except for Only U trying to finish 2005 at #1. Her next highest rank right now is a disappointing #59 for Don't Let Them. Christina Milian has the same issue, as does Ciara. Rachel Farris though has capitalized on her #1 success story of 2004 with Beautiful in the top 40 of 2005 as of now.
Kelly Clarkson may have set an IDRL record for the endchart with like 6-7 solo appearances. Even Breakaway will make the chart. Also expected to be on will of course be her hits Since You've Been Gone and Behind These Hazel Eyes as well as Gone, Addicted, You Found Me and Because Of You. Nothing's confirmed yet though. Fellow AI alum Kimberly Locke however is nowhere near the top 100 with Coulda Been at #169. She is expected to miss the top 100. Diana DeGarmo has a decent shot with All I Never Wanted and Carrie Underwood could be top 50 for Inside Your Heaven. Another AI alum, Jasmine Trias is expected to have 2 songs in the top 50. Flying Home did well on IDRL while Excuses did sensational on MWC hitting #1 there once and has even more points than Ashanti's Only U. Surprised? We think so.
International stars did it again with Nightwish, Within Temptation, Rihanna and Keane making waves while future hall of famers Duran Duran and U2 kept it top-notch as well as Rachel Stevens and Natasha Bedingfield shutting down the competition with their unique sounds, but the best of the international stars may be Elisa who's dominated IDRL and MWC. If not careful, Elisa could be the #1 song of 2005 for Come Speak To Me.
Meanwhile, techno music got its due too. Antique and BT Featuring Charmed's Rose McGowan gave us a memorable run on the MWC but choked on IDRL. D.H.T. could be the best out of the dance/techno region, although the piano mix of Listen To Your Heart is what's making them do so well.
As far as rock goes, they have had some fun. NIN, Weezer, Garbage, Hawthorne Heights and Green Day have all hit #1 as have Full Blown Rose, Duran Duran and Papa Roach. I expect no fewer than 15-20 rock songs to be on the 2005 endchart.
And not to mention, the 2004 faves carried over into 2005. Ashanti is the best of that bunch, but watch out for everyone else who made a name for themselves in 2004. Keep an eye on Angel whose 3 Small Words is expected to do well on endchart, as is Bonnie McKee's Somebody who got a resurgence in 2005 thanks to TRL Pre-RL'ing the video.
The newbies have not been ignored either, the best being Natalie, Cassie Steele and Anna Nalick. Natalie may have 4 songs make the cut while Anna might have 3 by year's end. Cassie could also have 3 if she keeps her momentum up.

Now, we have some of the performers and guests confirmed for this special show. Let me tell you something it's gonna be epic. Here's who we got so far. *=guest, but not confirmed to perform yet* PERFORMERS: Natalie Anna Nalick Cassie Steele Elisa Ashanti Kelly Clarkson Within Temptation Mariah Carey Coldplay GUESTS: Rachel Stevens* Lloyd Amerie* Green Day* Hilary Duff* Evanescence's Amy Lee Usher* Nightwish's Tarja* <--band not confirmed to perform yet* Stacie Orrico* Jessica Simpson* Christina Milian* (at this point, current # if year were to end right now) STORYLINE UPDATE: Natalie is still in control to have the #1 song of 2005, but Elisa and Christina Milian are right on her heels. Bonnie McKee, Anna Nalick and Cassie Steele are also right below and don't count out Ashanti and Kelly because they are countdown staples. These 8 will likely be in the top 10 for the 2005 endchart, but you never know. The thing to watch out for is to see if Duran Duran, Rachel Stevens and Full Blown Rose will be in top 10 even though all retired on IDRL earlier this year. DD's got airplay while FBR's got MWC helping them out and Rachel's got recurrency. As far as Mariah goes, she has a shot at finishing top 10 for 2005, but there is no way she will finish #1 at this point since she fell off MWC and retired on IDRL. Shake It Off might end up the same result. Further down are Girls Aloud, who still have a shot at finishing top 10 because it was reported that Wake Me Up will return in the next few weeks. They racked up a solid 5@1 for their song which is their 2nd highest #1 song, only a 1/3 though of Sound Of The Underground's total. Even then, SOTU