This is the debut album from Sheffield band, The Long Blondes- led by the beautiful Kate Jackson. A fantastic album that I picked up at the end of last year having really enjoyed the singles "Weekend Without Makeup" and "Once And Never Again". It is three-quarters of an hour of fun, catchy, melodic, brilliantly written indie-pop. From the first seconds of distortion on album opener "Lust In The Movies" you are introduced slowly and eased gently into what's soon to follow. Following "Lust.." is a 4 song knock-out punch of greatness back-to-back, starting with recent single "Once And Never Again" and being thrown into "Only Lovers Left Alive", album highlight "Giddy Straospheres" and "In The Company Of Women", and if you've not started dancing after that or tapping your feet then you need to seek urgent medical help! There are many other highlights and gems to be found such as lead single "Weekend Without Makeup", "Separated By Motorways" and album closer "A Knife For The Girls". This album is an excellent debut, full of brash confidence and seductive charm. If there's any justice, they'll continue to flirt with the singles and album chart into next year and beyond. Here's the video for Once And Never Again: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKeC9OSl29cAnd here is the video for new 3rd single "Giddy Straospheres" which is out in the UK on February 5th: www.chartsingles.net/videos/view/1142/the-long-blondes-giddy-stratospheres-video/

"Someone To Drive You Home" is a great album. It is probably my most listened to album at the moment.
The album really starts off well with "Lust In The Movies", "Once and Never Again", "Only Lovers Left Alive","Giddy Stratospheres" and "In The Company Of Women". "Weekend Without Makeup" is also a great single.
