At the official Liz Phair forum, we have a thread like this. It's interesting. You just post whatever album you are liking the most that day and tell why. Mine is: It's a great pop album. There are some edgier songs, but there are also ballads. The overall theme of the album is fairly positive, but also tells of lost love and new love. It's too bad this album was overlooked...it's perfect.

Patrick Wolf, "The Magic Position"Listening to this album takes me to another place, it's just so beautifully written and composed and very happy- a stark contrast to his previous work. "The Magic Position", Patrick's 3rd studio album is written based on a recent loving relationship, starting after an "Overture" at the beginning of the relationship on the title track (the 3rd and new UK single - out March 26th, and video provided below) and running through the up's and down's throughout the rest of the record. Patrick Wolf, "The Magic Position" (New single video) : www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeR9_7cACUcThis is my album of the day, my album of the week and possibly my album of 2007 so far!

Agreed with what Roger said about how it's hard to keep up with a new album each day. One a week might be a better suggestion. Right now, for me, it's "3121" by Prince. 10 songs off this album are just simply excellent, and the other two are good as well. Prince never disappoints me!

Just Look Pretty And Sing - Tara Slone. This album is great, its better than anything she did with Joydrop. The only problem is that its not long enough. There 11 tracks which isn't bad, but only 8 are new, there is a Joydrop cover, a David Bowie cover and a french version of her first single.

(review from my media blog...yes, EPs count, too) Artist: Jeffree Star Title: Plastic Surgery Slumber Party - EPRating: 4 out of 5 Tracklist:1."Eyelash Curlers & Butcher Knives (What's The Difference?)" 2.Plastic Surgery Slumber Party 3.Straight Boys 4.Ice Cream 5.We Want C**t Standouts: "Eyelash Curlers..." and "Ice Cream" I bought this EP purely because Jeffree is interesting and his music is insanely catchy. I knew I would like it, but I didn't expect it to be as solid as it is. I discovered that with his music, you have to listen to it without taking it seriously. And that's the way I feel he wants it; making fun of what society today deems 'cool' or 'hot'. Kudos for that! The EP opens with the first single, "Eyelash Curlers & Butcher Knives (What's The Difference?)", and that track by itself is so damn hot. It is easily the best produced track on the album. It is pure dance music that is sure to make for a great dance experience. The lyrics are cleverly written and Jeffree's vocals are neat, especially with the effects, which add a certain 'edge' to it. However, it is the most forgettable track by Jeffree. The second track, "Plastic Surgery Slumber Party", is also good. It has an interesting but cool beat, and the lyrics depict the vanity of today's world. I loved this one at first, but the effect of it has worn off. Nonetheless, I still like it. Then comes "Straight Boys". It was one of his first songs, and I see why. It's poorly produced and sounds so cheap. It is at least unique, so that is something good. "Ice Cream" comes next, and this is the best track on the EP easily. It is a novelty CLASSIC. The lyrics are clever, the beat isn't overdone, and it doesn't sound cheap. It is very short though, coming in at only 1 minute and 50 seconds long, but in that period of time, you can listen to the best novelty song around. Jeffree's 'theme song', "We Want C**t" (c*nt) finishes out the EP. This is also very cheap-sounding, but at least it has a cool beat. Jeffree is at his uniqueness peak with this one. Overall, this is a good purchase. I recommend it, actually! It is only $4.95 and it is only on iTunes now!