finished 14th in 2004, but Wake Me Up has the big airplay helping them. Also downward are Hayden Panettiere, Caleigh Peters, Delta Goodrem and Pussycat Dolls hanging around with their breakout tracks and you can tell they will be happy with where they finish. The story to watch for though is Coldplay who all of a sudden is #20 at this point, passing fellow Brits, Sugababes. Speed Of Sound is generating all kinds of power and actually has a top 10 for 2005 endchart shot. Further down, outside the top 20 we see Sugababes with Million Different Ways. You can find many ways to confuse them, but they do what they do best and that's perform well. Their streak is in jeopardy as in they finished with a top 10 song in the last 2 endcharts (2003-#9, 2004-#7) so their run is on the line. Unless Push The Button comes out soon, it'll be all up to MDW to try and keep the dream alive. That trails Natalie by 2,697. Downward further from 25-22 are It's Like That, In The Rough, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams & It's A Beautiful World. Jump 5 and GD only trail MDW by 3 pts each but Jump 5 gets higher rank because they hit #1 more. Down even further and all around, c/d faves like Kelly's SUBG (#46), Ashanti's DLT (#49), Christina M's DIL (#43) and 2004 #1:Rachel F's IAY (#31). There has been a sea of soloists rummaging around and 2004's top rookie is Angel whose Just The Way I Am is right now #59, Beyond The Wall is right now #48, To Forgive You is right now #92, Love Is at #89, Angel at #75 and Three Small Words at #26, just 1 pt behind It's Like That. Among the soloists are Brooke Valentine's Girlfight (#64), Carrie Underwood's Inside Your Heaven (#73), Jasmine Trias's Flying Home (#44) and Excuses (#27), trailing Three Small Words by 15 pts, Diana DeGarmo's All I Never Wanted (#91), Britney Spears's Do Something (#100), Avril Lavigne's Fall To Pieces (#98), Hilary Duff's Wake Up (#87), Lindsay Lohan's First (#59) and Over (#51) and of course Shakira's La Tortura (#63). Country got its due with Tim McGraw representing as 5 country songs are now expected to make the endchart. Believe it or not, that's an IDRL career-best. Tim leads the way at #30 right now for Live Like You Were Dying, but fellow country star LeAnn Rimes sits in at #32 for You Take Me Home, which became the first song from a country artist since 2002's IGGG by Shania Twain to hit #1. Tim came close to the top at #2 on IDRL, but he was denied by Cassie Steele's Bluebird on June 10th when she nabbed her 8th day at #1. Another country star expected to make it is Rascal Flatts's God Bless The Broken Road, which is #86 right now, but enough airplay could give them the power they need to score their first top 100 endchart finish ever. The 4th is the already mentioned Carrie Underwood. The 5th might be a late bloomer as Keith Urban's early 2005 rally hit You're My Better Half has just knocked off 50 Cent's Candy Shop from the top 100 to take #100 right now. But all eyes are on Natalie v.s. 2-8. Keith Urban trails Natalie by like 54,392 pts or so Good luck everyone in top 100 contention. Oh yeah, starting tomorrow.... I will confirm a song a day that is guaranteed to be in the top 100. See this list below? - ? - This signals that if your song is called, you are guaranteed a top 100 slot. I will give it to only 75 of the 100, the other 25 are up to you to figure out. UPDATE:Do Something is now off the top 100, and is replaced by Cassie Steele's Drink Me Dry now at #99. This is the end of the Britney era as we know it Comments?

As it stands right now, the battle for #1 could get vicious Natalie has a 1 pt lead over Elisa and about a 3-5 pt lead on Christina Milian - Believer. That could change as Natalie has gotten a boost. Cassie Steele needs to keep hitting #1 to stay in the hunt for #1 of 2005. Although this has been a great year for Anna Nalick, on IDRL she's only hit 2@1 for Breathe and 3@1 for In The Rough while on MWC she's hit 3@1 for Breathe and 1@1 for In The Rough. Will she recharge? Keep an eye out for the lower tier of the top 20 as shaking things up is permitted. FBR leads the way in #11 just behind Amerie by a few pts for #10. Jump 5 is knocking on the top 20 door and Angel's TSW is now #25 at this point.
