This is the next album from Prince, scheduled for release this Tuesday (March 21). The first single, "Te Amo Corazon", released in December, went nowhere (as we all know). The second single, "Black Sweat" reached #60 on the Billboard Hot 100; upon its February release as a commercial CD-single, it went to #1 on Billboard for one week. MTV has begun playing the accompanying black-and-white video. Here are some details about the title of the album, copied verbatim from Wikipedia: The title of the album refers to the address of Prince's Los Angeles mansion. The number also has relevance to the release dates of the album and debut single. "Te Amo Corazon" was released December 13, 2005 (or 12/13, which backwards is 3121). The album itself is being released on March 21, 2006 (or 3/21, which is 3121 without the first 1). The second single from 3121 ("Black Sweat") runs for 3:12 minutes (which is 3121 without the last digit). Confirmed track listing: 01 - "3121" 02 - "Lolita" 03 - "Te Amo Corazón" 04 - "Black Sweat" 05 - "Incense and Candles" 06 - "Love" 07 - "Satisfied" 08 - "Fury" 09 - "The Word" 10 - "Beautiful, Loved and Blessed" 11 - "The Dance" 12 - "Get On the Boat" Covers: Te Amo Corazon: Black Sweat: 3121 (the album): I'm really excited about this one! I think it'll turn out to be one of the best albums of 2006 (in my opinion) along with Christina Milian's "So Amazing" (due out 4/25).

I'm looking forward to this album as well. I liked "Te Amo Corazon" and I LOVE "Black Sweat."
I'm also interested in hearing "Beautiful, Loved, & Blessed." It's a duet with Toni Braxton's lil' sis, Tamar. It's also the first single from her second solo CD. That one is starting to make some noise on the Urban AC chart.

This is a great album. This is the first album since 1995's The Gold Experience that I have really loved! There have been a few good tracks here and ther on some of the other albums such as Chaos & Disorder, Emancipation, New Power Soul, Crystal Ball. Rave Un2 The New Joy Fantastic, The Rainbow Children and Musicology. But this one is one of the few that is really solid.

Jess will be pleased to hear that "Black Sweat" completely flopped in the U.K. with a debut this week of just #43.
